We met in an online game and he came to visit me one year afterwords. We decided we were the real deal and then he came back to marry me, went back to the US to start the visa process and he came back one more time so I wouldn't spend our anniversary alone.
He's the most amazing man I've ever met, and as much as this process hurts.. He's worth the pain / wait.
