Through a fortuitous series of events, I met a beautiful girl from Chile; and over time be became good friends. Then one day (many many months later) we both discovered we shared in a common vision for our respective futures and we both had developed a deep, true, love for one another. And in Dec. 2013, my best friend became my wife.
So, here we are. We are nervous as we begin the journey of completing the AOS for her/us. We are more than ready to embark upon this journey and look forward with sharing it with others on this website. Presently, we are located in San Diego, CA. A good friend told us of this website and so we have been reading up on the experiences of others who are ahead of us and/or came before us with this whole AOS process.
Presently, our plan is to gather all requisite supporting documentation, so we may then submit the I-130/I-485 forms packets (ETA: within a week or two).
We are open to any helpful suggestions others may have regarding any aspect of process; so feel free to contact us directly or via memo.
In closing, I have to say that the journey does appear daunting; at best. Not sure it matters, but we are not planning on obtaining legal counsel to drive the process (although we may meet with an attn. or two for a review of our docs before submission). [Note: This decision is based upon our belief that we are both smart, educated, patient, honest, and .... hopeful (I suppose you might read: naive).
Cheers to a new journey .... !
++++ Update, we have completed our interview and my wife has obtained her green card. Best wishes and good luck to you all on your own journey's ....
