  1. Exactly! Agreed, it's not like how it used to be. Thanks BTW.
  2. After 630+ days, the agony of waiting for my M-I-L is over. Her I-130 & I-485 was officially approved. We've downloaded the Approval letter from the USCIS website. No interview was scheduled. Just waiting for the official letter and GC itself to arrive in the mail. Man that was quite long wait.
  3. Hmm they might have your information incorrect on their system or they are experiencing a glitch. Have you tried calling them? I think your initial comment of sending via snail mail might be your only option at this point. Good Luck!
  4. Just my thought, there could be a few possible reasons for the error. Timing: Double-check the timing of your naturalization and the filing of the I-130 petition. Make sure you were already a USC at the time of filing the petition. If there was a gap between your naturalization and the petition filing, it's possible that the system is not recognizing your updated status. Data entry error: Review the information you entered on the form, including your certificate number. Ensure that you have entered the correct information without any typos or mistakes. Even a minor error in data entry can trigger the error message. Technical issue: It's also possible that the error is due to a technical issue or glitch in the filing system. I think your course of action of trying again may resolve the issue.
  5. The specific process and requirements can vary depending on the country and the type of visa you are applying for. However, in general, after NVC approves all the documentation you have uploaded, the next steps typically involve the following: NVC Case Complete: Once the NVC has reviewed and approved all your documents, they will deem your case as "NVC Case Complete." This means that they have verified that you have submitted all the necessary forms and supporting documents. Interview Scheduling: After your case is complete, the NVC will transfer your case to the U.S. embassy or consulate in your country. The embassy will then schedule an interview for you based on the availability of visa interview slots. The timing of the interview can vary, and it largely depends on the workload of the specific embassy or consulate. Interview Letter: Once the embassy or consulate has scheduled your interview, they will typically send you an interview letter or notification. This letter will provide you with the date, time, and location of your interview. It may also include any additional instructions or documents you need to bring for the interview. In most cases, you should not need to contact the embassy or consulate directly to request an interview date. Instead, you will typically receive communication from the embassy or consulate once they have scheduled your interview. However, if you have any specific concerns or questions about the process, it's best to consult the official website of the U.S. embassy or consulate in your country or reach out to their consular section for guidance. Remember, this information is a general guideline as I am not an attorney or practice any law. This is just based on my experience.
  6. Congratulations! That's an awesome news!
  7. I just checked on the status of MIL I-130 and its stating: "Your case is taking longer than expected to process. You do not need to take any action at this time." I thought the time frame for 1-130 is usually around 9 - 11 months.
  8. Greetings everyone, I would like to share an update regarding our immigration process for my mother-in-law (MIL). On May 26, 2022, we submitted the I-130 application on her behalf. Subsequently, on September 15, 2022, we submitted the I-765, I-131, and I-485 applications, along with a request for Concurrent Filing alongside the I-130. Today, we received approval for the EAD Combo, which is valid until June 2025. We are delighted that her EAD application has been approved. While following this thread, I have noticed that many individuals have received their Green Card (I-485) directly without obtaining an EAD first. This has made me curious about the process for my MIL. Is it normal for her to receive the EAD first, and then for the USCIS to continue reviewing her I-485?
