  1. ya, in the visa foil, study the longish sentence that contains the word 'endorsement'.

The I-551 will suffice up to one year as an endorsement of your permanent residency.

    Hi,

You should have an I-551 stamp on your CR-1 immigrant visa. As long as you have it, you can reenter the US.

    Thank you guys very much.

A quick question, is the I-551 stamp the blue one I got at POE? I see the stamp near my visa with hand-wrote A number and expiry date.

  2. Hello guys, long story short, I had entered the states with CR1 visa last Oct and finally got a notice of the delivery of GC in early Jan., anyhow, it seems the GC was lost in mail and I am in the process of trying to locate it or later I will apply for replacement.

I have an international travel plan in early Feb (for 3 weeks), I am wondering would it be a problem for me to reenter the physical GC? I have been searching on the forum and some said the visa on passport is considered as temporary I-551 for a year.

Thank you guys for your time. :)

  3. ~~moved to general immigration with other like topics from IR1/CR1 process and procedures~~

It can take up to 6 months for the GC to arrive if you paid the fee before the beneficiary arrived. Generally it happens within 3 months though.

Tracking number should be an IOE receipt number.

If you don't get the SSN card within 2 weeks go to an SSA office and get one.

Hi, you have to go to the social security office and apply. When I applied for my husband's visa, I also applied for the social, and when I noticed that a few weeks passed by and nothing, I decided to go there and inquire about it. Thank God I did. A week later, my husband and daughter got their social.

Hi... Can you tell me what IOE is? I am still unfamiliar with immigration codes, lol.

Thank you, we will visit the office by next week to get SSN and hopefully GC gets here soon.

  4. 10 days away from the 8 month mark, my friends. Still no word or update.

This is creating stress with my husband as we have different approaches to what seems to be an endless waiting.

Just curious... am I the only one in the august group to have been served with the "application on hold due to background and security checks"?

    Best as always,

    UnaMexicana

I'm sorry to hear that, have you thought about contacting congressman? Maybe that'd help a little bit?

Also, as an update, I received the case completed mail from NVC yesterday and I sincerely hope this luck reaches you and every Aug. filer.

    Cheers to all !!!

  5. Hi everyone,

Any NVC updates for anyone yet? We submitted our I-130 and it was received on Aug 26th, 2014. Just got the notice that it was transferred on feb 12th, 2015 to the NVC. I've been reading the forums and noticing that its best to wait a month before calling NVC to follow up on the case numbers etc so that we can continue with the necessary forms. We're halfway there though! ...keeping hopeful! :)

I'd say wait at least 20 days then start calling.

My case took around 2 weeks to get NVC and aother 30 days or so to get the case number .

  6. Hi guys, wondering if it's a false checklist. Our document arrived at NVC on Jan 30 then we received a checklist on Feb 5, asking for pretty much both AOS and IV package (financial evidence/ valid passport/ birth certificate/ marriage certificate/ police record). Sooner we got another confirmation letter, stating the receipte of my document and it takes 60 days for them to review.

Should I prepare another set of doc to send in or just ignore the checklist as I personally assume it's a false one, according to what I've read on VJ so far.

  7. Illinois. U?

    Its on your acceptance letter.

I read that April is starting to get approved now. Thats good news.

Interesting, somehow I have been having the idea that you might from somewhere in Asia. Maybe last time i took the last active time as your current local time or what :P

I do have a friend who filed in late March got her NOA2, I'm sure yours is on its way :)

Woohoo :) We are part of the August filers :) :) Our I-130 packages (for myself and both daughters) was mailed out this morning to Chicago :) Now the "hurry up and wait" begins!

Welcome on board and good luck to all of us here :D

  8. I have decided to graduate from grad school a semester later to go to my husbands country and spend 4 months there. hopefully when i come back he will be coming back with me or just have to wait another few months. I believe this is the best thing to do for my health.

Keep your head up girl, we are here to support you :) Just a bit curious, where are you from? I see we are in the same time zone.
