Hello!
Both of my parents' applications have been approved by USCIS and moved to NVC. I paid the fees. Waiting for the payment processing.
My parents were born in one of the Soviet Union countries, back then known as Uzbek soviet republic, nowadays it is Uzbekistan. I think my mistake is that I did not put just Uzbekistan in the applications, I listed Soviet Union. So on NVC online account, I observed that my mother's foreign state of changeability is incorrectly listed as Russia, it should be Uzbekistan. However, my father's is listed correctly - Uzbekistan. I reached out to NVC using their inquiry form and provided my mother's passport that indicated her place of birth : Tashkent region which is located in Uzbekistan, but they refused to fix it, insisting that the information is based on the principal applicant country of birth. Which is wierd, because in my father's application, also says Soviet Union but his account says Uzbekistan.
Will it be an issue down the road? Has anybody come across this? and how did you fix it?
Thank you.
Tatyana.
