Hello, my mom got her visa already and she will be coming to US soon however, there’s been a change of plan and the address we put on her DS260 where she intends to stay in the US is no longer the address she will be going when she enter the US. How do I update this? Who to inform and how? thank you

Hello, I’m seeking advice regarding my mom’s immigration situation. Here’s a brief overview: Current Status: My mom’s IR5 visa is pending approval, and she needs to enter the US by the end of October. Situation: I’m the spouse of an active duty military member, and I am the petitioner. We are currently stationed overseas. Given our circumstances, I’m wondering if it is possible for my mom to enter the US and then travel outside the US within a day or a few days to join us at our current overseas location. If not feasible, the other option is to have her stay with a distant relative. ***to make things more complicated and just for additional information that might be relevant to the situation, we are starting the process of adding my mom as a secondary dependent of my spouse. This is to have her added to the orders and be with us in the US or overseas. But for the meantime, I wanted to get any insights regarding the above situation while the dependency application is pending*** Any insights or advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Petitioning Family while in the military

When we started the process in 2022, we were still in the US. We didn’t know we’ll be stationed overseas then. We just moved overseas in January 2024 -
Petitioning Family while in the military

Another thing we can consider is, we have some family in the US we can ask for my mom to stay with. We are planning to add my mom as military dependent to hopefully be able to take her with us outside the US. -

Urgent help needed! I am a US Citizen petitioning for my mom from the Philippines. We are a military family being my husband is an active duty and we just moved overseas due to military orders. We just received interview letter and we are to schedule for my mom’s medical. i am currently registering for and appointment however, one requirement is petitioner’s US address. We are currently overseas so we don’t have a US address. What should we do? It’s also asking for the intended port of entry in the US. Also, I have updated our address in the USCIS portal. do I need to update our address anywhere else? HELP!!!

I864 use of assets
jarj replied to jarj's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Just for verification before we sign the I-864A.... Since me and my spouse's taxes are filed jointly and the asset (bank account) that we're using are both in our names, the amounts on these items from I-864 and I-864A should be the same, right? I'm not sure this was answered on the links I've checked. Thank you.- 5 replies

I864 use of assets
jarj replied to jarj's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Thank you for this link that leads to a “portal” of informative experiences 😊. My plan would be to fill out the I-864. I don’t have income for 2022 so I will be filling out I-864A since my husband will be a joint sponsor. His income is insufficient though so we are using assets (bank savings) to qualify. We decided to line up a joint sponsor as a back up in case they require later in the interview. Would it help to include a letter in CEAC that says "We have provided evidence of our assets to fulfill the financial requirement of the I-864 and I understand that the final decision will be made by the Consular Officer." This way, we could probably avoid RFE?- 5 replies

Hello, I’m here seeking for advice. I can’t complete my I-864 as I am still searching for answers and hoping that others have the same experience and wanting to know what has been the result. Anyway, our household income is insufficient to cover the poverty guideline. We have a savings account that could cover the difference (x5). I wanted to know if anyone else used their savings for the I-864 and what were your experiences. Did it caused RFEs, delays? Anything else? I’m just worried that assets may not have enough bearing compared to income. But wanted to use it anyway before using another sponsor. Please throw any advise. Beneficiary is in the Philippines (if that helps). Thank you.

Hello, Did you provide the email that shows case and invoice number (just wanted to make sure since this is a sensitive information if provided to others)? Unless they will be the ones to upload the requested police clearance. Please advise. thanks -

Hello, I'm really hoping you'll read this message since this post was in 2021. I'm currently on the same situation and I can't move forward because there is no definite answer. Please advise how did you push through in requesting HK police clearance and how did they provide it. How long did it take? Thank you. -
I130 January 2022 filers for Parents
jarj replied to pavelp's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
EDIT... Thank you again. Looks like i'll have tons of separate questions as I fill out the forms. Sorry in advance. 1. Part 6 no. 7. should I leave this blank or $0? 2. I'd be putting my husband's name on item 8., so he'll be using form I-864A. That means we have forms I-864 and I-864A, correct? 3. Item 13, I'm entering the amount from the W2. From this , correct? 4. Part 6 item 24, using the IRS transcript, I'm getting the amount from this , correct? 5. Part 7 item 2, where can I get this? -

Gross or net? Is it ok to put estimate (since it's just February)? -

Thank you for the input. Also to add, we’re short for few hundreds to meet the guideline. We have savings and asset (house & car) that could cover it, would that help? What could be the necessary additional steps? We have some relatives here in the US as well, is it possible to add sponsors? -
I130 January 2022 filers for Parents
jarj replied to pavelp's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Hello, Just got an approval on February 15, 2023. Here's my timeline. Applied 1/29/2022 NOA 2/9/2022 Approved 2/15/2023 NVC notification 2/19/2023 Paid fees for both AOS and IV 2/20/2023 (status for both were in process after payment but when I logged back in, AOS is showing PAY NOW..... Should I just check back after few days? hopefully it will process) I'm currently gathering documents and was wondering for those of you who already submitted the AOS documents and evidences, did you include 2022 documents? I'm worried because I'm currently not working since November 2021 because I have to care for my newborn. I was planning to go back to work once my mom arrives here in the US. My husband will be a joint sponsor for the AOS. He is currently an active military personnel. I was wondering which category are we going to be under in this poverty guideline: I don't think our household income is enough if we are under the 125% (if it's based on 2022 income). What could be our other option? Thank you for your advice and good luck to everyone. -

Hi, I hope I'm on the right thread. I filed I130 for my mom in January 21, 2022, NOA is February 9, 2022 and Nebraska for the service center. Status is currently being reviewed since May 15, 2022. Could someone share a link on the next procedure after we receive a decision from USCIS. Just wanted to prepare ahead of time. Thank you.
