  1. P.S. I forgot to mention, this is for her online N-400 application for Naturalization. USCIS accepted her application very quickly, within 2 days and the appointment is coming up quickly so if she needs to have an I-797c to present therte is some time pressure.
  2. Hi everyone, My wife received her Biometrics appointment scheduled for November 1, but it came as a PDF from her online account and not on the I-797c form. Instead it has an 'Appointment Scheduled' header and a bar code and so forth. Will this suffice for presenting at the appointment or should I be looking for the actual I-797c form? The PDF that we received has all of her information along with the date and time but on a second page which are instructions for the appointment day reference presenting the 797c , so it's a little confusing to us. Tx!
  3. Hi everyone, on the online N-400 it asks how many children UNDER 18 the applicant has...my Wife has children but well over the age of 18 so we just put '0' in that space instead of putting a three for the three kids, is that okay?? Tx!
  4. Absolutely although the IRS response probably will include a fine. Thanks!
  5. Should we continue with my wife's N-400 for naturalization or wait until our situation resolves itself? We were almost ready to send the application online when I discovered that our tax transcripts were potentially not accurate. Our tax preparer was making a mistake in the income section and I have now filed amended returns for the three years involved. IRS has not had time to respond since this is all within the last few days. Everything else is ready to send. What do you guys think?
  6. Hi, Did I read here somewhere that there is a government web link where you can lookup your trips outside the USA if you are a Visa holder? My wife is finalizing her online N-400 for naturalization but may have lost track of one or two of her short trips to Colombia, and sometimes there are no passport stamps to consult. Tx!
  7. Well, one of my divorces and my Wife's earlier divorce are printed on that longer legal paper. When I scan these for upload to the online N-400 can I divide the scan into two parts or should I make a notation and take the originals with us to the interview? Tx!
  8. Me again, My Wife is applying online with the N-400 for citizenship and we are almost done except the Child/Spousal support question. All three of her children are grown professionals and only one is living in America, she is nearly 30 and was over 18 when she came here with my Wife, and works in another state professionally. For the question I wrote a short reply on a slip of paper and indicated that the question does not apply, and uploaded it to the online N-400 or the app does not let you advance to the next section without a warning notice. Are we okay with that knowing it is something for the interviewer? Or should we add something else? Many Thanks!
  9. Hi Everyone, Well maybe I missed it but I'm at the very end of the online N-400 application for my Wife and the pictures she took last week at the post office don't seem to be getting asked for. We uploaded her Green Card ( IR-1) but that seems to be it! Did I miss it? Naturally we are going to take everything we have to the interview but I wanted to check...TX!!
  10. You have helped us greatly, I'm switching over to online filing at once, I began the process in April, online, but we foot dragged and the 30 day limit to complete the application erased her work about half done. Once again, Thank You!
  11. Thanks much, are you referring to doing the N-400 online or the I-90 or both? Also what potential reasons for rejection would be involved in paper filing? Tx!!
  12. Hi everyone, I'm wondering if it makes any sense to file an I-90 for extending my wifes' Permanent Resident green card at the same time as we concurrently send in her N-400 for citizenship? We have waited till the ninth year of her green card to file for citizenship and are ready to send in a few days by paper, but just by way of covering our bases I was wiondering about the I=90. We have NO reason to expect my wife to have any problem with the N-400 process, if anythig she is an exemplary immigrant with a great job in the public school system, but with waiting times, unexpected developments etc..? We are aware of the two year extension once the N-400 is accepted as well but I wouldn't mind having her I-90 application in process if it doesn't complicate things at USCIS. Many thanks in advance for your thoughts!
  13. Thanks so much for your reply, we will answer it that way!
  14. Hi, My wife is applying for citizenship and we reached question 12.a on the N-400 which asks if she wants a new social security card. She already has one and works full time, is there any advantage to answering 'yes' to the question in order to have the SSA update her status once she gets citizenship?? Tx!
  15. That is very good news maam and I thank you heartily, we will have the 400 en route in the next several weeks!
  16. Thanks much, yes I said visa when in fact it is the ten year green card. I was worried that if the n-400 process overlaps with the expiration of her green card next year and we still haven't had her interview, would that be a problem. It's our fault for waiting so long, we had ample time to apply.
