  1. Thank you! Now to check my email obsessively for the oath scheduling notice 😝
  2. I didn't! Just a handful of trips home to Canada (and nothing longer than a week). The officer struck those "older" trips from my application since they weren't needed.
  3. @Rekyrts I'll admit I felt a bit uneasy when he told me he was changing it, because I knew the evidence that you need for 3 year and I knew I didn't have all of it. I did bring some extra evidence with me just in case, like bank statements, but he never asked to see any of it, so it worked out in the end. But going in with an idea of what things will be like and being told that they're changing it - it was a bit nerve wracking.
  4. Interesting! I wonder if there's an internal change happening - maybe something to do with the new application process that went into effect April 1st? I applied after April 1st.
  5. Good news, I passed my interview! But I didn't expect this to happen - at the start of the interview my IO explained that he was changing my application to the 3 year rule, rather than the 5 year rule I had applied under (which I qualify for). He said this was "easier" since they only needed to go back 3 years for my travel, work history etc. Thankfully he didn't ask for any additional information/proof - I had already uploaded my marriage certificate just in case. I wanted to share this since I've mostly heard of the opposite happening in interviews (officers changing a 3 year to a 5 year). But I walked out with my approval and my status is updated to "Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled." It was just unexpected!
  6. On my application for N400 I selected "yes" when asked if I want them to contact the SSA on my behalf - does that mean the SS-5 would be done for me?
  7. Piggybacking on this question, do you have to make changes with SSA if you're already legally allowed to work as a permanent resident and become a citizen?
  8. I have my interview next month, and in preparation I'm wondering what the time post-interview but pre-oath is like. - Will I have my green card until I take the oath? - Assuming I pass the interview, what is my "immigration status" before the oath - am I still considered a PR? - Do you get documentation stating that you passed the interview? - After I take the oath, can I travel outside the US before getting a US passport, or will that make re-entry tricky? I would be traveling to Canada. Thank you!
  9. Yeah I went to the site where you type in your receipt number to check the status, and it came up with the most recent update, so I figured it's still in the system but freaked out a bit when I couldn't find my application haha!
  10. I applied on 4/6/2024 and got my interview notice on 4/15/2024. I went to log in today just to take a look, and it's not showing my application. It directs me to the home page as if I'm going to submit a new case. Is this normal to happen once you get an interview notice?
  11. I applied when I made this post (April 6), and just today got notice of an interview in June! This is *the* naturalization interview, right? I also got a biometric reuse notice too.
  12. I ended up deleting the application and starting from scratch - probably overkill but I wanted to be extra sure that I didn't have any carried over mistakes haha!
  13. That's great to hear! I am definitely doing this now.
  14. Thank you @Crazy Cat and @OldUser. That is what I was suspecting and now I feel better about starting over with the 5 year rule!
  15. Even though there's more evidence needed? It seems like the 3 year applications may be under more scrutiny.
  16. Several trips but only a few days at a time. Still happily married.
  17. I am a current GC holder by marriage. I received my GC in 2015, and ROC in 2018. I am finally getting around to applying for citizenship. I have started an application on the USCIS website, and I selected 3 year rule since I received my GC through marriage. But looking through this forum it seems like I can choose between the 3 and 5 year rules. Is one better/easier than the other? My application is not submitted yet, but I've already uploaded evidence for our marriage. Would it look suspicious if I changed it to a 5 year and deleted my uploads?
