  1. Another question, the petitioner is the applicant's mother. His father is here as well. The mother might have to go back to her country to be with the son and provide care, especially that new medical issues are arising. What is the best way to proceed with this? Can we move the approved I-130 from the mother's name to the father's name since he will stay in the US? If the mother (GC holder and petitioner) has to stay with the son in their country for over a year, would that affect her PR status and the son's I-130? Thanks
  2. What is the difference between Table A and Table B and what is the relation between both? Does the date shown under "All Changeability Areas Except Those Listed" is the date when the applicant's I-130 was approved? Thanks
  3. They are not tech savvy. That's why I am helping them. Plus they are my parents lol, and the applicant is my brother. I am a US citizen. My parents are not. They just got here few months ago. Will the approved case go to NVC now? Is there anything the parents should do or just wait?
  4. Applied August 3rd 2023. Approved December 8th 2023. Turned 19 years old in November 2023. What happens if he age out? does that mean he wont make it in 2026?
  5. Hello everyone, Asking for someone who is a permanent resident. They filed I-130 for their unmarried son under 21 year old back in August 2023. Their I-130 was approved today. Priority date on the NOA shows the date they filed in August. Their son was 18 back then, now 19. What happens next? What category does the son fall into? Is it F2A? They are from Lebanon. What is a realistic time frame and is there a way to make things go faster since both parents are here and the child is there alone. Is there a risk of their son aging out of 21 or does CSPA applies here? Thank you
  6. Don't worry. Hopefully things will be fine and will work out soon. This is very common procedure and nothing outside the norm.
  7. Yes, they had traveled before. I know people who has never traveled outside Lebanon in their life and were still issued a DS-5535.
  8. Yes - the DS-5355 was approved after 20 days of sending it via email to the US embassy. The visa was issued the next day after approval. Good luck.
  9. For everyone here asking about the DS-5535 for US embassy in Beirut. My family member was issued one of these. We completed and sent it back to the embassy by email. They approved their visa and issued 20 days after submitting the form to the embassy. Good luck all.
  10. 5150 is a welfare code. It means an adult is having mental health problems and can be detained for a 72- hour psychiatric hospitalization when evaluated to be a danger to others or themselves.
  11. So the due date starts after the I-130 is approved? His case case will be "due" for what, an interview? If for example a such case was approved in November 1st 2023, the "due date" will be in 4 years? Sorry for the questions but I am trying to understand.
  12. Who determines the F2A option and at what point? I assume after the I-130 is approved? Regarding the CSPA - I am reading about it but still not understanding how it works. It there a simplified explanation? Will there be an issue if the father files another I-130 for the son? Thank you
  13. Hello everyone, I have couple of questions about the situation below and I am hoping to find some answers: Parents who are in the US now as PR since July 2023, wanting to bring their son who just turned 19. The mother has filed I130 petition for him in August 2023. Can the father file another I-130 for the same son (in case something happened to his mom) while the 1st I-130 is still pending? Any negative/positive consequences? Should the son get the visa before he turns 21 to be in the same category, or he is considered in the "under 21" category at the date of when the I-130 is filed/approved? The son now is in a country where a war is very possible (Lebanon) and the US department of state issued a "Do Not Travel" notice. He already suffers from anxiety disorder and what is going on making things worse. Are these enough reasons to request an expedite since the son is there by himself? Is there a way to get a reasonable estimate of how long will this process take? Thank you and good luck for everyone
  14. I have seen 2 people here who reported getting an interview scheduled in Beirut in about 6 months after getting DQ'd.
  15. Who is the french citizen? Regarding the wait time in Lebanon, from what I have been seeing, it takes between 5 to 7 months to get an interview appointment at the US embassy in Lebanon.
  16. Certified copy will do. I was in the same situation as you. The embassy called few days before the interview and requested the petitioner (me) birth certificate. I have the original one here. I sent a copy of it and they just translated there and stamped it as certified. The US embassy accepted it. Good luck.
  17. That's what I thought. It seems like just an auto update for some reason lol.
  18. Hello everyone, I tried to look if this question was asked before here but I couldn't find a thread. Family member attended an IR5 interview and were given paper to complete DS-5535 and send back. They completed this few weeks ago, since then the "Case Last Updated" date keeps changing every 2 or 3 days but the status still says "Refused". Last update was last night. Does this really mean anything? Thanks
  19. Hello, After reading different posts here I can see that in some cases the embassy asked to fill in DS5535 and either kept their passports or gave the passports back to the applicants. What is the logic or difference between keeping a passport vs giving it back? Is there really a meaning behind each case? Thanks
  20. I know someone who got their visa from the US embassy in Beirut after 11 months from sending the DS5535. Hopefully your case will be approved soon. Did they take his passport or gave it back to him?
