  1. Hi everyone,

I haven't been on this forum for a looong time

My wife filed for removal of conditional status on June 07 and, since it's almost a year, I told myself "let's go on VJ and check what are the latest news" and... WOW what a mess with Nebraska! :crying:

I tried to read as many posts as I could but I'd like to ask a couple of questions and make sure I understand.

So, bottom line, Nebraska is way behind and there is no way to understand what they are working/not working on.

My wife's I-797C states that her GC is extended for one year from date of expiration of her GC. That means that we're good until 9/08. In the case that nothing happens in the next few months, when should I schedule my info-pass and go to my local (Seattle) USCIS? Is it a few weeks before the expiration or what?

Second question: I see many cases are being transferred to other Service Centers. Considering that we filed in June 07 and have not been transferred yet, should I expect not to be transferred at all, or do they usually transfer cases just a few months before your expiration?

Anything else I should keep in mind while the expiration date gets closer?

Thanks to all of you and good luck with your applications!

  2. Hi,

We asked a couple of friends to write affidavits for us.

One of the affidavits has a vowel of my last name misspelled (...sen instead of ...son).

Given that I don't want to cause to much hassle to my friend, I had him manually correct and initial the error. As far as I know that has legal validity. Do you think a USCIS examiner could have a problem with it? I don't want my friend to spend more time and money to have this affidavit notarized a second time. But I also don't want this little issue to trigger bigger problems and delay the process.

What are your thoughts? Can I use the affidavit with the error corrected and initialed or will this do more harm than good and it's worth not including the affidavit at all?

    Thanks!

  3. Hi,

we're about to mail our I-751. We live in Seattle and will be mailing to Nebraska.

We've a one week vacation scheduled for mid August. If, by any chance, we get a biometrics appointment coinciding with our vacation, how easy/difficult would it be to reschedule the biometrics? And, usually, how much time before the appointment do you get the letter?

If we need to reschedule, how do you do that? Just call the local USCIS office or do you have to mail some forms?

Last but not least, are there reasons to believe that it would not be recommended to reschedule a biometrics appointment?

    Thanks!

    G
