    Thank you!!!
Everything went OK. I am an American citizen now. I applied for passport today at the post office where they kept my original naturalization certificate and they will mail it back to me along with the passport. I suppose that is the normal procedure. After that, I suppose I have to visit SSA to change my status
I wish everyone all the best.
    Thank you Visajourney for everything!!!

Thanks Jimmy. I am aware for the same day registration. I am so eager to vote. I hope to have this opportunity.

So what happened at the two appointments? It's a long story..........

I had my first infopass on September 20, the officer was very polite. I explained him that I was out of the processing time and I wanted to know why is that or if there was some
kind of problem. He looks at my file on his computer and told me that he sees no reason for the delay, that my interviewer still has my file and advise me to wait her reply. I
told him that this is not an answer to my question and that I would like to see his supervisor. He told me that he do that for me. He left for some minutes and turning back he
told me that he spoke with his supervisor, who is going to handle personally my case with the supervisor of my interviewer officer. He also told me that if I have not any news
in 10 days, to submit a new case inquiry or to schedule a new info pass.
As I hadn’t any news by end of September I scheduled a new appointment. The appointment was for Tuesday, Oct 11. So I went there with my son. I had to deal with the same officer of my
previous info pass appointment. We said the same bla… bla.. as at my previous appointment. But this time I insisted to see his supervisor. He told me that she was in a meeting and she
will be free after an hour or so. I told him that I will wait as long as needed to see her. I also handed him a letter I had written, addressed to my interviewer with cc to Field Office Director,
and District Director of the Chicago office.
He left and came back in one minute or two with his supervisor. She told us that she is going to talk to the supervisor of my interviewer and bla.. bla… We informed her that we had the
same answer about 20 days ago and nothing happened since. I asked her if I had to mail the letter as it was addressed and she asked us if she could handed the letter directly to my
interviewer or her supervisor. I said OK. Then she said that she would do that right away and asked us to wait her to come back. After 10-15 minutes she came back and told us that she
handed the letter to my interviewer’s supervisor. She also told that this was the only thing that she can do for us and she told us to wait and follow up the case status. The last thing I told her
was that the only thing they will achieve from this delay is stopping me to vote. Someday, sooner or later I will be an American citizen as I am eligible to be. We said thank and bye. I was
very disappointed as I hadn’t some real answer. I was thinking that if I wouldn’t have something till Oct 20, to mail that letter as it was addressed, but also to send a mail to the President of
US. I thought that it was unfair, as I am eligible for naturalization, that bureaucratic delay to deprive me of the right to vote.
In that letter I answered portion by portion all requirements for “SPECIAL CLASSES OF PERSONS WHO MAY BE NATURALIZED: SPOUSES OF UNITED STATES CITIZENS”, §
Sec. 319.1 Persons living in marital union with United States citizen spouse.
Summarizing that “Therefore, now there are more than 120 days since my interview date and by law a decision needs to be made and I am convinced that according USCIS law, there is
not any reason for my application to be denied. “
And as closing my letter I wrote “I am the only member of my family that is not an American citizen, which means I cannot vote on the upcoming presidential elections and I hope you
understand why I am so eager to obtain the U.S. Citizenship. As I stated before my husband is an American Citizen, his father and grandfather were also American citizens. We have been
married for 27 years. He is a PhD Biologist, with huge experience, excellent performance and numerous publications. He works abroad (at an international research institution,
*************** INSTITUTE, Greece) so he can support his family and fulfill his eligibility requirements for retirement in 2-3 years. For this reason I have multiple trips to Greece, to be with
my husband. We have two sons who both of them are 4th generation American citizens and permanent residents of Illinois. One of them is an electrical engineer who works for Com-Ed and
the second one is a student at University of Illinois in Chicago studying Mechanical Engineering. Thus, when my husband retires, he will return to live permanently in Chicago, with me, close
    to our sons.”
I DO KNOW IF ALL THE ABOVE RESULTED TO THE TODAYS OUTCOME, BUT I OUGHT TO FIGHT FOR MY RIGHT TO VOTE.

Well her demeanor changed favorably and she indicated i did excellent on the civic and English test. She stated that I look way younger than my age. I told her most people have have expressed same opinion. I got to sign all the papers and my passport photographs. I am optimistic but we shall see.
