So I didn't want to say anything in case I jinx it, but I just can't help myself....Our status changed to Ready and our case creation date changed to todays date! It also changed to a Nonimmigrant visa and the "jargon" now says some different things. I think we are approved
I hope this glitch with the printing of visas with DOS doesn't take too long to fix!
I am so relieved and happy. Andre even called me crying he was so happy. Bless his heart. We both saw the change around the same time LOL

Congrats in advance! I think Rachel and jake are getting married Friday too. ?. Are you planning to get your credential for Michigan?
I'd be doing the same thing! Clearly, you must tell US even before your family when it is issued. ?

It kills me that 3 (or more) of us are from Indiana....who woulda thunk it. Whenever Andre gets to come, I will be picking him up at the Indianapolis Airport also. Luckily whenever we finally get Issued, he is ready to move so he can buy the ticket and come in a couple of days after that. He is now hoping to work until the 25th and come either the 28th or 29th. I'm really hoping this works out
Congrats to everyone that has things going on right now!
Where did Rachel go? Are you married yet??????????? Don't forget about us!

    Hi All:
My fiance is coming into the US from the UK on July 5th and we are getting married July 11th. I am just looking over AOS paperwork now, but I wanted to know if we needed to send a notification of address change to the USCIS or anywhere else on the forms if the address will be different from what he puts on his I-94 and from what was in my I-129F petition originally.
We will be putting the new address on the AOS paperwork.....
    Much thanks!

We were APPROVED!!! I'm so happy. I can't thank everyone here enough. I'm sure we would've had RFE's, 221g's and way more meltdowns if it wasn't for all of you. You guys rule and I'm so glad we all went on this visa journey together

First of all, congrats for the approval. Secondly, it is hard to believe that the consular officer did not know which form is need to be return. The lady at Window 5 asked I-134 (original signed and dated), copy of W-2, and federal tax return 2012. One thing that the CO returned to me that proof of relationship such as pictures, emails, Skype chats, Skype video screen shots, after I came back to the embassy collected my passport with the visa, 3 days after the interview.

Another UK member did not have her I-134 collected at her fiance's interview either. Nich-Nick's response to her: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/497859-did-vo-mess-up/?p=7032702
IIRC, her fiance has been approved and was not called back to resubmit the I-134. I think you'll be fine. Congrats!

In all honesty, this is not grounds for an expedite. Think of it this way: Every person on this board (and we are only a tiny cross section of the people trying to go be with our loved ones) has reasons that they want to go faster through the process.

The fact that you planned your wedding without getting the visa ready on time means that you want to jump to the front of the line for reasons of poor personal planning.

The wedding isn't until November. That's lots of time to talk to vendors and pick a new date. Pick up the phone and don't call USCIS, talk to your vendors and venue about moving the wedding, now, rather than later, when you are less likely to incur penalties. Look at current trends for how long it's going to take, then tack at least four months onto that for delays. Remember: You have six months in which to activate your visa, then 90 days in which to marry. That's essentially 9 months after visa issuance in which to get married. So delay the wedding and announce the delay now, not later, and don't try to jump the line.

I am so delighted to report that, like so many others on here, the worry was needless. If you are coming to this forum with a history of depression or with a partner that has it, it may cause you a few days panic, but it looks like more often than not, it is all clear in the end.
The panel doctor was, in fact, new, and Jake was told today that there was absolutely no need for a psych referral, that the letter was just fine.
So apparently it was just that the doc had never seen a letter for depression or anything of the like, and that he didn't know what to do with it. Just our luck to get a new doctor, but I am very happy now!
They said the "passed" medical results will be delivered on Thursday to the embassy! Thanks all for being just peaches, and to Hotter Otter especially for the private motion of support <3 YA'LL ARE GREAT.
Side note and rant: to Corvusheart - Yes, the suicidal ideations were ages ago (in 2012), and he merely expressed to his doctor that he was so depressed by his anxiety and stress that he felt like he just "wanted to die" and it would be easier. Again, something I think is absurd to report as suicidal because it's what we *all* say when we're stressed, but he went to seek out help immediately. He was on pills for a year and a half (a year's worth of depression, 6 months of easing off of them)--and has been off them for 5 months now. She really was a stickler about his letter, his GP. Queen of Blades said hers was very kind. Sadly, Jake couldn't go to another doc for a letter because his GP was the only one who treated him. In the end, it didn't seem to matter though--even in the exam itself the doctor said his depression didn't sound very serious, despite the "suicidal thoughts" aspect, and Jake kept saying, "because it wasn't. I had some dark thoughts, and the only thing I did about it was seek help and try to get healthy. Now I am." I am just being protective bear, here, but I am quite upset because this does stigmatize depression. Surely there are better ways to screen people than this? God, in the US we give GUNS to people without this much fuss, but to get married apparently having some dark thoughts, pills and swimming therapy makes you a serious threat? It's upsetting. I hope anyone on here who has gone through or is suffering from depression doesn't internalize this process too much. I am off to buy my dearest love a nice little present in London--because I am sorry he had to go through the medical for me. I wish I could have taken his place!

I am sorry you are going through the "scenic" route to the K1, as I like to call TSC. I guess the only good news is that you are on schedule according to them. Some of the CSC Feb filers haven't received theirs, which is unusual for that given center and has caused alternative forms of worry.
I saw you opened a separate Feb Filer TSC thread--rightfully so. While I think all Feb filers should have a joint threat like this, I think VJ should keep separate threads for TSC and CSC filers as well to encourage a more accurate and supportive community. I see no one from TSC has joined your Feb TSC thread---I hope they will now so you can find better and less depressing support for your needs. That said, we are also here for you and when your NOA2 does come in the 5 month period (and it will!), you will be quite pleased at how fast it all moves--within two months of the NOA2 you'll have your interview!! Don't give up on that October wedding just yet!!

It's great that it's all okay now, hopefully the new Doctor won't do the same thing again!
You are right about the system stigmatizing depression, it's bad enough dealing with peoples outdated attitudes towards it "oh just cheer up!" without having to prove that you are not a threat to yourself or others because of it. It's very frustrating and hopefully it will change because anecdotally it is becoming more and more common.
On the topic of buying your fiancé a gift... I got home from the interview to find my wife had ordered me this to say thank you for doing the medical and interview

Hah! Goodness, yeah... I'm going to keep at it until I get that date - I've heard that the embassy can be really cumbersome when it comes to sending out those letters. They really should somehow link it to the CEAC status so this wouldn't be a problem...
I can't be dealing with getting the letter 2 weeks before the interview like you did - I can save a ton of money by booking train tickets far in advance (I live quite far from London), and I'd like to get the time off work in good time. Plus I like to mull things over in my head for weeks, and knowing the date now would let me do that
    Thank you again!

That's exactly what the advisor told me - that they don't handle K1 cases any more, and they gave me the NVC number (+1 603 334 0700) to call. He did say that it'll say 'line busy' a lot, but to keep trying and I'll get into the queue eventually. So there is a way!
I'm determined to get this interview date. It's really important I get it sooner rather than later, as it dictates basically all the family plans! I'll be flying out almost as soon as I get my visa (probably a week after the interview) - and it'd be so nice to actually have a better idea.
I'll keep trying and let you know! Thanks for your help!

paddington_bear reacted to Hotter Otter in Boko Haram leader kidnapped schoolgirls have "submitted to Islam"
Slavery as a problem far predates Islam... the Pyramids weren't built by unionized labour were they. The west was hardly shy about utilising slaves either.
The problem is when one race believes itself superior to another in whatever way. Romans- Roman citizens couldn't be slaves but if you weren't a citizen your life was dirt. Europeans and Americans using slave labour because lives of Africans were cheap. African tribes hacking each other to death like in Rwanda because they don't want to be ruled by the other tribe. Japanese using Chinese and Western prisoners of war as slave labour because they were just foreigners. In this case the Islamists believe themselves superior to the "infidels" and treat them accordingly.
I know it's easy in your right wing world of looking through the wrong end of the telescope to blame Islam for everything because you believe all the propaganda but there are evil people in every race and religion!
