I met Bert in July of 2001 through a mutual friend. He was home on vacation from the cruise ship and picked me up at the airport. We clicked instantly and became good friends. Each time I would go to Jamaica I would spend time with him and his girlfriend. When he went back to work we kept in touch. A few years ago he and his girlfriend broke up and I was there for him to talk to about it. We kept in touch through e-mail and cell phone calls. We would hang out if he was home on vacation. Last year his ship was going to Alaska and and Alaskan cruise had been my dream for many year so he got me and my 2 girlfriends a great discount so off we went. (totally awesome) He spend every evening with us after his 10 hour shift. He and I got talking and found our feelings were a little stronger than just friends so we decided to take it to the next level. He went home for part of his vacation and spent the rest with me. Now on the the next level of this relationship. He is my best friend and I could not be happier. I am looking forward to starting a new life here for the next few years and then moving home to Jamaica....
