Just called and talked to Yvette, she said our case is complete, just waiting for the interview to be scheduled, and they are still scheduling for October interviews!!!!
Paid still says Paid. lol
July 18th scan date

Seeing these increased fees, I was hoping to go back to usaspending.gov and find some new contract with Serco that would hint at more workers to clear this backlog. Instead I found they lost their contract. A company called FCi Federal will be providing support at NVC, but I haven't found when the change happens. Serco's contract has a completion date of Jan 31 2015, but who knows. OMG Just logged in to CEAC and AOS CHANGED TO N/A. OH MY GOD. A birthday present for my wife!! her birthday is tomorrow the 23rd !

Alright.... 10 more days until my 30th business day since IV package scan date. Time has actually been flying by for some reason right now, so the next 10 days should be no different. Will be receiving good news soon!
P.S. I'm trying out this whole positivity thing. I've decided that I can either be sad and worry.... or I can just put a fake smile on my face and try to forget about all this nonsense... and either way, it's going to take a long time. So I am choosing the fake smile for now!
P.P.S. I'm also choosing to pretend that the 60 day letter thing never happened. Ignorance is bliss!

called NVC and the guy told me that you have a minor mistake in your AOS so we are not going to cheklist you for this and you will have your case complete in few days.. so you should correct whatever we want you to correct then bring it with you to interview....... i m feeling too much relieve....... Thanks Allah

Dude, I have an idea for you. Why don't you apply for an expedite for a medical reason?
Before you send an email to NVC applying for an expedite, you want to see a counselor or psychologist to get a letter stating how mentally unstable you are now and you need your wife's support ASAP. Then, you can scan the letter and attach it with your email to apply for an expedite.
I hope it works. Even if it doesn't work, you'll get to talk to a mental health professional so you'll feel better (I hope!). Fingers crossed!

I need an attitude adjustment somehow so for now I've convinced myself that the reason things are getting delayed for me is because I need more time to prepare for when the hubby gets here. I'm going to try and think of all the positives for each day.
Either we can go through this process by making our own lives miserable or just take it as it is. In any choice we make, it will be just as long and probably just as painful. But we can control our own emotions and feelings for sure.

FINALLY CASE COMPLETE!!! IT'S THE BEST NEWS FOR US IN 6 MONTHS!!! WE'RE SOO HAPPY!!!

Hey Everyone! Checking back in after being away from the internet for a while. For those that were following me, it paid off to send my IV civil documents in early because when I was finally able to pay my IV invoice, my 30 business days for my civil documents was up about a week later. They reviewed my documents but unfortunately I got a check list for the PCC for UAE. Conflicting info on the reciprocity page vs the UAE - US embassy website so it wasn't sent in...now we have sent in the PCC and my new wait time is in effect! I've lost track of the document review wait times but hopefully it will be sooner rather than later as at 15 months at this process, I am tired of the wait...congrats to all those that I started with and that have jumped ahead with case completes! So happy it is working out for you all! Send good vibes my way so hopefully we can get a case complete soon! xx

WOW! I really feel like a million bucks! I just called and spoke with Gus, who is an excellent NVC agent and doesn't sound like a robot, and he confirmed that our AOS package has been approved with no checklists! This is a HUGE moment for us because I am the US citizen living abroad with my spouse, not working for the past 4 years, and we were somewhat worried about showing proof of U.S. domicile. I am so happy right now even though this isn't even a case complete. Thanks you to everyone for your help thus far in the process (especially Saylin, Duh haha).

FINALLY RECEIVED IV INVOICE ON AUG 14! IT WAS A LOOOOONG WAIT FROM JUNE 5!!!

Just received email with interview instructions today! It is remarkable how much difference comes of simply having certainty about when this process will proceed forward. We got an interview date of 29 September at 8:30AM at the London Embassy.

Finally got some good news today. We got our case complete, after seeing AOS fee change from "Paid" to "N/A". Called to confirm. Our last scan date was July 1 (mail was received on June 26). It's a relief to be on our way out of the NVC.

Visa on hand ( done)
Ticket purchased for August 11th (done)
End of this journey (priceless)
