  1. Approximately 18 months ago, I submitted an I-129F application for my fiancée, which included her son for a K-2 Visa. Recently, I received an email from the US Embassy indicating that we are now able to schedule the visa interview at the embassy. However, there was an issue with the documentation: the information of my fiancée's son was missing even though it was included on the I-129F. I promptly contacted the embassy via email, and they rectified the situation by adding his information to the file. However, they did not assign him a separate case number. This is a problem because without his own unique case number, I am unable to arrange the interview appointment for him - the website requires a case number for each k-1 and K-2 applicant. To resolve this matter, I reached out to the customer service line of the US embassy. I was advised to get in touch with the National Visa Center (NVC) to obtain a case number for my fiancée's son. After emailing the NVC, I received a response a week later. They informed me that the embassy already had the file and was responsible for making any necessary changes. I again called the embassy customer service line and explained the situation, reiterating the NVC's response. However, I was again directed to contact the NVC. Despite relaying the NVC's feedback to the embassy, they stated that they were unable to assist further at this point. As a result, we find ourselves in a state of uncertainty. I am unable to schedule the appointment due to the absence of a case number, and my attempts to seek assistance from the embassy and NVC have proven unfruitful. Please any advice or assistance would be appreciated.
  2. We received the NOA2 early April - took 3 months for the NVC to process and send the file to the US Embassy.
  3. Scott,  how long did it take to resolve the issue?  Thanks

      your response to this:

K1 Visa was approved and is at Embassy. Noticed that only 2 case # were provided instead of 3 due to uncle having 2 children. Looked over i129f and I noticed that one of kids info is missing. Part 8 did not have additional child info there. Are there any remedies to this? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

      Thank you.

  4. I am dealing with the same issue. My situation is I included the child on part 8 but for some reason they did not issue a case number for him. I emailed support@ustraveldocs.com and they asked for a letter explaining the situation, copy of my passport and copy of the child's birth certificate. I have not heard back since Tuesday. Please post if you have success as we are stressed about this.
  5. I will expand further on my last post - any help would be appreciated.
  6. Received email from Consulate to set up appointment. Filling out the form to set up the appointment, Step 6 asks for into of child including DS 160 confirmation number - I attached all this. Problem is when get to step 8 and it asks case ID # for applicant and child it auto filled the number for the applicant but will not accept the same number for her child and I can not progress further.
  7. I received an email 3 weeks ago from the NVC that the file has been sent to the (Dominican) Consulate. I never received anything by snail mail and the state department website references an invoice number that would be provided. I never received this and wondering if it normally takes longer then three weeks? Also, have not yet heard anything from the consulate. Thanks in advance.
  8. I received my NOA2 on April 8 and finally received an email from the NVC on July 17 that the file has been sent to the Consulate ( Dominican Republic). I have never received a welcome letter - any idea how long that normally takes?
  9. I am confused as to when to provide this. This from the NVC Website: Complete Affidavit of Support form There are several types of Affidavit of Support forms (I-864, I-864EZ, I-864W, and I-864A). For detailed information about Affidavit of Support requirements and forms, please visit the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service’s (USCIS) website. You can also find answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs) here. Use the information found in these FAQs and on this webpage with, not instead of, the detailed instructions for the Affidavit of Support forms on USCIS’s website. Please be advised: Customer Service Representatives at NVC cannot advise you as to which Affidavit of Support form you should complete. After going to the link the o the USCIS website it says this: Affidavit of Support For Fiancé(e), Spouse, or Child as a “K” Nonimmigrant If your relative is either a K-1 fiancé(e), a K-3 spouse, or a K-2 or K-4 child of fiancé(e) or spouse, you do not need to submit an affidavit of support at the time you file your Form I-129F petition. Instead, you should submit an affidavit of support at the time that your fiancé(e), spouse, or child adjusts status to permanent resident after coming to the United States. Question is what do I do? I am utterly confused. Thanks
