  1. More face time together is always a positive when going for a fiancé or spousal visa.
  2. Hitting the wine industry as well. 4. Not to worry, the heads of the bank got theirs. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11846085/CEO-Silicon-Valley-Bank-sold-3-57-million-stock-dramatic-collapse.html CEO of Silicon Valley Bank sold $3.57 million of stock in the troubled bank just TWO WEEKS before its dramatic collapse in automated trade planned on January 26 - and CFO ditched $575,000 the same day

  6. Something for all those new IRS agents to do I guess. IRS audit finds 42,000 feds cheating on taxes More than 42,000 federal employees repeatedly failed to file their taxes with the IRS, according to a new audit that said the government is limited in its ability to punish the cheats. Known as “federal employee nonfilers,” the cases are considered particularly egregious since they involve those paid by taxpayer money but shirking taxpayer obligations. But the IRS devotes little effort to targeting federal nonfilers, according to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration. And the law restricts how much information the IRS can share with other federal agencies, so they’re limited in their ability to prod or punish the employees, the audit found. https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2023/mar/10/irs-audit-finds-42000-feds-cheating-on-taxes/
  7. I have never understood why folks seated do not wear their seatbelts. Do they not understand they are in a moving vehicle?
  8. DV only requires a high school diploma. Hard to get though, but still an option.
  9. I hope no one here was impacted. Silicon Valley Bank shut down by regulators https://www.foxbusiness.com/markets/silicon-valley-bank-shut-down-regulators-fdic
  10. Wow, a study was needed to tell us sedentary folks are subject to more pollution? There is a reason I get up and leave the room when the dog emits her pollution.
  11. I thought the State Department warned people about going to Mexico? Maybe Newsom just wanted to go to a donkey show.
  12. Heck, Mary and the CFO just this past January said there would be no layoffs. Another lie I guess. The entire switch to EVs is really a joke especially considering how it is now coming out how environmentally unfriendly EVs are. Germany just nixed the EUs plan to ban ICE vehicles. https://www.msn.com/en-xl/news/other/germany-and-italy-object-to-proposed-eu-ice-ban-over-e-fuels/ar-AA18hluT
  13. Definitely nothing is going to be fast. You could look into the Diversity Visa program when your high school education is finished. I believe Portuguese are eligible to apply.
  14. Tell the tax preparer they need to do a paper filing as married filing separately. If they push back, like @Mike E, suggested, tell the preparer you will report them to the IRS. If your taxes have already been filed like the OP, you will also have to file an amended return. Good Luck!
  15. I tend to agree. One wonders, this being a private flight, if this woman felt she did not have to adhere to safety rules.
  16. So like the remaking of Joe Biden from a lying plagiarizing career politician to Lunch Pail Joe, Fetterman was crafted as some sort of ideal Everyman candidate. Just one interview with him and his wife should have dispelled that. It was also interesting how his racist act of chasing an unarmed black man was all but ignored by the Democrats, Left and MSM. I will not defend Oz as a stellar candidate, but I will take a self made immigrant any day over a man that had a stroke and needed time to recover instead of permanently harming himself.
  17. So the Biden Administration is also planning on weaponizing the FTC. Gotta love Democrats and their lust for power. FTC Seeks Names of All Journalists With Whom Musk Shared Twitter Documents "Protecting consumers' privacy is exactly what the FTC is supposed to do," FTC spokesman Douglas Farrar said in a statement. "It should come as no surprise that career staff at the commission are conducting a rigorous investigation into Twitter's compliance with a consent order that came into effect long before Mr. Musk purchased the company." Farrar also said the kind of information it is seeking from Twitter is routine for companies under consent decrees. House Republicans on the Judiciary Committee don't see it that way. On Tuesday, the Judiciary Committee's Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government published excerpts from the FTC's letters to Twitter, as part of a larger report. "The Committee does not dispute that protecting user privacy and mitigating information security risks are important duties," the report says. "Because of its consent decree with Twitter, the FTC has the authority to monitor how Twitter is protecting users' private information, such as their phone numbers and email addresses." https://reason.com/2023/03/08/ftc-seeks-names-of-all-journalists-with-whom-musk-shared-twitter-documents/
  18. Can anyone really say Fetterman was a better candidate than Oz? Same can be said of Walker and Warnock (why was his baggage ignored). For some reason the Democrats have gaslighted their voters to show up even if they have a horrible candidate, and GOP voters stay home. Which ones have more open minds?
  19. Affidavits are a complete last resort. With the information you mentioned, I would not bother. I also would not worry about texts or chats since you are currently living together. If both requests are part of the same RFE, I would submit everything together. Good Luck!
  20. Would Hacking go with the OP to the N400 interview, or would he send an assistant? Seems like the OP has had a bad experience with a supposedly well reviewed lawyer, so not really sure Hacking or one of his assistants will quell that.
  21. How do you know this is not just part of USCIS's strategy to deprioritize the I751? I tend to agree that 14 months with no decision after an interview is not exactly typical, but who knows with USCIS when it seems clear they don't really care about the I751.
  22. Carlson seems to be getting close to something the narrative creators do not want to come out.
