My fiance Tarek and I met in June of 2013 when I came to Egypt to do research for my graduate thesis. I was an intern at a TV show in Cairo, and he worked there. We immediately became friends, largely from sharing conversations at the smoker's circle at work, and just over a month after working there, we essentially immediately fell in love. I have been living in Cairo since then, so our relationship is relatively easy to establish. We are now deciding that we want to get married, and that we want to live in the US. Our journey starts here to figure out how to make that happen as quickly and painlessly as possible!
