  1. No, my field office is San Francisco. Yes, there is suffering everywhere!

    I can't understand the USCIS customer service's enthusiasm to read me something I already knew. Finally I know what to ask and they transferred me to an officer today. But as luck would have it, their system is down for the whole day today - so call again tomorrow (means jumping through the customer service hoop again tomorrow!).

    I would much like to go to bed and wrap myself in a cocoon of blanket at this moment but I have to work ;).

    Will keep you posted and cross my fingers for your case as well!

    Is your field office too is Dallas?

    I called the same number and let them know that i need to speak to a tier-2 support person. They would transfer you then.

    Which number did you call for tier 2 support? My case was received on 5/15, finger printed on 6/10 and I have heard nothing since. I called the 1-800-375-5283 number the first time on 8/24, the agent submitted a service request on my behalf, saying I should receive an email on 9/9. No email arrived on 9/9 and I've called that 1-800 number twice after 9/9 but they seemed to have no clues what was going on, except reading the case status as on the My USCIS Case status website to me, or citing the processing time of my local office per the USCIS website.

    Your tier-2 agent seemed to be much more helpful - I just want to know if I've called the wrong people.

    I called tier 2 support again on friday. They said my background check got cleared only a couple of weeks back and it is currently under review. However they said my wifes background check came through right after the finger print in mid june but were not sure why she did not get in line yet. Guess they have messed up something. Hope they clear things up!! Best wishes to you.
