  1. It seems that these two didn't understand and both obviously had their medicals and attended the K-1 interview and now the K-2 has a visa when they didn't actually want it now. The ONLY thing that they can do is to CONTACT the Embassy and explain their error and ask to have the K-2 visa removed from the child's passport and be noted in the file that they really want a K-2 To Follow at a later date. The child may need to retake the medical and pay the visa fee again but again, something went wrong. The OP has been silent on this issue and on any contact that has been attempted with the Embassy. This K-2 stuff is not hard. Kiev is an easy Embassy so contacting them should be the same.

So if I opt for K2 Follow to JOin, i will go without my daughter to the medical exams and interview. We are just to start with the K1/K2 application. Just to clarify =) Thank You!

  2. Please correct me if I am wrong with the understanding that: (1) if the K1 and K2 visas were issued at the same time - it means that the K1 awarded person travels with their K2 dependents AT THE SAME time to enter US? (2) The follow to join means after the K1 visa was awarded to the parent, there is a one-year application period for K2 visa application?

In case (1) should the K1 ans K2 applicant come altogether for the medical exams and interview?

In case (2) will the K2 applicant have a separate medical exam and interview?

OR is it possible to have the K2 medical exam and interview the same time the parent apply for K1 visa then just apply for K2 visa within the one year period? Is this the case or the follow to join K2 visa applicants really should have their medical exams and interview different from their K1 parent? Thanks

  3. I am a Filipino of legal age. I have an American GF who will soon file my K1 visa. I had been married before (no child) but this was annulled 4 years later. 2 years after the annulment, I had a daughter with a Filipina. We did not marry, our relationship did not work out, she left and now married with 2 children. I have a solo parent ID for my daughter. My questions: If I travel to the US using the K1 visa, leave my daughter for few months (K2 visa has one year validity) so I could establish myself as a married man and prepare for my daughters arrival in the US. If the time for my daughter to travel to the US comes, it is my American GF/changed to wife will be the one to take my daughter from the Phils. To the US. In such case, does my wife need to SECURE a CONSENT from the biological mother of my daughter so they could travel together to be with me? Thanks!
