Bigfoot Caught on Video in Colorado Mountains
yuna628 replied to TBoneTX's topic in Current Events and Hot Social Topics
How is it whenever someone supposedly sees one of these things the person has a phone or camera that is of terrible quality? *shrugs* Went hiking the other week to an area that is known for being haunted and having a type of cryptid. Did not see or hear anything other than a fair few snakes. -
N400 Interview Experience - Baltimore
yuna628 replied to yuna628's topic in US Citizenship Case Filing and Progress Reports
As an atheist my husband wanted to omit the "so help me god" part of the oath. The officer only wanted to know what religion or non religion my husband was and his reasoning. No evidence or documentation requested. He said my husband simply could omit that part during the ceremony. -
My husband had his Naturalization interview last week. Ironically the day after Kevin McCarthy got tossed out of speakership, so we wondered how that question could be answered correctly if it came up. It was quite a long trip for us, as we were on vacation in another state and I wasn't sure if I would be allowed in with him so he went in by himself. He arrived 20 minutes before his appointment. It wasn't too busy. There was TSA style security first, and then waiting for his appointment was about 45 minutes. You are given a number which is supposed to show up on the screen. His number took about 20 minutes to appear on the screen, so if your number doesn't appear immediately don't worry. His interview was about 10 minutes in length. The officer was very polite and no-nonsense. He asked for his NOA and asked for his US ID and his green card. My husband was very nervous and accidently handed him his UK driving license instead of his US one without realizing it. The officer was confused by this, but eventually that got cleared up, and had a laugh. He asked to confirm personal details and a few of the N400 questions. Keep in mind we had been initially nervous about tax questions, since we were unable to obtain every single tax transcript from the IRS (the IRS won't give them to you after a certain date), but were able to give them tax forms. But the officer did not want to see any of it. So I'd say as long as you have some sort of a combination of transcripts and forms this is not really an issue. He asked the six questions: 1) What is the economic system in the United States? 2) In what month do we vote for President? 3) What is the name of the Vice President? 4) Who is the Commander in Chief of the military? 5) What is one responsibility that is only for US citizens? 6) Who was President during the Great Depression and WW II? (hilariously the question that would trip him up the most) The reading was: When is Columbus Day? The writing was: Columbus Day is in October. He was informed that he had passed the test and that he needed to confirm the information that was going to be on his naturalization certificate. After showing him the Oath, my husband requested a modified oath, which was granted. He was then informed that he would be notified by mail that his oath ceremony would be scheduled. Later in the day the website updated to reflect his Oath ceremony would be scheduled, and the next morning his Oath appointment letter was uploaded. The ceremony is next week. All in all this has been a shockingly fast and easy process. Afterwards, since we were all dressed up we went on a nice date in the city before making the long trek back to our hotel. I hope this review helps others as to what to expect for Baltimore. It's a nice big facility that is not in the best area these days unfortunately. All in all the end of the journey has been the most simple experience. Thank you to all the guys and gals on VJ that has helped us through this whole process over many years.

My husband had his citizenship interview at Baltimore on the 4th of October. The staff were friendly and kind. The officer was very nice and answered all his questions. My husband had studied hard and got all six questions correct. He recommended immediate approval, and by the end of day it had gone through. Oath ceremony is already scheduled for the 19th of October. Can barely believe it's finally over. He started feeling teary last night. So proud of him! -
Sen. Bob Menendez indicted on bribery charges

Supposedly there is now an FBI counterintelligence case against him. -
Sometime in August Trooper Dempsey Walters, got into an argument with a 17 year old who he accused of wrongdoing (he was in fact not charged with wrongdoing), who was then escorted back to his parent's home. Later on that month, a group of teenagers that don't seem to be related, approached Walter's home to do a ''ding dong ditch'' prank. A 15 year old kicked the officer's front door and ran away. It seems that Walters appeared to initially believe that this prank was related to the 17 year old, so he went to his house with other officers to arrest him with enough force to injure him. While they did not formerly arrest him, he was certainly detained when he had nothing to do with the prank. When the 15 year old was eventually arrested, Walters kneeled on him and later beat the handcuffed subject in the face, breaking bones, all while turning off his police camera. He was unaware that even when his camera was turned off, it still recorded long enough to provide footage to investigators. He had initially called this in as an attempted break-in, which caused the department to use helicopter and K9 resources. Video footage showed that the teens were not breaking in at all. https://whyy.org/articles/delaware-trooper-charged-assault-teenagers-ding-dong-ditch-prank/ This event is just one of the numerous cases of officers doing bad things in Delaware, and it has been plagued by numerous corruption scandals, and events such as a man who was left beaten and robbed in a park while police officers literally across the street, refused to respond or send 911 assistance. https://www.delawareonline.com/story/news/2023/09/26/delaware-state-police-trooper-dempsey-walters-charged-teen-assault-prank/70963993007/

Other portions of the indictment seem to imply some ''light treason''. This guy has got to go away for the rest of his life. The wife seems to have been the major facilitator in all corrupt actions. Encouraging, transferring, and engaging in dealings to further certain agendas in exchange for lavish 'gifts'. She seems to have strong ties to all the co-conspirators and able to contact Egyptian officials regularly. Is she some kind of foreign agent? This article from a while back gives some details. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/sen-bob-menendez-indicted-federal-charges-rcna111447 -
It can be customary to put a photocopy of the DS3025 in your AOS package. Regardless of if you do or not, will not guarantee you from getting an RFE, something my husband discovered during his journey. What happened? We're still not sure. The RFE did not offer any clues. We could only guess that the officer was a newbie, had lost the documents, or was too lazy to check the file. Still, we complied. A brand new medical is not necessary, but in case of an RFE, it requires finding a US civil surgeon, willing to sign off and recertify an I-693 (the vaccine portion only). We sent in the sealed envelope from the civil surgeon (who had seen a lot of things but was also puzzled), a print out of the USCIS's own policy when it pertains to the K1 adjustment medical rules, and a firmly worded "educational'' letter. We were approved immediately not long after.

Whelp, this one is a doozy of an indictment. That's a lot of cash and gold bars laying around your house for the feds to find. Seems he was also selling secrets to the Egyptians. You can read the indictment here. It is INSANE. You could make a movie about this: https://int.nyt.com/data/documenttools/robert-menendez-indictment-document/e9ff4e956cb8dfc9/full.pdf There is a passage that caught my eye: "Third, MENENDEZ promised to and did use his influence and power and breach his official duty to recommend that the President nominate an individual as U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey who MENENDEZ believed could be influenced by MENENDEZ {....}" Was the President interviewed? What did the President know and when did he know it?

Quite a lengthy investigation going on here in Baltimore but the scheme involves scamming foreign investors into buying derelict property and convincing them that they are beautiful inside and that they are collecting piles of cash in rent. Unfortunately, they essentially become slumlords, owning properties for drug dens, where people are have died, been firebombed, or condemned. Several such properties resulted in the deaths of firefighters in massive blazes. If you ever wonder why there are scores of vacant and dangerous rowhomes in Baltimore, amid sky-high rent, and lack of good homes for people to live in, look no further to yet another weird problem the city has on it's hands, that it will do nothing about. One thing I love about the city I grew up in, was the fantastic architecture. These blighted properties once had good bones and now have been left to rot.

So why are they now saying there has to be a two-day 'stand down' for all domestic and international F35s? -
Stealth Jets are REALLY Stealthy

I have questions. Like why was it on autopilot? Why did the pilot eject if the plane is functional and could be flying itself? Why is there no way to like detect it? We've had jets patrolling the area like crazy this weekend. I'm guessing they are looking for something or someone keeps getting into the NOTAM/TFR area. -
Rachel Morin told her boyfriend that she was going for a run on a popular trail in the small town of Bel Air, Maryland. When she did not return, her boyfriend contacted police. The police said they had looked through the trail and could not find her, so it was initially thought of as perhaps a kidnapping. What was concerning to me is that they allowed the public to come to the trail and search, potentially contaminating the scene. We go to the trails and woodlands in the Bel Air area a lot, and after a few very frightening incidents, our list is growing smaller unfortunately and now we do not go walking/hiking without some sort of weapon. There were reasons to be suspicious of the boyfriend. He has a past criminal history, it was a very recent relationship. There were a few other suspects too - a creepy man was seen stalking women where she worked. There is also a homeless camp at the end of this particular trail. None of these panned out. Rachel was easily found by members of the public search party, within 24hrs of her going missing on the trail in a small tunnel, that is not very well-lit, but certainly open enough I have no idea why the police could not find her initially. While the police haven't mentioned the particulars of the case, it is said to be a brutal murder and rape. This is usually a busy trail, and no one questioned is said to have seen or heard anything. A few days later a creepy man claiming to have found her, was interviewed by the news and gave many horrific but confusing details to the press. Some of these 'details' continue to be falsely written today. They did not verify his story, and ultimately the police said this man was not only a grifter but he was lying for 'fame'. Rachel's family has tried very hard to enlist the public and media's help to find her killer. They have funds set up for her children. Have asked profilers to assist, and have had many charity events and held public pleas for help. The trail is now basically a memorial, and many from the town no longer feel safe walking. Some time later the police held a conference to announce that through DNA evidence, Rachel's killer was involved in a crime LA last year. We know little about the case as it involved the rape of a minor. But there was video of the suspect from behind - he appears to be Hispanic with some distinguishing features. As the weeks have gone on, it is possible the FBI has found links to another case in Chicago - and it is for this reason the police believe the suspect to be a serial killer or serial rapist. Rachel Morin left behind five children and a family that is desperate. Her killer is traveling and could be anywhere. Here are links to the case with videos of the suspect from the LA incident. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2023/09/11/rachel-morin-case-updates-criminal-profiler/70825144007/ https://www.fox5dc.com/news/rachel-morin-murder-maryland-sheriff-says-suspect-on-the-loose-could-strike-again https://www.thebaltimorebanner.com/community/criminal-justice/rachel-morin-memorial-walk-bel-air-PYYWZG7PPJFDJMJKMTNFRGPCJI/ https://www.thebaltimorebanner.com/harford-county/detectives-pursue-leads-in-la-chicago-in-rachel-morin-murder-investigation-7Y7VTH4OEVE6XEARKOYSIK47XM/ https://www.gofundme.com/f/rachel-morin-funeral-and-memorial-fund

I.... good lord. There used to be a time when candidates had to go through pre-vetting, oppo research, and all that stuff. Now it seems anybody is good to go and thinks they will be okay held up to scrutiny. Well honestly? She reminds me of the mayor of my town, that gets up to similar stuff. People only seemed to care about their activities once they got into office though..

Manhunt for Danelo Cavalcante
yuna628 replied to yuna628's topic in Current Events and Hot Social Topics
Truly great news! This once peaceful area is now safe again. One very good K9 took him down without firing a shot. Some prankster showed up to the press conference to ask if the police considered the possibility of what would happen if Danelo met up with another short man and walked around in a trenchcoat. The Lt Col was not amused. -

Last night he stole a loaded .22 rifle with a scope. The homeowner shot at him 7 times and still couldn't hit him. I was hopeful they'd get him last night, but.. once again we now have a armed and dangerous dude somehow escaping capture. When asked by the press this morning what does he think has gone wrong, Lt Col. Bivens that is running the manhunt said he doesn't think anything has gone wrong at all..... https://www.fox29.com/news/danelo-cavalcante-manhunt-escaped-killer-is-now-armed-police-urge-some-residents-to-stay-indoors And can I just say this was during a time when there was a shelter in place order informing residents to secure belongings, and this resident chose to, keep a loaded weapon, unsecured in the corner of his wide open garage, so that the guy just waltzed on in and grabbed it. -

Does a thermal camera detect someone in a network of concrete underground tunnels? Longwood's biggest flaw is perhaps their most unique engineering marvel. Miles and miles of underground facilities and tunnels. These provide heating and cooling above and below ground. Water is pumped easily throughout the entire acreage, held in underground tanks and reservoirs. Miles of electrical all underground as well as complex watering systems. The thermal system is even used in the conservatory with underground heating/cooling/humidity. Some tunnels lead out into drainage systems. It works so well and efficiently, and when they started their massive new building project, I got to see them put in some of the components for additions to these tunnels. They are truly massive! Without just spending days hidden in the thick grasslands and forest, this would be the best way to move throughout undetected. I just don't know how he could navigate them without knowledge of where he was going though. -

Danelo still is on the run. After chasing him with snipers throughout Longwood Gardens and claiming they had him contained... they did not in fact, have him contained. People really don't seem to get Longwood's topography and it's major flaw that allows someone to hide very well. It seems he was only leaving at night, stealing from houses, and then going back to his hiding spot. In this time he managed to obtain food, shave, change clothing, and looks like he's wearing makeup in an attempt to lighten his skin. He also was in contact with people who were assisting him. Calls to police of a legit sighting were ignored. He escaped Longwood, made it to a van with keys still in the ignition and drove north about 40 minutes before running out of gas. He even tried to contact people he once knew, and their calls for police help were ignored for a time. Yesterday police once again thought they had him cornered in corn fields, but it's apparent he's long gone. His sister has been arrested by ICE. At this point, he could be anywhere. So be on the lookout. There's a $20k reward. And he's managed to escape a prison and 500 armed men, so I figure anyone has a shot at this point. -
Naturalization Interview - Baltimore

How much leeway do they give you in the wording of the answers? (does he need to say Ben Cardin or Benjamin Cardin?) He's so far gotten very few incorrect when I've asked him, but a couple others he's given the correct answer but the wording is not 100% like the way it's written in the practice test. My favorite wrong answer was for "who is the chief justice?" "Robert Thomas!" He said it so confidently I burst out laughing. He'll get there. -
