  1. I am on my phone, apologies. Interview in August, visa sometime after that, I assume medical exam will be close to the interview. You will be best to enter the US after 2/1/2024. Use the six months the visa is valid for to tie up loose ends, and avoid the ROC process. Good Luck!
  2. If your timeline is accurate, February 1, 2022 was the date of the marriage, so avoiding ROC seems moot.
  3. Op, just curious, how close are you to your 2nd wedding anniversary?
  4. The English seem to get it, not sure why the Democrats here in the US do not.
  5. Well, Mayor Pete is not a very good transportation Secretary, so I guess he needs some deflection. Receipts please. Pete Buttigieg claims Colorado graphic designer Lorie Smith deliberately 'provoked' Supreme Court gay wedding website case for the 'clear purpose of chipping away' at LGBTQ rights https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12259019/Pete-Buttigieg-claims-Colorado-graphic-designer-provoked-Supreme-Court-case.html
  6. Hmm, maybe the Amish know what to do. Unvaxxed Amish COVID death rates 90 times lower than the rest of the country https://slaynews.com/news/unvaxxed-amish-death-rates-90-times-lower-rest-america/
  7. So the totalitarian Zelensky is commenting on July 4th. Is this a signal he is coming for more money, or is he going to ask for manpower soon? https://thehill.com/homenews/4079131-zelensky-to-us-on-independence-day-ukraine-grateful-for-support/
  8. Ahh, Asians are now white supremacists now. Sometimes the Leftist rhetoric is oh so empty.
  9. Well I see a couple of things going on. You can have a parent that is sort of like a pageant parent looking for their own attention by promoting the fact they have a trans child. You can have parents that are given a Sophie’s Choice by a medical professional with the choice of either doing this, or seeing their child commit suicide. And of course there are the groomers out there and some states making laws (guess which ones) which allow the children to make the decision without the parents input. I am sure there are other avenues, but it is amazing this country, at least those in the tolerant Left, is allowing this to be done on children. SMH. My thought is if a child can make this life altering decision, why is owning a firearm, or buying alcohol still restricted. This is so well said. What it demonstrates to me, since almost all of this push in the US is coming from one political ideology, is that those on the Left in the US do not care about children. The interesting thing is often the Left in the US seems to follow the progressives from Europe, but in this case European actions are being ignored by the Left groomers and activists.
  10. Always knew Jen P. was tone deaf, I guess I did not realize how bad. Psaki attempts to scare Muslim parents from opposing transgender ideology in schools: GOP 'trying to recruit' The former White House press secretary claimed on her Sunday show, "Inside with Jen Psaki," that the Republican Party was dividing Muslims from transgender people, and listed why she believed the GOP was a danger to the Muslim community. The comments were first noted by Kevin Tober at Media Research Center. "The GOP successfully managed to split off Southern Whites from the Democratic Party. Now, decades later, the right wing is reviving that same playbook, this time with Muslim-Americans and trans people," said Psaki. "The GOP is trying to recruit Muslim-Americans… against another tiny marginalized group of Americans, transgender people." The Director of the Islam and Religious Freedom Action Team for the Religious Freedom Institute, Ismail Royer, told Fox News Digital that Psaki's remarks were insulting to Muslims. https://www.foxnews.com/media/psaki-attempts-scare-muslim-parents-opposing-transgender-ideology-schools-gop-trying-recruit
  11. No copies of the passport bio pages and marriage certificate should be fine. Tax transcript printouts should be fine. you will be fine. For some reason the DOS only shows wait times for non-immigrant visas. Good Luck!
  12. I wonder what releases the Drs. performing these irreversible procedures are having the kid and their family sign to try and avoid lawsuits if she decides in a few years they made a mistake?
  13. Sorry for your experience. This is the reason many recommend scrapping a K1 for a spousal visa especially when participating in a cultural ceremony that may or may not look like a wedding. The key is a K1 denial cannot be appealed if like you, you get to the interview and the CO decides you are too married for a K1. Thanks for sharing your experience.
  14. If the system was efficient, filing an I130 would automatically cancel a previous I129F filing, it there are stories where that did not happen and the I129F proceeded causing headaches in the future. There is no requirement to send a letter requesting a cancellation of the I129F when switching to a spousal visa, but many folks do it, and many here like myself will recommend it. Good Luck!
  15. What I do not understand is the three Leftist justices voted in favor of religious rights on the postal worker case released yesterday, but voted against this one released today. Supreme Court rules in favor of Colorado graphic designer who refused to create same-sex wedding websites The U.S. Supreme Court held that a Colorado graphic designer who wants to make wedding websites does not have to create them for same-sex marriages, in a landmark decision that pit the interests of LGBTQ non-discrimination against First Amendment freedom. In a 6-3 decision issued Friday, the high court ruled in favor of artist Lorie Smith, who sued the state over its anti-discrimination law that prohibited businesses providing sales or other accommodations to the public from denying service based on a customer's sexual orientation. Justice Neil Gorsuch authored the majority opinion, which said that, "In this case, Colorado seeks to force an individual to speak in ways that align with its views but defy her conscience about a matter of major significance." https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/supreme-court-rules-in-favor-of-colorado-graphic-designer-who-refused-to-create-same-sex-wedding-websites/ar-AA1dg4M7
  16. Interesting study. I wonder why. Risk of Problem Drinking Rises Among Thirty-Something Women This growing trend in women who are delaying or foregoing parenting is contributing to an increase in women at highest risk for excessive alcohol use, according to a new study led by Boston University School of Public Health (BUSPH) and Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Katherine Keyes, professor of Epidemiology at Columbia Public Health, is senior author of the study. Published in the journal Addiction(link is external and opens in a new window), the study found that women in their mid-30s, as well as women who have not had children by age 35, are the subgroups of women at highest risk of binge drinking and having alcohol use disorder (AUD) symptoms. The study is the first to consider the impact of delayed parenting on excessive alcohol use among newer generations of middle-aged women. The findings underscore the need to address excessive drinking among all women, but particularly among this expanding group of women without children. “Because more women are delaying having children in the U.S., a growing proportion of women fall into the highest risk group,” says study lead author Rachel Sayko Adams, research associate professor of health law, policy & management at BUSPH. “This growing prevalence of heavy drinking is exacerbated given that excessive alcohol use is increasing overall for middle-aged women in more recent cohorts. Therefore, at-risk alcohol use and consequences are expected to continue increasing in future years, if not addressed.” https://www.publichealth.columbia.edu/news/risk-problem-drinking-rises-among-thirty-something-women
  17. Finally some common sense. What is even more interesting is the minority affirms their racist ideals. Supreme Court rejects affirmative action in ruling on universities using race in admissions decisions The U.S. Supreme Court handed down a major ruling on affirmative action Tuesday, rejecting the use of race as a factor in college admissions as a violation of the 14th Amendment's Equal Protection Clause. Many universities have argued that race-based admissions ensures that student bodies remain diverse, while critics such as the plaintiffs in the cases argue the policy discriminates against many qualified students based on race. Students for Fair Admissions, a student activist group, brought cases against both Harvard and University of North Carolina. The group initially sued Harvard College in 2014 for violating Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, which "prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin in any program or activity that receives Federal funds or other Federal financial assistance." https://www.foxnews.com/politics/supreme-court-rejects-affirmative-action-ruling-universities-using-race-admissions-decisions
  18. Just wondering if anyone has any recent experience traveling to Russia via Helsinki to St. Petersburg? Working on planning the wife's trip coming up and are leaning toward Dubai to Novosibirsk, but she talked to someone that said Helsinki to St. Petersburg is an option by train or bus. Thanks.
  19. This AI will most likely be used for the next election. It will get interesting. AI clones teen girl’s voice in $1M kidnapping scam: ‘I’ve got your daughter’ It was a dead “ringer” for her daughter. Artificial intelligence has taken phone scams to a frightening new level. An Arizona mom claims that scammers used AI to clone her daughter’s voice so they could demand a 1$ million dollar ransom from her as part of a terrifying new voice scheme. “I never doubted for one second it was her,” distraught mother Jennifer DeStefano told WKYT while recalling the bone-chilling incident. “That’s the freaky part that really got me to my core.” This bombshell comes amid a rise in “caller ID spoofing” schemes, in which scammers claim they’ve taken the recipient’s relative hostage and will harm them if they aren’t paid a specified amount of money. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/ai-clones-teen-girl-s-voice-in-1m-kidnapping-scam-i-ve-got-your-daughter/ar-AA19LWPF
  20. If the shoe fits. Twitter criticized after labeling NPR as ‘state-affiliated media’ (NewsNation) — NPR president and CEO John Lansing fired back at Twitter on Wednesday morning after the social media platform put a label on the news organization’s profile calling it “state-affiliated media.” NewsNation partner The Hill reports this designation is one Twitter uses for state news agencies such as Russia’s TASS and China’s Xinhua. “NPR and our Member stations are supported by millions of listeners who depend on us for the independent, fact-based journalism we provide,” Lansing wrote in a statement. “NPR stands for freedom of speech and holding the powerful accountable. It is unacceptable for Twitter to label us this way. A vigorous, vibrant free press is essential to the health of our democracy.” https://www.newsnationnow.com/entertainment-news/media/twitter-npr-state-affiliated-media-ceo-responds/
  21. More from the war on CH4. And yes, this agency is headed by the son of the former top manager of the AFL-CFO. U.S. safety agency to consider ban on gas stoves amid health fears A federal agency says a ban on gas stoves is on the table amid rising concern about harmful indoor air pollutants emitted by the appliances. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission plans to take action to address the pollution, which can cause health and respiratory problems. “This is a hidden hazard,” Richard Trumka Jr., an agency commissioner, said in an interview. “Any option is on the table. Products that can’t be made safe can be banned.” https://www.latimes.com/business/story/2023-01-09/us-safety-agency-considers-gas-stove-ban?expandComments=true
  22. Does CA have the money for this? I also wonder how this will be proven as couldn’t a recent immigrant from Africa show they have distant relatives that were brought to the US a slaves way back in time. California Reparations Could See Newsom Give Black Americans $223k Each The Times reported that, just based on housing discrimination between 1933 and 1977, $569 billion in reparations would need to be paid to African Americans in California–amounting to $223,000 per person. The total amount of reparations suggested, the largest in history, will likely be much higher than that. https://www.newsweek.com/california-reparations-could-see-newsom-give-black-americans-223k-1764114
  23. Hmm, seems somewhat inevitable with socialized medicine. Some Canadian Health Care Patients Say They're Being Encouraged To Just Die Already Unfortunately, the philosophical argument for the right to die can also end up colliding with troubling decisions in a country where the government funds and controls access to healthcare. That is reportedly happening in Canada, where some citizens say health officials are actively encouraging people with disabilities and other chronic medical issues to consider suicide. According to the Associated Press, hospitals are raising the possibility of assisted suicide with patients who hadn't asked about it. These conversations are not motivated by quality of life but health care costs. The A.P. notes that Belgium and the Australian state of Victoria, which allow physician-assisted suicide, tell medical professionals not to bring up euthanasia so that it's not seen as medical advice. In other words, make sure it's the patient's idea. This is not the case in Canada, where health care workers are trained to inform patients that they can choose euthanasia if they have a qualifying condition. This has led to some patients, particularly those with disabilities but not necessarily fatal illnesses, having some unpleasant conversations. One provided a recording to the Associated Press: https://reason.com/2022/09/07/some-canadian-health-care-patients-say-theyre-being-encouraged-to-just-die-already/
  24. Scammers are getting more creative. Be careful. 2 Michigan women tricked by convincing, sophisticated Amazon scam: What to know The calls appear to have three steps: The initial caller claims to be from Amazon and tells you there has been a fraudulent purchase on an Amazon account. Then, the conversation quickly turns to reveal that you have bank accounts with four or five well-known names — Wells Fargo, PNC Bank, Bank of America, Chase and others. Maybe that's where you really bank, maybe you don't and will let it slip where you do have accounts. Last, you're told that someone has used your identity to open up a string of bank accounts. A call that began from Amazon somehow ends up with a federal agent on the line to convince you that you'll be arrested soon because you're now suspected of money laundering. The caller might imply that hundreds of thousands of dollars were transferred into questionable accounts opened with your ID information. https://www.freep.com/story/money/personal-finance/susan-tompor/2022/05/19/amazon-scam-money-laundering/9794344002/
