My Husband and I met while I was an exchange teacher in North Carolina, where he lived for 12 years. I lived in Charlotte, NC from 2002-2005. My husband and I were married December of 2003. We had our first child in April 2005 in Charlotte, NC. We obtained Canadian Permanent Residency for my Husband in July of 2005. We began that process in January of the same year. When his permanent residency was approved we moved to Canada (Nova Scotia) to be closer to my family. We both began work in September. We are now beginning the process to move back to the US. We filed our I-130 petition on June 22 and it was approved in 20 minutes. We just received our packet 3 on July 4 - Independence Day!! Nice to have freedom to go between countries, but very expensive.
