  1. My understanding is once NVC issues case complete, they put you in queue for interview scheduling. They receive available interview date and times from the relevant consulate abroad and then sends you a letter (email) informing you when you've been scheduled for.

I look to someone who has already completed this process in its entirety for a proper answer.

That was my understanding as well Liny. I think we are responsible to schedule the medical exam rather than the interview. Is that correct?

  2. No scan date. It will just go to CC. Generally 7 to 14 days with EP for Canada.

Awesome news to kick off the week...thank you!

My I ask how you found out? Did you get an email? We weren't always prepared so we moved one step at once. I read the wiki info but I believe it's lacking clarifications. What do you suggest we do next to be ready (besides pics and originals for interview)?

    Thanks

  3. Just got off the phone with NVC...which by the way, I was only on hold for 10 minutes which surprised me since it is lunch time. They just scanned my AOS and IV documents today. so my scan date is Feb 18th...even though it was delivered on the 16th.

So I was told this morning that regardless of when our scan date is, EP or snail mail, the packages will just sit there so long the DS-260 hasn't been reviewed. Sigh...

  4. Ok my husband sent two separate emails one with the AOS package and one with the IV package. He included the cover letter AND receipt letter in each file. Lol and that's how the person from NVC told him to do it when he called!!! So I think he had a different person on the phone!

Ha! The complete opposite of what I was told earlier. Thanks though :)

    According to these links:

    http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Submit_documents.html

    http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit/documents-scanning-faqs.html

My understanding is ONE email, one PFD for each document.

The cover page as far as I know is for snail mail and has a barcode to track the packages, not for EP.

You second my thoughts. I think I will do as instructed on the site to be on the safe side. One email for both packages with individually identified files. Thanks for your input.

  5. Hi everyone,

Those who filed EP, did you send one email containing separate identified PDF files for both AOS and IV packages? I called NVC and the agent has kinda hesitant with her answers. I read the instructions and FAQs and that's my understanding. Thanks

Oh she also told me not to include the cover sheet. Your thoughts?

  6. Hey, i'm still learning as I progress in this process, but i'm happy to share what I've already learned. I've also learned that the IV Application won't unlock until that IV Fee shows Paid status!! boooooooo

Thanks for sharing that info. Both you and I have over-waited progress in our cases. I'm not the type to despair but this entire process is so tiring.

I'm happy I'm at least entitled for EP filing.

Keep me posted always! Good luck with your submission. I noticed it's all sent :):)

  7. And confirmed!!! Case Complete!!! Wooooooooooooohoooooooo! Lol

So most recent scan date of 2-10-16 (from that really really dumb and annoying single checklist item), to CC of 2-16-16. And yes it's Electronic Processing! Thank Goodness or I think I would have imploded waiting longer. Seriously. Lol!

Also my husband asked about interviews while on the phone and they said they should be scheduling again in about 10 days after they "get the list of openings" for April. Lol this month it seemed to take forever for people to get their interviews for March... so I will just have to hope that we get lucky and get it quickly so my poor hubby doesn't have a puddle of a melted down woman to clean up!!!

Yey!! Congratulations! EP gives me so much hope.

  8. I see you submitted your DS-261 last week. Call them and ask them to review that with you over the phone. Once they do that, you will see the IV fee available within 24 hours. the payment changing from "in process" to "paid" is a system issue.

My IV Fee still shows "In process" even though the money was taken out of my account last Thursday. when I called on Friday to ask them about it, they said it can take up 5-7 days for the system to update. I don't know if it's anything manual they can do. I'm going to call again tonight if it still shows it doesn't change to "Paid."

Thanks, Liny! Just called them. Always there for answers.

  9. Is the student having their income being combined to help the income guidelines? If not there is no reason for them to.

The I-864a isn't for dependents to fill out but for family members who want their income to be considered also.

I thought so too...until I read this: "1. If you included the income of your spouse listed in Part 5., Item Number 3., any child listed in Part 5., Item Number 4., any dependent listed in Part 5., Item Number 5., or any siblings, parents, or adult children listed in Part 5., Item Number 7., each one of these individuals must be over 18 years of age and must complete Form I-864A."

Because my adult step-daughter is on my husband's latest tax transcript as a dependent, though a student, we listed her in Part 5 of I-864 but in no shape or form is she financially supporting the AOS. Are we misunderstanding the process?

Do you know if NVC can help me if I call them tomorrow? Thanks for your help.

  10. Lads!!! We got 3 NA's and I just rang to confirm - We are Case Complete!!! YAAAAAYYY!!! (scan date 8th January)

I'm over the moon! I thought for sure we were gonna end up checklisted with something.

No interview date yet. I read somewhere on here that they are finished assigning March interviews? Does that apply to all consulates? Does that mean we are looking at a possible April interview?

    Congratulations!
