  1. OP, I'm sorry things are this bad. I can tell you from personal experience that financial issues such as these never get better when one half of the marriage is so immature and irresponsible. They only get worse. I'm sorry but I don't think your situation is going to improve since it's a habitual pattern.

You know the steps to take immigration wise. One question though, is there an I-864 in place? and since your wife didn't work I'm guessing if there is it's the parents who signed as cosponsors if this situation applies to you.

As one poster already said, time to lawyer up. Become very familiar with your state's laws and know your rights. Depending on how large the city is where you live and the number of divorce lawyers, if you really want to make things difficult for your wife, schedule a consultation with every divorce lawyer in town as most will do a free 30 min. consult or charge a small fee. This will prevent her from hiring any of the local lawyers because it creates a conflict of interest. Good luck.

You look stunning and he looks absolutely in love.  Fantastic!

Why thank you. I still clean-up pretty good for an old broad. OR in P-math many (2x2's). Hubby is a charmer and pretty sexy too if I don't say so myself.

Do any of you here actually believe the true perps behind the scenes the past 6 years will ever sit thru a trial and subsequent sentencing?

No, but sometimes I like to day dream.

I hope Barr, and any other investigator assigned to this investigation for that matter, has a round the clock SS detail or he/they could be "Scalia-ed" or suicided.

  4. Last class yesterday, grading all done except for turning-in final grades to registrars office and  I'm free for 2 weeks. Except that I have to now get all dolled-up and look professional to go listen to the same 12 students give their final presentations this afternoon to the powers that be that I listened to yesterday. Gotta do the political thing, smile, smile and smile some more with a camera pointed at me. Uggggh.

  5. I'm not really sure how one would even set up something like this. I'm too honest and just don't think criminal.

When we were going thru the K-1 process a friend of mine and I were talking about immigration in general and she explained to me how some of her family were able to immigrate. She's from VN and she said it was common for older male family members to petition for younger female relatives claiming she is their wife and vice versa. She said her uncle did this and the girl (supposed spouse) was actually his niece. Then after the "wife" became a US citizen they divorced and she petitioned for her parents. She said she knew other people who did the same thing and there was always a fee involved.

And as i pointed out before their methodology is pretty suspect. Data can be manipulated very easily too. I bet you can give me the same data , and I'll use a different methodology that will sound equally good (well theirs is dodgy but let's pretend its not) and come up with quite different conclusions, using the same numbers.

Sure, anything can be "spun". However, the raw number is more what I am interested in and this source gives a good compilation. All the data is there with the sources, so knock yourself out. Why do you think it is dodgy?

Not the most independent of sites.  Quite right of center (some may call right-wing). .

I give far more credence to the source(s) of the data cited in their charts than I do any political leaning the site may or may not have. Plus they include their methodology and explanations as to conclusions in their end notes which includes citations.

  8. Oh I agree. Most of the data that I found on a quick search does not include that much detail. Instead they prefer to frame it as a legal/illegal immigrant situation. I'm sure there is data somewhere that shows birth tourism data  where the mother had legal entry and then returned home after the baby was born. Not sure if there is any data that specifically pertains to the number of those babies who later as adults move to the US and petition their parents. Probably it's in the I-130 stats.

There is no such thing as a zero carbon world, never will be, so it amuses me when they keep on going on about it, how do you stop forest fires, volcanoes etc etc etc.

I know, it just shows the complete lack of comprehension as to the nature of things.

I always laugh when one of my colleagues (I work in academia, so it gets said a LOT) starts talking about how the world is going to end if we don't eliminate our consumption of fossil fuels, close nuclear power plants, etc, etc, etc. I usually just ask them where they are going to get the electricity to charge their cell phones, i-pads and drive their electric vehicles?? One said well I live in my bus and don't depend on electricity. (she converted an old short school bus into an RV type bus). The truth is she has a gas powered generator, the bus runs on diesel plus she has to move it every morning and night to avoid parking tickets, has a 2nd gas guzzler car and she mooches electricity off her boyfriend by staying at his house most of the time. But boy does she hate Trump for "destroying the environment".

going to get nasty, really nasty.

The reality is that of you want to go zero carbon by 2050 you are also wanting to go back to an 1850 lifestyle and good luck getting the votes for that. Look what is happening in France with a relatively minuscule change.

Which would pretty much require the use of animals for transportation, food, clothing, lights, etc. So much for zero carbon.

The Dane has expressly forbidden the advent of rubia on my head.

What's wrong with rubia? I was born one, stayed that way for years. Now it's dark rubia with natural smokey (read gray) highlights. Supposed to be the "In" color trend this year.

My last final of the degree is finished. I thought I'd feel some overwhelming rush of relief or done-ness.

Just a big old womp womp, instead.

Delayed shock. It didn't hit me until the Hooding ceremony where I totally embarrassed myself by audibly sobbing with relief when my academic mentor draped the hood over my shoulders. Congrats on your graduation.

Update to the Duluth struggle: The Dane's shirts are also curiously too large and I don't think it is a shrinking/wash issue.  So, we are returning all of them (we got 8!) except 1 that I pawned off on my mother. The Dane is just going to go down in size, me, I don't think that is going to solve the issue unless they come in child sizes.

I've also got to take in this graduation robe that makes me look like I'm wearing a muumuu whilst starring on my 600lb life. It is so ugly.

I know that look too. Thank goodness mine wasn't too short either usually at 5' many" most things are.

Well, I’m probably by my measurements, larger. I’m 35 ribs, 45 overbust, which is an I according to some guides, but I can squeeze into a smaller bra because they are deflated balloons after breastfeeding for so many years.

Having a a larger rib cage doesn’t make one any bustier per se.

The issue is more that like with an lobean too I also got today. The bust fits, but I’ve got to take in at least 6in in the tummy maybe more

In my case gravity has taken hold and won't let go. I had to stop wearing tops that buttoned up the front, too many gaps between buttons. I didn't like being the peep show in front of male students. I did find one blouse that has knit side panels, so it alleviates the gaps but doesn't look the best.

    No.

The vanity sizing at Duluth Trading is out of control. 😆 I'm normally a large or XL on top due to the ladies (36DDD) and my general shape, but I can fit into a medium at Duluth. They had their $10 longtail Plumber's day t-shirt sale, so I ordered a couple of mediums as I'm apparently too busty to wear anything that doesn't go up to my neck at work (cue major eye roll here). These mediums are too big. My BMI is overweight and I'm definitely a size 12 or the likes, I'm no small on top. I get that you want to make your customers feel good about their size, but c'mon.

Oh, and just like I thought, wearing shirts that encircle my neck is super unflattering with a large chest. I look ridiculous.

Ha, you call 36DDD busty??? try 38H. Or in P-math (2x2x2x2x2+2x2+2)H.  Math really isn't my forte that's why I stick to English.
