Not a lot of MSM coverage of this. Wonder why… Hundreds of US synagogues receive bomb threats as spree continues despite arrests Hundreds of synagogues and Jewish institutions across the United States received bomb threats by email this weekend, in a substantial acceleration of a months-long spree of hoax threats. The Secure Community Network, which coordinates security for Jewish institutions nationwide, said early Sunday that it had tracked 199 threats over the past 24 hours, with nearly 100 in California and 62 in Arizona. Synagogues in at least 17 states plus Washington, D.C., were affected, according to local media reports. None of the threats were deemed credible after local investigations. But some of them caused significant disruption: A Boulder, Colorado, synagogue evacuated its Shabbat morning services on Saturday, for example, while a congregation in western Massachusetts canceled its Sunday religious school. https://www.jta.org/2023/12/17/united-states/hundreds-of-us-synagogues-receive-bomb-threats-as-spree-continues-despite-arrests

Here is what I would do. File the I751 as soon as the window opens, then 2-3 weeks later file the I131 (either DHL to the appropriate lockbox, or through your relatives). Once the first biometrics appointment letter arrives (I assume someone is getting your/her mail daily and can let you know), travel to the US. Hopefully, the 2nd biometrics letter will arrive shortly after, and she can take both to the appointment and complete both. The extension letter for the I751 should have arrived by then. Of course this is all hypothetical from a timing perspective, but it could work. Good Luck!

I am not quite sure how best to time everything. Technically the I131 has to be filed from within the U.S., but there is a FedEx/DHL option. Others can chime in, but I suppose you could send both the I751 and I131 to their respective lockboxes and wait for the first I797 NOA requesting biometrics, and then get her to the U.S. If you have relatives or contacts in the U.S., you might be able to send it to them, and let them mail both from within the U.S. You also need to make sure the notices will get to someone that can notify you of their receipt. If you do it that way, (if possible, others can comment), you might be able to keep the visit relatively short. Good Luck!

She can do that next time she is in the U.S. regardless of the I751 status. Probably best to have it ready to go when she comes back for the I751 biometrics, and submit it immediately upon her return. Hopefully the biometrics are at the same time, and then she can leave when the extension letter arrives assuming she has fulfilled the biometrics for the re-entry permit. She can have the re-entry permit card sent to the consulate in India after that.

Suicides scheduled? Prince Andrew sex accuser Virginia Giuffre taunts 'there's going to be a lot of nervous people...who's on the naughty list?' after judge rules 170 people linked to Jeffrey Epstein can be named in court Prince Andrew's accuser Virginia Giuffre has welcomed a judge's ruling that 170 people linked to Jeffrey Epstein are set to be unmasked, as she taunted his associates by asking 'who's on the naughty list?' It comes after DailyMail.com revealed that dozens of Epstein's high profile associates can be named in court documents set to be released in the first days of 2024. Giuffre, nee Roberts, who claims she was trafficked by Epstein and had sex with Prince Andrew aged 17, was triumphant in her bid to get a dossier containing the names of the disgraced financier's associates and victims unsealed. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12886017/Prince-Andrew-sex-accuser-Virginia-Giuffre-nervous-people-naughty-list-judge-rules-170-people-linked-Jeffrey-Epstein-named.html

Need advice regarding issues with N400 & long delay
Dashinka replied to aaa1's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
I agree, the IO will review the N400 application with you and allow for corrections. Good Luck! -
Quite a few moving parts to this. Do you and your wife plan to stay in India for 2-3 years? This plan will work for the two of you, but your step-daughter will have a much more difficult time. Normally, I would agree that doing the I407 is the best route for couples planning to reside outside the U.S. for an extended period of time, and then if and when a decision is made to repatriate, a new I130 can be submitted, and the foreign spouse can go through a new visa process instead of trying to maintain their LPR status through re-entry permits or the SB1. However, with your step-daughter it is another story. She already has her LPR status, and with her plans to come to the U.S. for school in 2-3 years it is probably better for her to try and maintain her LPR status through re-entry permits to avoid the pitfalls of trying to get a non-immigrant student visa, or the fairly long time period it would take for her to get a new F1 or F3 family based visa if she wants to repatriate to the U.S. permanently (8-10 years for F1, 14-16 years for an F3). No one can predict what a CO will do with a student visa application in 2-3 years, but convincing the CO that there is no immigration intent is a high bar. In the end, it is up to you as a family to decide. Good Luck!

So to me this is much more general than just the Hamas terror attacks into Israel (if mods feel otherwise, feel free to put this in the Israel thread). It is certainly true, people usually show their true colors. A great example is the racist attitudes of Old Corrupt Joe which shine through all the time. When People Tell You Who They Are, Believe Them On the one hand I think: surely this will be sufficient. Surely this amount of blood will be enough to shake the world awake. Surely no one can equivocate or justify this. As my friend Sarah Haider wrote, “How easy is it to simply condemn targeted violence against civilians? Can there be a lower bar?” And yet, across the world, people have sunk below it. Here you can watch people gathered at the Sydney Opera House cheering “gas the Jews” and “death to the Jews.” People are rejoicing in the slaughter on the streets of Berlin and London and Toronto and New York. What I do not understand is the three Leftist justices voted in favor of religious rights on the postal worker case released yesterday, but voted against this one released today. Supreme Court rules in favor of Colorado graphic designer who refused to create same-sex wedding websites The U.S. Supreme Court held that a Colorado graphic designer who wants to make wedding websites does not have to create them for same-sex marriages, in a landmark decision that pit the interests of LGBTQ non-discrimination against First Amendment freedom. In a 6-3 decision issued Friday, the high court ruled in favor of artist Lorie Smith, who sued the state over its anti-discrimination law that prohibited businesses providing sales or other accommodations to the public from denying service based on a customer's sexual orientation. Justice Neil Gorsuch authored the majority opinion, which said that, "In this case, Colorado seeks to force an individual to speak in ways that align with its views but defy her conscience about a matter of major significance." https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/supreme-court-rules-in-favor-of-colorado-graphic-designer-who-refused-to-create-same-sex-wedding-websites/ar-AA1dg4M7

This AI will most likely be used for the next election. It will get interesting. AI clones teen girl’s voice in $1M kidnapping scam: ‘I’ve got your daughter’ It was a dead “ringer” for her daughter. Artificial intelligence has taken phone scams to a frightening new level. An Arizona mom claims that scammers used AI to clone her daughter’s voice so they could demand a 1$ million dollar ransom from her as part of a terrifying new voice scheme. “I never doubted for one second it was her,” distraught mother Jennifer DeStefano told WKYT while recalling the bone-chilling incident. “That’s the freaky part that really got me to my core.” This bombshell comes amid a rise in “caller ID spoofing” schemes, in which scammers claim they’ve taken the recipient’s relative hostage and will harm them if they aren’t paid a specified amount of money. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/ai-clones-teen-girl-s-voice-in-1m-kidnapping-scam-i-ve-got-your-daughter/ar-AA19LWPF

If the shoe fits. Twitter criticized after labeling NPR as ‘state-affiliated media’ (NewsNation) — NPR president and CEO John Lansing fired back at Twitter on Wednesday morning after the social media platform put a label on the news organization’s profile calling it “state-affiliated media.” NewsNation partner The Hill reports this designation is one Twitter uses for state news agencies such as Russia’s TASS and China’s Xinhua. “NPR and our Member stations are supported by millions of listeners who depend on us for the independent, fact-based journalism we provide,” Lansing wrote in a statement. “NPR stands for freedom of speech and holding the powerful accountable. It is unacceptable for Twitter to label us this way. A vigorous, vibrant free press is essential to the health of our democracy.” https://www.newsnationnow.com/entertainment-news/media/twitter-npr-state-affiliated-media-ceo-responds/

More from the war on CH4. And yes, this agency is headed by the son of the former top manager of the AFL-CFO. U.S. safety agency to consider ban on gas stoves amid health fears A federal agency says a ban on gas stoves is on the table amid rising concern about harmful indoor air pollutants emitted by the appliances. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission plans to take action to address the pollution, which can cause health and respiratory problems. “This is a hidden hazard,” Richard Trumka Jr., an agency commissioner, said in an interview. “Any option is on the table. Products that can’t be made safe can be banned.” https://www.latimes.com/business/story/2023-01-09/us-safety-agency-considers-gas-stove-ban?expandComments=true

Scammers are getting more creative. Be careful. 2 Michigan women tricked by convincing, sophisticated Amazon scam: What to know The calls appear to have three steps: The initial caller claims to be from Amazon and tells you there has been a fraudulent purchase on an Amazon account. Then, the conversation quickly turns to reveal that you have bank accounts with four or five well-known names — Wells Fargo, PNC Bank, Bank of America, Chase and others. Maybe that's where you really bank, maybe you don't and will let it slip where you do have accounts. Last, you're told that someone has used your identity to open up a string of bank accounts. A call that began from Amazon somehow ends up with a federal agent on the line to convince you that you'll be arrested soon because you're now suspected of money laundering. The caller might imply that hundreds of thousands of dollars were transferred into questionable accounts opened with your ID information. https://www.freep.com/story/money/personal-finance/susan-tompor/2022/05/19/amazon-scam-money-laundering/9794344002/

Kinds of flying under the radar with all the recent deflections. The baby formula supply problem is getting worse New YorkCNNBusiness — For months stores nationwide have been struggling to stock enough baby formula. Manufacturers say they’re producing at full capacity and making as much formula as they can, but it’s still not enough to meet current demand. The out-of-stock rate for baby formula hovered between 2% and 8% in the first half of 2021, but began rising sharply last July. Between November 2021 and early April 2022, the out-of-stock rate jumped to 31%, data from Datasembly showed. That rate increased another 9 percentage points in just three weeks in April, and now stands at 40%, the statistics show. In six states — Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota, Missouri, Texas and Tennessee — more than half of baby formula was completely sold out during the week starting April 24, Datasembly said. https://www.cnn.com/2022/05/08/business/baby-formula-shortage/index.html
