Alex and I became penpals in 2008. We developed a very strong friendship and talked to each other every day online and on the phone. When I graduated high school in 2011, and was old enough to fly internationally alone, I flew across to England to stay with Alex and his family for a month. After meeting each other in person, we instantly knew that it was something more than friendship. We have been fortunate enough to spend a lot of time together throughout our relationship. He visited every summer and stayed for the allowed 90 days each time. I also was able to spend time with his family in the Uk for various holidays. We started our visa journey in 2013, and we are now married!
