  1. Glenn Greenwald has media dead to rights on Hunter Biden laptop coverup, ‘a gigantic scandal’ in its own right A vital reminder: the media outlets that always tell you they fight "disinformation" united right before the 2020 election to spread an absolute lie: this laptop was "Russian disinformation." I knew it was a lie right away and staked my career on it. They lied *on purpose*. https://t.co/fsPdA5HS7W — Glenn Greenwald (@ggreenwald) November 21, 2022 https://twitchy.com/sarahd-313035/2022/11/21/glenn-greenwald-has-media-dead-to-rights-on-hunter-biden-laptop-coverup-a-gigantic-scandal-in-its-own-right/
  2. I wonder if the hack Leslie Stalh will be apologizing to Trump? CBS ‘confirms’ Hunter Biden laptop is real 769 days after Post broke story https://nypost.com/2022/11/21/cbs-confirms-hunter-biden-laptop-is-real-769-days-after-post-broke-story/
  3. Hmm, how did this freeloader actually get elected? Another day, another scandal! New Orleans' Dem mayor is accused of using taxpayer cash for hotel upgrades, after previously justifying first class flights by branding economy class unsafe for black women https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11455835/New-Orleans-mayor-accused-using-taxpayer-cash-hotel-upgrades-class-flights.html
  4. No real plans for this. Needed a new iPad recently so we decided that was my Christmas present.
  5. I agree, back when my now wife and I were doing the K1, she sent me a qualified .jpeg and I sized them and printed them out on photo paper for submission of the I129F (no online option for that process). For your case it is even easier since you can file the I130 online which is much easier. Good Luck! As an aside, I grew up in Bay City and get there often, so it is nice to see someone from there in the VJ family. 😀
  6. Covid related, but this goes much further. Apparently, Massachusetts is taking lessons from China. Massachusetts, Google Installed ‘Spyware’ Onto Phones To Track COVID Cases Without Users Knowing, Lawsuit Alleges “The Massachusetts DPH, like any other government actor, is bound by state and federal constitutional and legal constraints on its conduct,” NCLA Litigation Counsel Peggy Little said, according to a press release. “This ‘android attack,’ deliberately designed to override the constitutional and legal rights of citizens to be free from government intrusions upon their privacy without their consent, reads like dystopian science fiction — and must be swiftly invalidated by the court.” The Mass. Dept. of Public Health worked with Google to auto-install spyware on the smartphones of more than 1 million Commonwealth residents, without their knowledge or consent, in a misguided effort to combat Covid-19. The NCLA claimed Tuesday it did not know of any other state using a “similar surreptitious strategy of auto-installing contact-tracing apps,” citing at least two dozen other states that utilized contact tracing apps in the lawsuit. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/massachusetts-google-installed-spyware-onto-phones-to-track-covid-cases-without-users-knowing-lawsuit-alleges/ar-AA14cW9w
  7. This could be interesting. Personally, would not be really confident with a single pilot especially considering all the stuff that has been happening over the past three years. This in addition to all the Air Disaster shows I have seen, in particular the ones where the plane was saved (reference NW Airlines Flight 85, Qantas Flight 32, TACA flight 110, or Air Canada flight 143 “Gimli Glider”). With the issues involved in these incidents, I really doubt it would have ended positively with a single pilot). Airlines want you to get comfortable with flying without a co-pilot. Pilots—and fliers—are not convinced Airlines and regulators are pushing to have just one pilot in the cockpit of passenger jets instead of two. It would lower costs and ease pressure from crew shortages, but placing such responsibility on a single person at the controls is unsettling for some. Over 40 countries including Germany, the UK and New Zealand have asked the United Nations body that sets aviation standards to help make single-pilot flights a safe reality. The European Union Aviation Safety Agency has also been working with planemakers to determine how solo flights would operate and preparing rules to oversee them. EASA said such services could start in 2027. The plan doesn’t sit well with pilots. It’s a hard sell for passengers, too. Tony Lucas, an Airbus SE A330 captain for Qantas Airways Ltd. and president of the Australian & International Pilots Association, is concerned that a lone pilot might be overwhelmed by an emergency before anyone else has time to reach the cockpit to help. https://fortune.com/2022/11/21/airlines-pushing-one-pilot-in-cockpit-passenger-jets-instead-of-two/
  8. There was no response, the organizer, @Chancy, simply moved your post to the proper forum. As to your question, there is no way to tell as we do not know the entire case history, but there is one thing for certain, until you complete the medical exam, the visa will not be issued. Good Luck!
  9. No need for a new I130. Just include a copy of the NOA you received from the I130 you filed in August. Good Luck!
  10. Safest way is to take a brief sabbatical come to the US, get married and file the AOS package as soon as possible including the EAD. You would have grounds for requesting an EAD expedite with a current job. I assume your company is not interested in sponsoring you for a employment visa, so talk it over with your boss, I would hope they would be understanding. Good Luck!
  11. Finally, some common sense. Florida medical board votes to ban gender-affirming care for transgender minors After five hours of tense testimony and protests, the Florida Board of Medicine voted Friday to start drafting a rule that would bar all minors in the state from receiving puberty blockers, hormone therapy or surgeries as treatment for gender dysphoria. Florida’s medical board is the first in the country to pursue such a rule, but Florida is among a wave of states where officials have attempted to restrict gender-affirming medical care for transgender minors. By the end of Friday’s five-hour meeting, protesters began yelling “Shame!” at the board members, and some of them staged a “die-in” in the lobby of the Orlando International Airport, where the meeting was held. https://www.nbcnews.com/nbc-out/out-news/florida-medical-board-votes-ban-gender-affirming-care-transgender-mino-rcna54632
  12. Since we are into early voting in many states, and election day is less than 3 weeks away, thought it was time for an overall election thread. This year may be interesting. I will start it with RCP projecting a win for Herschel Walker and Adam Laxalt will win in GA and NV respectively. They flipped on Mark Kelly in AZ, but I think that one is still up in the air. https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2022/senate/elections-map-rcp-projection.html
  13. So these supposedly "educated" and certainly privileged eco-warriors are hurting everyday people for a utopian view? Maybe it is time to bring back public caning, and make sure these people are making restitution for their actions. Meet the Animal Rebellion ‘milk pour’ protesters you’ve been seeing all over Twitter Skylar was among the Animal Rebellion protestors pouring milk in Harrods. They stood at the front of a meat counter and emptied glass bottles of milk onto the floor, before being escorted out. They later told the Daily Mail: “Supporters of Animal Rebellion are back acting because Liz Truss and Ranil Jayawardena (Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) are again deciding to ignore calls to start building a better future.” The activist is actually a Uni of Sussex grad, having finished their BA in International Development with a first in 2020. Before this, they actually *founded* the Sussex branch of Extinction Rebellion, volunteered for Greenpeace, and worked in Outreach for The Humane League. https://thetab.com/uk/2022/10/17/animal-rebellion-milk-pour-protest-277660
  14. Hmm, seems somewhat inevitable with socialized medicine. Some Canadian Health Care Patients Say They're Being Encouraged To Just Die Already Unfortunately, the philosophical argument for the right to die can also end up colliding with troubling decisions in a country where the government funds and controls access to healthcare. That is reportedly happening in Canada, where some citizens say health officials are actively encouraging people with disabilities and other chronic medical issues to consider suicide. According to the Associated Press, hospitals are raising the possibility of assisted suicide with patients who hadn't asked about it. These conversations are not motivated by quality of life but health care costs. The A.P. notes that Belgium and the Australian state of Victoria, which allow physician-assisted suicide, tell medical professionals not to bring up euthanasia so that it's not seen as medical advice. In other words, make sure it's the patient's idea. This is not the case in Canada, where health care workers are trained to inform patients that they can choose euthanasia if they have a qualifying condition. This has led to some patients, particularly those with disabilities but not necessarily fatal illnesses, having some unpleasant conversations. One provided a recording to the Associated Press: https://reason.com/2022/09/07/some-canadian-health-care-patients-say-theyre-being-encouraged-to-just-die-already/
  15. TikTok, is a terrible system not to mention the potential of giving personal information to the CCP. China Starting To Worry TikTok Has Made Americans Even Dumber Than They Intended BEIJING — Sources at the CIA have determined it is in the best interest of the United States that they publicize intercepted recordings of a high-profile meeting among China's top government officers, proving that China is worried TikTok has made Americans even dumber than they intended. The editorial team at The Babylon Bee has decided to publish a portion of the meeting below. Reader be warned: the scope of TikTok's stupidifying of the American people may be too disturbing to read. https://babylonbee.com/news/china-starting-to-worry-tiktok-has-made-americans-even-dumber-than-they-intended
  16. Scammers are getting more creative. Be careful. 2 Michigan women tricked by convincing, sophisticated Amazon scam: What to know The calls appear to have three steps: The initial caller claims to be from Amazon and tells you there has been a fraudulent purchase on an Amazon account. Then, the conversation quickly turns to reveal that you have bank accounts with four or five well-known names — Wells Fargo, PNC Bank, Bank of America, Chase and others. Maybe that's where you really bank, maybe you don't and will let it slip where you do have accounts. Last, you're told that someone has used your identity to open up a string of bank accounts. A call that began from Amazon somehow ends up with a federal agent on the line to convince you that you'll be arrested soon because you're now suspected of money laundering. The caller might imply that hundreds of thousands of dollars were transferred into questionable accounts opened with your ID information. https://www.freep.com/story/money/personal-finance/susan-tompor/2022/05/19/amazon-scam-money-laundering/9794344002/
  17. Kinds of flying under the radar with all the recent deflections. The baby formula supply problem is getting worse New YorkCNNBusiness — For months stores nationwide have been struggling to stock enough baby formula. Manufacturers say they’re producing at full capacity and making as much formula as they can, but it’s still not enough to meet current demand. The out-of-stock rate for baby formula hovered between 2% and 8% in the first half of 2021, but began rising sharply last July. Between November 2021 and early April 2022, the out-of-stock rate jumped to 31%, data from Datasembly showed. That rate increased another 9 percentage points in just three weeks in April, and now stands at 40%, the statistics show. In six states — Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota, Missouri, Texas and Tennessee — more than half of baby formula was completely sold out during the week starting April 24, Datasembly said. https://www.cnn.com/2022/05/08/business/baby-formula-shortage/index.html
  18. I think the new Ministry of Truth (a.k.a. The Disinformation Governance Board) needs it's own thread. Not really sure why the Biden Administration is doubling down on this, but hey, Obama told us to not underestimate the ability of Joe to mess things up. DHS Secretary Dismisses Concerns About Disinformation Board and Its 'Eminently Qualified' Leader The Biden administration’s creation of its new Disinformation Governance Board has been equated to the “Ministry of Truth” in George Orwell’s novel 1984. But during an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday, Mayorkas sought to reassure Americans about the board’s mission. Host Dana Bash asked, “Can you clarify what exactly is this? What exactly will this Disinformation Governance Board do? Will it monitor American citizens?” https://ijr.com/dhs-dismisses-concerns-disinformation-board-leader/
  19. In the theme of our current vacation to the Arches/Canyonlands area in Utah, just wondering what everyone’s favorite National park/monuments/seashores are? I still love Death Valley, but the others we have visited, Yellowstone, Badlands, Arches, Grand Canyon, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, Mt. Rushmore, Cuyahoga Valley, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Indiana Dunes, Cumberland Gap are all great in their own way.
