  1. Ok, i emailed them but got a strange kind of automated respond without helpful information. I am a petitioner. Do they supposed to call beneficiary?

I heard we can make out own appointments online on ustraveldocs. com if our case is expedited.

I just don't feel 100% secure to do it now. I will wait till monday and call them. Since I started the immigration process I hate weekends... LOL

    LOL

But they will respond to the email.

I think that is the default email for all embassies, because mine sends and autoresponder, and then if not 24 hours, then 3 days later they will respond.

I am not sure about your country using ustraveldocs, but my country does not so I am simply waiting to hear from the embassy. I have included in more than one email my preferred interview date.

  2. Well in my case, I have nothing to worry about as they have not left me a message if they did call me.

I already received the email about the expedited approval.

I have also been sending emails to inquire about case arrival to the embassy and they said they will send me instructions shortly.

So I am expecting to receive the p4 interview packet this upcoming week then.

Because my CEAC also shows that in the text for Ready.

  3. Ok, I need help! My case changed to ready after being in transit for one day only. What I do now? I tried to go to ustraveldocs.com and see if I can schedule my interview , but they saying wait after you get a letter from embassy . Also, they list 3 groups and I think I belong to group 3 ( need VAC and Embassy appointment), but I was scared to proceed further with my choices. What I should do now? Wait?

Maybe you should try emailing your embassy and ask them what to do now.

  4. i completed the ds260 form and submitted it but i couldnt print the confirmation page ( bad printer) and i emailed it but i didnt get the confirmation page on email either.

    it shows completed.

i tried to get it by ceac---- iv applicant --- view..... it showed as editable ... do i have to resubmit it again?

how can i get the confirmation page?

    DO NOT resubmit!

That will put you in the back of the waiting line.

But sometimes the email takes a day or so to come to email.

But you can always print out the review pages.

  5. Hi all.

I am preparing to send the interview package to my husband (thru DHL, do not want to take any chances), and I am up late and thought about asking you all what I should and should not include?

Keeping in mind that I frontloaded to USCIS (over 200 FB page conversations, viber and Skype, conversations and 5 photos)

And my case was expedited at NVC stage

Here is what I am gathering:

    6 photos

    copy of life insurance policy

copy of i864 (I sent original to nvc)

copy of tax transcript (I sent a copy to nvc)

updated (new client) contract (I am self employed)

copy of joint sponsor i864 (i sent original to nvc)

copy of joint sponsor tax return with w-2 (sent a copy to nvc)

    updated joint sponsor pay stubs

copy of western union receipt money sent to him

printed "see friendship" Facebook page for husband and I

FB post Anniversary tribute from me

    skype chat logs

    original marriage certificate

    My husband has:

    printed ds 260 confirmation

    printed ds 260 review pages

    original birth certificate

    originate police certificate

    passport photos

printed interview letter (once it is sent to us)

Will have medical package (God Willing--I have been reading the torture Senegal doctors gives its immigrant patients)

    Thanks all!

  6. Can I reopen this thread to ask about suggestions for making advance travel in order to take care of both medical exam and interview?

My husband will be traveling to Senegal from The Gambia (10-hour ride) for his interview, so that means he needs about 2 weeks in Dakar. Luckily we know people and he has some family there, but I still wanted to know what did you all do?

  7. So, BAM, everything has been sent, and now i just get to gnaw on my nails until I hear back.

Took me more than an hour to complete and review the DS-260 with a few minutes researching specific questions here and there, even having all my information ready...for those of you who haven't gotten to the DS-260 yet, I strongly suggest going to the guides and/or looking at the sample form available on the government site, so you can gather up all the information you'll need ahead of time.

I second this post...because it actually took me two days to complete.

I thought I had all the information even with the sample ds 260, but between my work schedule and the time difference between my husband and I, when I was working on it, he was sleep, so I had to send him the questions with info I needed.

But I will say reviewing the sample provided on the travel.state.gov website is super helpful!

  8. Did you know, that you can observe any changes being made on the visa case once it is at the embassy by looking at the updated date on the visa case status check on CEAC?

Maybe it is just me because my case was expedited.

But on ceac.state.gov, once I enter the case number it says Ready, then case number, then case creation date, and then status updated date. I checked it when I saw on DHL that the case arrived to Dakar and it showed that same date...and then I just checked it tonight...and it actually showed today's date instead...

I know that means I will be hearing something in regards to an interview soon, because I actually emailed my embassy yesterday to ask them a question and to ask them about the status of the case and in regards to an interview date, and the response was you will receive instructions shortly...and usually...in the American language...shortly means a couple of days if not hours!

  9. Hi.

I was browsing VJ some time ago, and came across a review of some kind in which someone mentioned a doctor in The Gambia, in which medical exams can be conducted.

Officially, my husband is supposed to get his medical done at least 10 days before interview in Dakar, however I did see something about one Embassy approved Dr. in The Gambia.

Any idea on how I can find that information?

Or is it my best bet to email and ask the Dakar embassy?
