ya, in the visa foil, study the longish sentence that contains the word 'endorsement'.
The I-551 will suffice up to one year as an endorsement of your permanent residency.
Hi,
You should have an I-551 stamp on your CR-1 immigrant visa. As long as you have it, you can reenter the US.
Thank you guys very much.
A quick question, is the I-551 stamp the blue one I got at POE? I see the stamp near my visa with hand-wrote A number and expiry date.

Hello guys, long story short, I had entered the states with CR1 visa last Oct and finally got a notice of the delivery of GC in early Jan., anyhow, it seems the GC was lost in mail and I am in the process of trying to locate it or later I will apply for replacement.
I have an international travel plan in early Feb (for 3 weeks), I am wondering would it be a problem for me to reenter the physical GC? I have been searching on the forum and some said the visa on passport is considered as temporary I-551 for a year.
Thank you guys for your time.

~~moved to general immigration with other like topics from IR1/CR1 process and procedures~~
It can take up to 6 months for the GC to arrive if you paid the fee before the beneficiary arrived. Generally it happens within 3 months though.
Tracking number should be an IOE receipt number.
If you don't get the SSN card within 2 weeks go to an SSA office and get one.
Hi, you have to go to the social security office and apply. When I applied for my husband's visa, I also applied for the social, and when I noticed that a few weeks passed by and nothing, I decided to go there and inquire about it. Thank God I did. A week later, my husband and daughter got their social.
Hi... Can you tell me what IOE is? I am still unfamiliar with immigration codes, lol.
Thank you, we will visit the office by next week to get SSN and hopefully GC gets here soon.

Same here. I arrived at JFK in mid Oct and still no sign for either SSN or GC. We called for both like 2 weeks ago but were informed it's normal to wait up to 60 days (!?) Unable to track online with the same error msg, if I understand it right the tracking # should be the one we got after paying fee, right?
Anyway, good luck and please keep us updated

Have been on silent mode coz the life is crazy here, still would like to keep y'all updated that I got my visa last week after having interview on May 20. It's good to see many of you guys are also having progress, good luck on NVC stage as well as the interview

10 days away from the 8 month mark, my friends. Still no word or update.
This is creating stress with my husband as we have different approaches to what seems to be an endless waiting.
Just curious... am I the only one in the august group to have been served with the "application on hold due to background and security checks"?
Best as always,
UnaMexicana
I'm sorry to hear that, have you thought about contacting congressman? Maybe that'd help a little bit?
Also, as an update, I received the case completed mail from NVC yesterday and I sincerely hope this luck reaches you and every Aug. filer.
Cheers to all !!!

Hi everyone,
Any NVC updates for anyone yet? We submitted our I-130 and it was received on Aug 26th, 2014. Just got the notice that it was transferred on feb 12th, 2015 to the NVC. I've been reading the forums and noticing that its best to wait a month before calling NVC to follow up on the case numbers etc so that we can continue with the necessary forms. We're halfway there though! ...keeping hopeful!
I'd say wait at least 20 days then start calling.
My case took around 2 weeks to get NVC and aother 30 days or so to get the case number .

Hi guys, wondering if it's a false checklist. Our document arrived at NVC on Jan 30 then we received a checklist on Feb 5, asking for pretty much both AOS and IV package (financial evidence/ valid passport/ birth certificate/ marriage certificate/ police record). Sooner we got another confirmation letter, stating the receipte of my document and it takes 60 days for them to review.
Should I prepare another set of doc to send in or just ignore the checklist as I personally assume it's a false one, according to what I've read on VJ so far.

Hey guys, I'm finally here at NVC stage.
Submitted our DS-261 few hours ago and we can see the "pay now" for both fees, however, when we tried clicking on it, we were redirected to the sign in page again. Just wanna know if it's normal? Thanks in advance

Don't bother trying today. I tried about 2 hours ago and they were already closed for the holiday...
Thanks for the reminder, we didn't call on that day and was planning to call today but NVC just emailed us our case# woohooooo!!

Hello fellow visa journey users, this past September 2014 the NVC asked me the payment of 230$ which I think for my medical, but we haven't received any letters from them yet for my medical schedule or interview date. My question is how long does it take to have the interview date and medical?
Isn't $230 the Iv fee?

So after 22 days did you call them to find out or they (NVC) contacted you? sorry I'm too inquisitive......
Mine was approved on Oct 20 and the NVC didn't receive it till Nov 3. I'd say give it like 2 weeks then start calling.
I'm still waiting on my case #, might call later or after thanksgiving, hopefully it's assigned. Good luck!
-
Hang in there!
I am still awaiting i130 approval...
Are you calling NVC nonstop? Hehe I know I would!
UnaMexicana
We tried to call at least once a week as the wait time is crazy, so far, we got no case # nor IIN... Guess we need to be more patient
By the way, my I-130 was approved on Oct 20 and my case wasn't there until Nov 3.

I don't know how the officers at service center work on the cases but I kinda feel it's really random. For the Vermont center, I see there are many May filers still waiting for the approval but I got mine as you can remember. Just forget about the VJ estimated date, maybe you guys will get the approval really soon.
-
Congratulations on your speedy approval!!!!
Congratulations Jean!
Fr3edom21.
Congrats!
Congratulations! I wish you all the very best for the rest of the journey!
Thank you all. Hope to hear good news from you all really soon

Still waiting but getting excited.
It seems that some August filers at VSC have got NOA2, according to Igor's list and I guess that explains why my date of estimated adjudication is now around Oct 25- Nov 6. (How I wish it's real but we will see)
-
NOA2 is in the mail!
Oh wow, that's fast. Congrats ))

Illinois. U?
Its on your acceptance letter.
I read that April is starting to get approved now. Thats good news.
Interesting, somehow I have been having the idea that you might from somewhere in Asia. Maybe last time i took the last active time as your current local time or what
I do have a friend who filed in late March got her NOA2, I'm sure yours is on its way
Woohoo We are part of the August filers :) Our I-130 packages (for myself and both daughters) was mailed out this morning to Chicago Now the "hurry up and wait" begins!
Welcome on board and good luck to all of us here
-
Just got a notice in email form that our case was accepted and routed to Vermont.
Quick question, where can I find the priority date?
-
I have decided to graduate from grad school a semester later to go to my husbands country and spend 4 months there. hopefully when i come back he will be coming back with me or just have to wait another few months. I believe this is the best thing to do for my health.
Keep your head up girl, we are here to support you Just a bit curious, where are you from? I see we are in the same time zone.

Hey guys, just as a quick update.
I responded to the RFE that I had received a couple of days before Christmas on Jan 28.
I received an email notification from USCIS this morning saying that had taken action to my case. Logged in then it showed that card is being produced.
The RFE process is faster than I had expected, good luck to those who are still waiting :)
