Back in March 2014 a friend of mine was scheduled to have "surgery" in Santo Domingo. I wasn't even supposed to go, but a former friend of mine (a friend at that point) urged me to go. I was hesitant at first, and decided, "hey, you only live once, right?" I ended up going and was on vacation mode. My intent was not to meet anyone, only to go out and have the best 10 days possible. I went out, drank, and was merry. During the second day of my trip, my friend had her "surgery" and I was supposed to go out with my other friend... Long story short, since I am a student nurse, I decided to tend to my friend in the recovery room. It wasn't until the following day, while at my former friends in laws place, where I saw this beautiful woman. I was floored!!! She was drop dead gorgeous and I told myself, "I am going to marry this woman!!!" I introduced my self and simultaneousely tending to her sick grandmother. I think I earned cool point then. I asked her if she would like to have a drink at a local colmado and she agreed. It was history from that point on. I spent the rest of my time with her during the remaining 6 days there. I immediately knew that she was the one for me. I initiated her quest for documents and I went ahead with the 129F. Now, I know that seems a little crazy, but I didn't believe in love at first sight, until then. Still I had to be 100% sure, so I decided to go back to the Dominican Republic and spend another week with her. It was just as I thought. Awesome time!!!!
Now we are in the final stages of this extremely long and stressful journey. In a couple weeks, she will go and pay for the consulate interview date and will also schedule her medical exam. Once she schedules the interview date, I will be booking my flight and depending on the day, either spend the weekend there or spend a day and a half there. Either way, my accordion binder has about 10 lbs of documents and proof required for the consular interview. She will be here within the next couple months.
