  1. I have been trying to figure out two things. My wife turned 16 in one city and lived there for about 4 years. Then she moved to delhi and has been living there for almost two years. Does she have to get clerances from both places? Is there a specific format for this (as exactly what needs to be written)? Is the certificate obtained from a local police station or elsewhere?

    Any help would be appreciated.

  2. So my wife's case finally reached the New Delhi embassy on 10/3/06. I just called today to find out if there was any progress and I was told by the DOS that the embassy is still waiting for a date to become available. How much longer do I have to wait? I was hoping she would get the interview early next month since this is a CR1 case. But I am starting to lose hope.

    Any thoughts?

  3. A question for whom ever can help me with this minor problem. My 130 was just approved and I am doing my research about the next steps while I wait for a NVC case #. When I applied for my wife, I used my present address where I was doing my internship. However, I will be moving to a new address to start my residency in just a few weeks. So the problem is that when I fill out the 864, I will have to use the new address because that is where my new employer will be. While I was looking at the 864 today, I noticed something about having to report any change of address for the sponsor.

Now my question is that do I have to report the new address (my new house) or can I still leave the old address(my parents address) and attach an explanation? Also, If I do report the address change, then what will that do to my case at the NVC since the address change form is sent to VSC?

    Thank you for any help.

  4. The best I can tell you is to look at the USCIS dates with a grain of salt. Looking at the dates on the website for the last 4 months, I can say with confidence that the service centers usually are at least a month ahead of those dates. The best way to check the real dates is by periodically checking the timeline on VJ. That is what kept me going and it turned out to be more accurate than the USCIS dates. Once I saw petitions from late Jan and early Feb being approved, I knew it would be my turn soon and that is what happened. So I am sure your petition is not that far away from being approved.

    Gotta keep hope alive.

  5. I was wondering if anyone else has seen the following. When I first checked my status online in the beginning and as late as 1.5 weeks ago, it said that this type of case was taking between 150- 999 days to process.... When I checked today, it said the following:

"Your I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was received on February 13, 2006. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates."

Notice how it says nothing about the 150- 999 days anymore. Does this actually mean something or am I reading too much into this, speacially since my "Last Updated" date has not changed?

Just wondering and becoming slightly impatient.
