  1. HI, appleblossom The police certificate was issued in Uzbekistan. I am confused as to why they accepted my mother's certificate, but it is invalid for my father. It does not make sense. It seems like two different people reviewed my parents' application. They want me to fill out I864 A-contract between the sponsor and household member Proof of US citizenship Proof of relationship for this, I have submitted our marriage certificate when I submitted doc for my parents - no idea why they are asking again proof of US domicile
  2. Hello All, I just got an email notification that NVC updated my parents' cases. It was super quick. No complains. However, here is what they want: 1. My father's criminal certificate (issued by the police department, translated and notarized) is invalid and they are requesting to replace it with an "acceptable" certificate. I do not know what else to submit. How come it is invalid? I submitted the same document just for my mother and it was accepted!!! Please advise what I should do. Thank you. 2. I am the only petitioner for my parents. For some reason, they want information about my husband. Does anybody know, why they need his information? We did NOT apply jointly. Yes, we filed taxes together, but I submitted my W2 and paystubs to show them just my income. I did not want to involve my husband. Thank you. Tatyana.
  3. Hi Chancy, Yes, I did. What could be the reason behind having different questions for different genders?
  4. Hi Crazy Cat, Thank you for replying. I am trying to figure out what I did differently. I do not believe I checked or uncheck any boxes. Which box are you referring to? Thanks!
  5. Hello Everyone, I have been filling out DS 260 forms for my parents. Two quick questions: 1. I forgot to list all the countries where my father traveled in the last 5 years. How big of an issue will it be down the road? 2. I noticed my mom's form is different from my dad's. Is it a glitch? or has anyone experienced a similar situation? For example, I cannot add her education or previous work history. The form let me type her current job only, the hyperlink "add more education or work" disappeared. it is so odd. Thank you. Tatyana.
  6. Hello! Both of my parents' applications have been approved by USCIS and moved to NVC. I paid the fees. Waiting for the payment processing. My parents were born in one of the Soviet Union countries, back then known as Uzbek soviet republic, nowadays it is Uzbekistan. I think my mistake is that I did not put just Uzbekistan in the applications, I listed Soviet Union. So on NVC online account, I observed that my mother's foreign state of changeability is incorrectly listed as Russia, it should be Uzbekistan. However, my father's is listed correctly - Uzbekistan. I reached out to NVC using their inquiry form and provided my mother's passport that indicated her place of birth : Tashkent region which is located in Uzbekistan, but they refused to fix it, insisting that the information is based on the principal applicant country of birth. Which is wierd, because in my father's application, also says Soviet Union but his account says Uzbekistan. Will it be an issue down the road? Has anybody come across this? and how did you fix it? Thank you. Tatyana.

  8. Hello! 1. Approvals occurred about 2 days apart. 2. And yes, their status "case is taking longer" sat there like for 3-4 months before the approval. 3. Our applications were sent to Potomac first, but the letters came from Vermont.
  9. Hello All, My parents' cases got approved today at the Potomac Office. The Approval notices are attached to their cases online, they state NVC will send a request of documentation to the beneficiary. I thought NVC would communicate with the Petitioner, me. How does it work usually? Do I need to contact NVC and ask them to redirect all letters to me? My parents live overseas, I do not trust their mail service. Thank you. Tatyana.
  10. Alright!!! Congratulations everybody! I check both parents' cases. My mother's case is approved, my father's case is still under review, however, I see the approval letter for his case attached. I think it is also approved, the system needs to refresh. Onto NVC.....
  11. Current status Your case is taking longer than expected to process. You do not need to take any action at this time. Your next step: USCIS reviewing your case
  12. Checked the status of both cases, the wait time extended for 2 months. 😔
  13. Hi! Which processing time information should I believe? on the applications/my account or USCIS general information/the office processing time? Thanks!
  14. Hi everyone! I know it has been just a little over a month? Any interestng news or updates? Thanks!
  15. Hi there! I see a lot of people stated that their case status changed from 'received ' to 'being actively reviewed' Cades? 2-3 weeks after submission. My parents' case statuses are remaining 'received', and I understand it is still very early. It has been a month. Just wondering if it means it will take them longer to process my cases?
  16. Hello. Nope, no updates. Both statuses say Case received. No updates. Oh, and our office for both applications is in Potomac.
