  1. I had a nice surprise in the mailbox this afternoon. I finally received my Approval Notice for the I-751 I submitted a little over two months ago. It took CSC approximately 67 days to approve my petition. I never received an NOA1; just a biometrics letter and no touches on the USCIS website. Now just waiting for the Green Card. God luck to everyone still waiting for theirs.

  2. My husband just went to his 10:00 am, and even though they wrote VH for varicella, which means he's immune, the civil surgeon tried to get him to pay an extra $150, etc. for bloodwork. So, I told him to leave. Does anyone in the LA area recommend a good civil surgeon for the I-693a transfer from DS-3025, who won't extort money from you? We're in the West LA area, but willing to drive if it saves us $100!!!

    Thanx!

I found a civil surgeon in Van Nuys who charged me USD 40 to transfer my DS-3025 to a I-693A form, and another USD 20 for a TD shot.

  3. i actually created this tool out of depression. I was sitting trying to figure out how long it has been since they last touched my application, which was 41 days and everyday i would forget how much it was the day before and i would have to go back to adding all over again. so i did this and thought it was so much easier.

the funny thing is that as soon as i posted this online (yesterday), i got a touch the same day on my EAD. lol

Looks like you're going to get your EAD soon, hanster. Go, do, go USCIS!

  4. Dear all,

I posted yesterday here that I sent in my AOS application (with applications for EAD and AP) but only got a NOA on the AOS application but not on the EAD or Ap one. I came here on a K1 and married my now husband within 90 days.

Anyways, we called the USCIS today and wanted to know why we only received one NOA for the Adjustment of Status but not for the EAD application and the AP application. They told us we would have to file an I-130 before the applications for those could be started?

I am lost ! Why do we suddenly need an I-130?? I thought we did everything right. filed for the K1, got the K1, married within 90 days and filed for AOS.

    Anyone who knows?

    Thank you soooo much

You don't need to file I-130 anymore. Like you I also came on a K-1 & got married within 90 days. I received my NOA for AOS ahead. The NOA for my EAD came a day later in the mail. I don't think there's anything to worry about in your case. Just wait for the other NOA's and it will soon be there.

  5. Hi Audrey and all the kind listers,

I am in San Diego and same problem for me, they would not let me pass the test since the K1 was not valid for a period long enough... I will read the local DMV policies and maybe try to go back with the NOA for the AOS and the wedding certificate... Hopefully I have alittle chance they will let me pass the test... What do you think?

    Thanks again for the help!

    caroledfb,

DMV requires that you show some documents indicating legal presence in the US, and the NOA1 for AOS or marriage certificate in not one of them. I didn't try asking about those, but the way I see it, if the requirement is not on the list, they won't accept it.

  6. Hi All,

I could not find the answer to my question in the former posts, so I ask it here...

I came in the US under a K1 visa. I got married on 6 Jan 07 and I have just sent an application for AOS. Can I go to the DMV and pass the driving licence test before I get an approval for AOS? My French driving licence is no more valid since I have now spent more than 3 months here...

    Thanks!!!

I also came here on a K-1 visa, and tried to get my driver's license a month ago. Two DMV offices I went to here in California refuse to issue a driver's license if your I-94 is valid for only one more month from the time of application. They say you need two months on it. I don't know what DMV's policy is at your home state, but if I knew this was the case, I would have applied for my DL as soon as I got here. Now I have to wait for my EAD or Green Card before I can drive.
