(WIBW) - A Kansas National Guard member has been arrested and charged after allegedly agreeing to take pictures of a Fort Riley military installation and obtain a helicopter radio for the Russian military. According to a U.S. Dept. of Justice (DOJ) press release, officials arrested Canyon Anthony Amarys, 28, of Alamogordo, New Mexico, on Tuesday, Oct. 28, relating to his indictment for the attempted violation of the Export Control Reform Act. Officials said that Amarys had an alleged in-person meeting with a suspected Russian intelligence agent. He signed a one-page agreement to confirm his covert relationship with a Russian intelligence service. "It was something that we did not set up and were a little concerned about," Dornlas said. "We weren't sure what was going on." Turns out GoFundMe created the page -- but Dornlas had no clue. HANOVER PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested a police officer Thursday morning in Hanover Park, accusing him of being an unlawful immigrant from Montenegro. Hanover Park police are now saying the department hired the officer in January in "full compliance with federal and state law," adding, the village confirmed he was legally authorized by the federal government to work in the United States. That is contradicting what the Department of Homeland Security said earlier Thursday.
