  1. I applied for a K-1 Visa over a year ago and the application was accepted and her visa was granted late last year.

Unfortunately our relationship was turning a bit shaky and I kept stalling her entry into the U.S.

Apparently she figured out that things weren't going to work out...

I received a call from her that she bought a ticket and flew into the U.S. without my knowledge. I have no idea where she is now, how to contact her (she hasn't responded to my e-mails) or anything about her current whereabouts.

According to the K-1 visa I have 90 days to marry her after she entered the U.S., but obviously that's not going to happen now.

What do I do! If the answer is "hire an attorney" I need to find another option since there is no way I can afford that!

Thanks for your help! I'm freaking out.

  2. Well it's been about 6 weeks since our case (k-1) got to the NVC and it is still in "Administrative Review". Based on on the expanded timeline it appears that most people waiting for visas from China are in the same boat. I am calling regularly, but I think it's just to keep myself busy. Anyway, maybe the procedures are changing, so if others are having this problem... you're not alone.

  3. I have been calling the NVC phone number to find out about my case for a while now. I received the NOA2 about 4 weeks ago and, according to the NOA2 and this site, our paperwork should've been forwarded to her consulate by now. Today when I talked to a live person at the NVC they explained that the case is under "administrative review" and due to "the events on September 11th" some cases are taking longer to review than usual. When I asked how long it would take, they told me that they were unable to provide any estimate. When I asked why the automated phone line still does not have our case she explained that it will probably never be in the automated system since "the case is not being reviewed in this office".

Has anyone had this problem before? According to everywhere I look the usual time for the NVC to process a case and forward it to the embassy is about 2 weeks... did we somehow get selected for special treatment. Anyone else had this experience?

    Looking for consolation,

    Db

  5. I was so excited to see online that our case was approved (03/22/2006)...Tears of joy...I hope everyone has a speedy process and many good wishes to all...Thank you so much to VJ and all the members for all the information...April

Congratulations! I learned from the web page today that ours was approved also!!! Here was the updated post:

This case has been approved. On March 21, 2006, an approval notice was mailed. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283.

  6. I guess someone has lit a fire under those guys. They seem to be processing quicker now. I was really happy to see my approval arrive in an email this afternoon. I just hung up the phone with Tanya and we are very happy right now. :D:lol::yes:

Congrats to both you, Tiksman and Thai2luv! Just think, by the end of the year we will all be happily married!

  7. Since my I-129F is currently in line to be processed by the CSC I have been checking the processing time regularly. ( https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/Proc...nter=California )

Last month's update (February 12th, I think) said that they were currently processing cases received on December 31st. I was excited since mine was received on January 9th... I figured that they would be reviewing my case by the end of February. Then the March processing update was released on March 7th and the processing date was exactly the same (Dec 31st) !!!! Do they do this often? Did they get ahead of schedule and decide to put their efforts somewhere else?

Just wanted to vent my anxiety!
