Hi @kellyh. Thank you for creating this post. I am in the same situation as you  and will have to miss my interview in Montreal because I am pregnant. My cc date was Aug 2nd and scheduled interview date of Nov 6th but I am  9.5 months preggo with a due date of Nov 13th and cannot travel for the interview.

My question to you is about your baby. What was the process like to obtain documents for you baby to cross the border? My understanding is I would need to apply my my baby girls birth certificate then apply for a US passport interview with myself my husband and my baby to show our marriage certificate and his passport? I have also heard  the CRAB is strongly recommended too. What was the process like? Which steps did you take? How long did it take all together?

Also I was curious if you flew or drove for you POE? Could you share anything about your entry experience?

@NikLR you seem very knowledgeable on the subject. Do you have any advice?

Thank you very much in advance. I am just trying to create a timeline in my head and try to calm my nerves a little bit.

    Hi Jenn,

as your question is not related to the topic, I've messaged you directly with the answers to your questions related to CRBA and POE.

    Hope it helps, take care!

Just wanted to share my experience in case anyone else uses this thread as a reference which I did (thank you very much OP!)

After e-mailing the AIS people, they did confirm to me that the only way to reschedule my appointment would be to miss my original appointment and then reschedule on the AIS website, which I ended up doing. The day after I missed my appointment, I was able to reschedule - however; as many experienced here, there were no dates available. Only today did the calendar open up with 3 dates in November (no dates in October), which I've now booked. I had no troubles with booking my appointment with the old interview letter with Medisys at Montreal which is where I'll be doing my medical 3 business days before my interview.

    image.thumb.png.86a890d3424915a9bfed04df2cadf7b2.png

So to summarize, here's my timeline:

    IR1 Visa

    Original interview: Sept 4, 2018

Dates starting showing up on calendar: Sept 14, 2018

Rebooked interview date: Nov 28, 2018

Thanks for sharing and good luck with your upcoming interview !

((My interview was Nov 28, 2017.

It was my first time in Montreal... it was freeezing COLD!!! ))

    Hi

Im encountering the same issue for my husband.. Its all greyed out on the page theyre asking to schedule. How did this get resolved for you guys? Please reply ASAP. Did it open up after a few days or did you have to call? email?

Chances are there's no available dates for the next two months.. You'll have to keep checking.

However, I'd suggest sending them an email and ask about the calendar and date availability - the reply might not help, but at least you'd get some reassurance that tehre's nothing wrong with the site.

    Good luck!

My date was set by NVC. It was provided within 6 weeks of providing the documents, so it was really quick. I thought I should be able to find a date within next 90 days but doesn't seem to be the case.

I don't know. I can't find a date now even till 2020. As I said, this seems abnormal so I'll see what can be done here.

As I recall, when I tried to reschedule only dates for the next two months were available. Anything after that would be greyed.

My original interview date was June, after missing the interview, I looked at the calendar and a few dates were available in July and only one in August. (Image captured attached).

WIth that being said, I checked the calendar often and sometimes see that they would have a few more dates avail for August. Just keep checking, if you think it's abnormal, call them and ask !

My personal opinion, if you can reschedule, select the earliest date available and make arrangements. You've waited all this time, so it should be Priority that you attend the interview.

    Good luck!

Thank you so much. That gave a lot of information. I was under the impression that I would lose months and years in rescheduling. Im curious as to how you could check the availability for me. I'm enquiring for my husband who I have sponsored and he's a Canadian citizen. Im now a US citizen (let me make the changes in my profile). and we're talking about an interview in Montreal.

I'm sorry, I thought I could still view the calendar on https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/iv site - however, I just tried and couldn't.

As I remembered, there's always a few slots available each month, so you don't have to worry that you'll have to wait months/years to reschedule.

Congrats on all those achievements :) . I would like to know after how many days of the original  date were you able to reschedule your interview or rather , after how many days was the next date available? I know you must have waited for after your delivery?

Thank you, and yes I waited for after my deliver to attend the interview. (my doctor suggest I waited as well).

According to my previous post on page 2, I checked the calendar after my missed interview date. And the earliest I could schedule for was approx 3 wks after the original date, however with that being said, it really depends on the Consulate that your interview will be held at.

I did notice that there's always at least 2-3 days available each month.

I can't say how many days or what dates are available to reschedule. I'd check for you, but I just notice that you're from Pakistan and not Canada.

Whichever date that you decide to reschedule, just keep in mind that it should be before your Criminal Record Check/Police Report expires. (and medical if you've already done it). If either of those expire, you'll have to obtain new Report and re-do your medical, which is quite costly and time consuming.

Hi, Could you share how the rescheduling went? Did you get a long wait? Hopefully Youve got your greencard and the baby is doing well.

    Hi @hfarnaz,

rescheduling was easy, it's all done online through the site: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/ .

Once the original appointment has been missed, you'll be able to reschedule. After log-in you'll see a calendar with some available dates.

I'm not sure what you mean when you ask if I had a long wait. please clarify.

I've completed POE, green card received last month and baby is doing great :) Thank you!

I hope was able to answer part of your question. If you can clarify what you mean, I'll try my best to provide further details.

I've searched here and cannot figure out the answer.

We had our appointment to submit our CRBA and Passport app for our son.  Was a strange process and forgot to ask what's next. Agent seemed good with proofs submitted and said we were free to go.

Does that mean he is approved? How long does it take to get in the mail? Had to give them a return envelope.

    Thanks!

Yes, it means the application has been approved.

You should receive the CRBA certificate and passport in about 2-3 weeks.

We received ours in 2 weeks time. (From Vancouver too!)

  9. I completed POE on Feb 27, 2018. Assuming that both my daughter and I could be added to my husbands' health insurance from work, we did not look elsewhere. However, when trying to add both of us, his employer says that we had to be added 30 days after marriage (Which was 2 years ago.. and I was not in the country yet!)..otherwise, we'd have to wait for the open enrolment period which is sometime in Oct/ Nov.

Does anyone know what I should do now? I've search online and found this site https://www.visitorscoverage.com/ which has plans for Green Card Holders. I'm looking to get coverage until we can be added to my husband's plan.

I tried to apply for the medi-cal, but require Proof of Citizenship/Lawful Presence, Proof of Income, Proof of Medicare Coverage.

All of which I do not have, from the list of Proof of Citizenship/Lawful Presence, it does not show the LPR (I-551), as for income. I'm currently stay at home mother.

Anyone have advice on where I should purchase the health insurance from to avoid the penalty?

Husband and I are both not familiar with this health insurance issue, if anyone can guide us to where we should look or what to purchase, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hey can you help me if the rescheduling was done and how long you had to wait for another one

Hi @nehallakhani, reschedule could only be done after your 'missed/did not attend' the initial interview date. To re-schedule, you'd log onto the https://ais.usvisa-info.com site and from there you'll be able to see a calendar with dates available for you select to reschedule.

    Hope this helps.

Hi everyone today my case status change after interview after 8 months administrative processing to reAdy today hopefully it’s good sign pray for us ☺️☺️

Hi, just wondering if there's any note below the status "READY".

I'm asking because my status changed from AP to "Issue" with below note

Your visa is in final processing. If you have not received it in more than five (5) working days, please go to http://usvisa-info.com to track your courier waybill.

For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV.

Hopefully she gets her passport before you.  There is nothing you can do if you are in AP.  Im sorry but you can only wait.  If it gets too far along (like your medical may expire) then the USC can contact their senator and ombudsman.

Is the USC living in the USA?

Yes, husband lives in the USA.

He was here visiting us for 2 weeks, just left the other day :(

  13. Hi all,

Any help/suggestions/guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I had my interview in Montreal back on Nov 28, I was told that I was approved and that I'd receive my Passport & Visa in 2-3 weeks. It's been over 5 weeks now and still nothing. Checked CEAC and status is "Administrative Processing".

I'm curious, after your interview is complete. What is your status on the https://ais.usvisa-info.com site?

Should it be updated to "Completed" ? My current status shows "Appointment".

I can't think of anything that would cause delay except the Passport # on the US Visa site was not updated.

Not sure whether I needed to update my passport number on the US Visa site or not. (After searching on VJ, many say that I did not need to and to bring both new and old passport to interview - which I did and was all fine).

We just completed my daughter's CRBA last week along with her US Passport.. Seems like she might receive her passport before me ! They said it would take 2 wks.

I really don't know what to do, or whom I can contact.

I tried the number below the white form that was given to me about how to pick up my Visa, but they did not have any information.

    Help please?

    Thanks in advanced.

So frustrating…I absolutely get how you're feeling.

Any red flags you can think of?? I've got anxiety over thinking I should of disclosed a parking ticket I paid off. But I have my nexus, Canadian gov't clearance, and have no record...

I'm going to start emailing next week. I just feel so sad.

No red flags I can think of.

Well, I received a reply from them and the contents are below:

    "Good Morning,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

This case is currently under review with a consular officer. As soon as the review is complete, the Visa Unit will advise of the next steps.

We realize that these extended time periods cause frustration to many individuals, and we are sensitive to the fact that the purpose of the immigrant visa program is to facilitate legitimate travel to the U.S.  Nonetheless, the Consulate in Montreal, like all U.S. Embassies and Consulates, must adjudicate visas in accordance with the provisions of the law, and, in some cases, this involves extensive consular review and administrative processing.  While we cannot predict when the processing of your visa will be completed, please be assured that the Consulate and the State Department are aware of your concerns and will contact you as soon as the processing is complete.

We hope that this information is helpful in replying to your inquiry.

    Sincerely,"

Not much to do but to wait. I was eager to get my passport back to do some cross border shopping for last minute gifts, but that's not going to happen. So... back to waiting!

I assume the reply you'll receive after sending them an email will be the same as the content I  pasted above.

Holidays are near so cheer up, relax don't worry to much!

    Are you still in AP?

I had an interview on Dec 13th and was approved on the spot (K1 visa). The officer advised my passport would be delivered 1-2 weeks and I was handed the pink piece of paper. A lot of others who interviewed that day already have visas in hand, but I’m on AP. I’ve called the number too (ZERO help).

I’m assuming that during the holidays things move a little slower. But I’m beginning to think the worst...

Keep me posted on your journey!

    Hi @kat

Yes, just checked and still shows AP.

I sent an email few days ago but no reply.

Called the number and no help.

My interview is the CR1,, I was approved too and was given 2 white paper, one that says welcome to the United States and the other was about how to pickup the Visa.

Ceac Last update date still shows Dec 11 :(

    I give up...
