  1. We do have our engagement paper. When I looked at the denial form, it did not state of photos of our engagement ceremony, it state my income and his birthday was not translate to English even the form has both English and Lao on it.

If that is the case... you could just quickly get a co-sponsor and submit a new I-134 from the co-sponsor. I would not wait to re-apply with a new K1 application. FI you did, it will mean that you will have to wait another year before you're at this point again.

I think they are just trying to add more to their case so they can deny you.

  2. My income and not enough evidence of our relationship. We didn't have pictures to proof of our engagement. Should I call them to check how long I should wait?

In Laos, it is useful to get a "Engagement Paper" from the local mayor and district office. It is about 200,000 Kips or 30 US dollars. Did you happen to get one of these done? If NOT, you might want to consider it for next time. This official document and a Photo of the engagement party is all you need.

  3. Question for everyone... I am in the same position as the original poster.

How do I know when my petition is received by the NVC? Once my petition does leaves the NVC, do I get another notice?

Someone posted that I can contact the Embassy 2 weeks after my NOA2, how will they know who I am (Do I use my same "WAC" number as reference")

Thank you and sorry for being such a noob in this matter. I guess I am just too excited.

  4. We sent our packet 3 (including ds-160) in after the CEAC site was updated to a "READY" status. I confirmed with the Embassy in Bangkok that this was acceptable and they had confirmed that it was. This may not be the case with all embassies, however.

    All-

I have been following this thread very closely because I am in the same situation. So thank you every and please keep the suggestion/advices coming.

Thane - can you please tell me what "CEAC" stands for? That's not the same as the National Visa Center?

    thanks,

  5. Hello Everyone,

First of, this is an awesome site and has saved me a ton of time and money so far... Truly this site is a gift from above.

Last Friday I got a text from USCIS that my petition was approved.

    Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)
Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity
On March 14, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice.....

I have searched this site and there are some conflicting posts on what I need to do next. If possible, can someone please point me in the right direction on what I need to do next? Please?

    Thank you in advance...

    N
