  1. Hello,

The unimaginable worst thing has happened.. After a long year of waiting and receiving the visa, the day of our flight back to America.. my wife's family could not find her passport :(. Every other little piece of document was there. The passport has the CR1 visa on there. We immediately filed to get a new expedited passport made which she will get in 4 days. But now what I'm really worried about is what is the procedure to get the CR1 visa back on this new passport now? I called the Islamabad embassy where she had her original interview, but they refused to answer any questions about this and told me to submit a contact form online, which I've done but it could take up to 5 days for them to respond to tell me what to do...And we are dying not knowing how long this could take to get the visa back.

Does anyone know the procedure or what happens if you lose the passport with the visa?? I read in one place online it has to go through a case again.. I'm praying so hard that it's not true and the embassy will just give the visa right away again. Let me know if anyone has experience like this or knows what the procedure will be.

    Thank you!

  2. Whao! congrats webcrawler, seems NVC is improving these days, CC in 18 days

Thanks! Yeah haha I was surprised myself.. They had told me it'll take up to 60 days when I called on my scan date so I didn't expect anything for a while.. but then this weekend I was surprised to see three N/A's sitting in my status page so I called today and they confirmed it's complete and they're waiting on a date from the embassy. I hope they're as quick with the interview date as they were with this stage :)

  3. Hello,

I had diligently put together my I-130 packet for my wife to make sure I don't receive a RFE.. and to my dismay yesterday I saw RFE sitting in my mailbox. I open it and the first page is correct has all the right information about me and my wife. But then the second page had a RFE for birth certificate for someone else's name! (I had already included birth certificate and notarized translation for my wife) I double checked online as well and it said there as well an RFE was mailed to me. So I called USCIS and the agent said they have submitted request to have it looked into and they'll get back to me within 30 days... :( So did they completely mix up my wife's file with someone else's?!

I'm pretty surprised they made such a big blunder.. Has this happened to anyone else before and how fast does USCIS fix mistakes like this?

    Thank you
