  1. Hi,

I received 2 emails notifying of two new personal messages I have on VJ. I check under messages and nothing shows up. I know Capt. Ewok posted a message about transferring all of our old PM's and us not being able to view these for another two days. But, does this also include new PM's? Does anyone know?

    Thanks

  2. When you open facebook, just above the farm window there are tabs. "free gifts", "play" and "neighbours" etc. Click on neighbours. If any of your friends play you'll be able to see them there and their farms and you can click "add as neighbours".

There is also a section where you can invite friends.

Don't bother with that Pirate game. It's a piece of #######. Everyone I know has it blocked.

yay, I got it, thanks to everyone :-)

  3. Hi all,

I created a facebook account about 3 weeks ago, so I am still getting used to it. I am hooked on farmville, but I need neighbors.

Does anyone want to be my neighbor? How do we go about adding a neighbors?

  4. Rings, your list looks fine. If you wanted to, you could include tax transcripts of more years, envelopes addressed to the two of you at your home, etc. I sent in a lot of documentation as well - shortly before I filed there were a lot of people receiving requests for more evidence who had sent in rather minimal amounts. I figure I would rather them have too much than too little. Your evidence shows a nice range of integration of your lives together - financial, social and personal. I think you will be just fine!

My packet was all ready to go when I saw Sheriff Uling's post about receiving an RFE for W2s... I didn't think it was needed at this stage anymore since we had submitted that during K1 and AOS. But to make it safe, I included them again (we didn't have W2s, just 1099s -- husband's retired). I also remembered, during our AOS, I received an RFE on W2s again or anything that will show how much my husband's making. Now on our ROC, I made sure there will be sufficient (or more than) documents to prove that we are still in this marriage.

Do you think I should send in W2's? I am sending tax transcripts, should I add the W2's also?

  5. Hi All;

Well we have 2 more months to wait until we can call for our 2nd interview - that was a long 2.5 year wait - *phew* but we are still together amazingly. I hope everything goes ok this time. I have to call January 2nd for a new interview, does anyone have an idea of how long the backup is when you call in for a new appt? This is for the K-1 fiance visa.

    Hi Janet,

How are you? I connected to the Juarez group to see if any of the first original posters still connect and I see you. Wow girl, I am so glad you're still together with Edgar. I can't wait to hear from you when he finally passes his interview this time with flying colors. Then you two will be reunited and celebrating.

I didn't really connect on VJ anymore after AOS was done with, but now that we are filing for removal of conditions I have been logging in.

Best of luck to you Janet with this second interview, everything will go well this time.

Also best of luck to all others on this thread. I was once a crazy poster on this Juarez forum, but have now retired since my hubby is now here with me in the US. Hopefully, all of you will be together with your SO one day in the near future. :star:

  6. Hi there!

Wow, you leave for Mexico the same day you mail the package? I thought you needed it the extension letter to travel.

Good thing for you is that California Service Center is really fast. I might have to wait 4 to 5 months to get approved.

Have a nice and safe trip.

    Good Luck !

    LissB

To my understanding, we don't need the extension letter. My huysbands greencard doesn't expire until Feb. 2010 and we will be back Nov. 29th. You only need the extension letter if you will be coming back to the US after your green card expires. Anyone, correct me if I'm wrong.

  7. Yes, he can travel. I've left the US and returned twice with the extension letter. And if the new card isn't here by December I'll be doing it again.

WRT the biometrics..... what a lot of us have done is to do a walk-in when you receive your appointment letter. And I wouldn't put my life on hold just in case I'm called for an interview. That can be rescheduled also.

OH MY GOD, I am panicking after reading this. We will be filing my husband's AOS removal of conditions approximately on Nov. 12th, since his residency expires Feb. 6, 2010. However, we have planned a trip to Mexico from Nov. 14th through Nov. 29th. This is a huge problem because I did not know you could not travel unless you have a 6 month validity on green card. Is this true? We didn't know that!!!!

Ooh no, someone please please answer me.

  8. I only left the last 4 digits. I do agree with most people, but to a point. Yes, USCIS is the governmnment, they may know a lot of information, but this is something that should not be given to them easily. Taking over someones identity takes work, you have to get SS numbers, DOB, addresses, and such, then open the credit card to use and buy what you want. Why should I make it easy for anyone who looks at the documents or (if they loose it) for someone who finds them. The government has a lot of information about us, and yes, we provide it to them, but it's all spread out, most of the time one branch in USCIS doesn't know what's going on in the same building in another department. I sent copies of checks, credit cards and check cards, blocked all but names and last 4 digits, only because this is not a requirement to send them photocopies of the cc, its just additonal information that makes up the whole case we sent. And yes, if they reallt want to they can get all your information, but I am sure they will not want to get all of the 16 digits, since it s not relevant to the case. All in all, its your decision.

    Good luck,

    Mike.

You suggest some very good points, thanks. I will be blocking out numbers. You're right, if they want to look anything up, I am sure they will do so.

    Thanks to all who answered.

  9. Hey everyone,

I am putting together the forms for my husband's I-751 and will be mailing out in early November.

I was wondering if any of you blocked out some numbers from bank accounts/credit cards. I mean, the CO only needs to see the last 4 digits of cards to prove joint account, right? Or am I just being overly paranoid?

It has been so long since I filed AOS forms and I don't remember what I did.

    What did u guys do?

  10. My husband is from Mexico and has two last names. It is quite common for ppl. from Latin American countries to have both the paternal and maternal last names.

When we filed his K1 and AOS paperwork, I kept both of his last names on all forms.

Now, we will soon be filing for the removal of conditions. I was wondering if it's possible to get rid of his maternal last name when we lift conditions.

Is this allowed or is it best to wait until naturalization for this? It's not a HUGE deal, but if it's possible to do without creating much confusion, we want to do that.

    Does anyone have any input/suggestions?

  11. Hi everyone,

I figured I can get some help from you guys, since you all have experience in buying airline tickets (to visit loved ones overseas).

Anyway, my husband and I are planning on visiting Mexico this November. We bought airline tickets with Mexicana thru Expedia.com. However, there has been a change and we need to change our travel dates (move them up by two weeks). I called expedia to figure out what are the change penalties, etc and the lady I spoke to informed me that there is nothing that can be done. She said I bought a ticket where I can make no changes, cancellations, whatsoever. She said I must go on the dates specified or I lose my tickets.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I can possibly do???? Please help me out pleaseee.

I was doubtful from buying tickets online, and I totally regret it now. I will never buy tickets online EVER!

Does anyone have any suggestions? Should I call back to speak to someone else? Should I call Mexicana to see if they can do something? What are my options? Or am I stuck with the tickets I have?

  12. Hey guys,

I have a question. Is it safe to buy airline tickets online. My husband and I want to go to Guadalajara, Mexico during Thanksgiving vacation. The best price came from expedia.com. Does anyone have any experience with expedia (or any other search engine) with buying airline tickets?

I am kind of old fashioned and am used to buying tickets thru a ticket agency. But expedia offers me an $80 price difference (times two, one for me and one for my husband, so that's a $160 difference). I am just terrified we may encounter some issues if we buy online.

I will appreciate any and all feedback.

    Thanks :D
