Our Story
My husband and I met online on New Year's, 2000; neither of us were "looking for online love" at the time. Slowly, we grew closer to each other, corresponding by chat, email, and phone for the next couple of years until we both found ourselves very much in love.
After immense struggle, my then-would-be-husband finally entered the States and met me in person in late summer of 2001. Needless to say, he couldn't bring himself to leave and we lived together for many months.
We got married in May of 2002. It was a civil marriage ceremony performed at a county courthouse, and we eloped {although all of our family and friends happily accepts the marriage now}.
Stupidly, we thought that as long as we had a marriage certificate, we could travel anywhere and be fine. So in August 1 of that year, we flew to Canada to see my husband's parents. 2 weeks later, in an attempt to return to the States, he was not allowed back because of lack of immigration documentation {because we were married}!
Devastated, I returned home to the States and started the process of preparing to live with my husband in Canada while going through the process of officially landing there.
Since then, we have been fighting to have me immigrated in Canada, with so far little success.
Late March of this year {2004}, I found out that I am pregnant. We decided then to try to have my husband immigrate to the States through K3. Right now we are gathering the necessary info to do this so that when the time comes to take action, the process will hopefully run smoothly.
I pray that we will finally be able to stay together happily so that we can focus on raising our family.
