  1. Are you interviewing at the consulate in Belgium? I was under the impression that official documents had to be either in English OR the local language?

I got my interview date today and on the instructions it says that I can have them in the local language but they need to be accompanied by a translated and legalised version.

I have sent another mail to the Ministry of Justice requesting them in English, the first set they sent me were in French which wasn't really ideal for me as I live in Mechelen (Vlanders).

EDIT: forgot to answer, yes I am having my interview at the US Embassy in Brussels.

  2. Hey guys,

I live in Belgium, I have my second medical examination next week and then i will have all the required evidence for the embassy.

As the topic title says, on the day of my interview at the embassy, do i have to pay for anything there on the day or even in advance to the embassy?

I don't see anything about any fees or anything on my instructions but i just want to be sure.

    Thanks in advance.

  3. Hi, I'm Rich, I'm a British Citizen currently living in Belgium.

My Fiancee and i received notice from the NVC that the package had been sent to my local US Embassy here in Belgium.

The entire process i have always tried to be one step ahead to make it go as quickly and as smoothly as possible, so far so good! *fingers crossed, touch wood*

After receiving this notice, i have been looking at what the package that i receive from the Embassy will contain and i came across the DS-230.

Do i have to fill out a form in it's entirety for each and every single member of my family? If so how far does it go?

  4. Hey guys,

My name's Rich, I'm here today because I'm soon going to begin with the K1 Visa Process.

I'm the beneficiary, My Girlfriend Kim is a US citizen.

A little about our history, It goes back around 2 years and we have alot of proof of that but there was a gap of where we didn't speak because at the time we met and fell in love, i was just split up with an ex and in this particular case, unfortunately I gave it a second shot with my ex. Anyway, that time passed and around 2 months ago, Kim and I basically picked up where we left off and I've already been over to see her for a week and the love we have for each other is unrivaled, we speak of nothing but how we are going to be together forever and have a family etc, we're basically making up for the lost time. I have already booked flights to visit again in December for 3 weeks over Christmas and new year (It's going to be amazing, neither of us can wait!). This is also when i plan to propose!

We're wondering if it's really necessary to use an immigration attorney? Also, does the fact that we're not already engaged make any difference to the K1 Process?

I look forward to hearing some of your responses, I'm pretty sure I will think of more questions as we go along too!
