Why public schools never have enough money
Dashinka replied to TBoneTX's topic in Current Events and Hot Social Topics
I know the current Democrat Governor of AZ is trying to undo this law, but more states need to follow AZ’s lead. Arizona’s new ESA school choice law is a win for everyone https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/arizona-s-new-esa-school-choice-law-is-a-win-for-everyone/ar-AA11EsMZ -
Gotta love a country that punishes citizens for reactionary (anti-fascist) thought. From easing and talking to friends in the Great White North, Canada is quickly heading in the same direction. N. Korea hands down severe punishments for watching S. Korean dramas, movies North Korea has recently been increasing the severity of punishments for watching “impure videos” such as South Korean dramas and movies, Daily NK has learned. Speaking on condition of anonymity for security reasons, a source in North Pyongan Province told Daily NK on Aug. 14 that a man in his twenties living in Cholsan County was sent to a political prison camp in July after being accused of watching South Korean videos. As it is almost impossible to survive in political prison camps, North Koreans regard being sent to such camps as a death sentence. https://www.dailynk.com/english/north-korea-hands-down-severe-punishments-watching-south-korean-dramas-movies/

The church of climatology, and John Kerry is one of the high priests. As usual with Democrats, when they accuse the other side of being something, in this case “cult like”, it is to hide the face that this is just what they are. ‘Tyrant’ John Kerry slammed for scolding climate change deniers: They’ve ‘threatened’ ‘humanity’ The Biden administration’s climate czar John Kerry sparked social media outrage this weekend with a video of him scolding humanity for threatening itself by not curbing its effect on the climate. The clip, which featured Kerry’s speech at an event in Scotland, was viewed over one million times since being posted Friday. X (formerly Twitter) users ripped into it, calling Kerry a "con-artist" and a "tyrant" for his strong rebuke of those not on board with the climate agenda. During the address, Kerry likened climate-change deniers to "cult" members, who "lash out at the truth tellers" and refuse to accept "indisputable evidence" of manmade climate change. https://www.foxnews.com/media/tyrant-john-kerry-slammed-scolding-climate-change-deniers-theyve-threatened-humanity

Living in Japan with GC for 2.5 years

Have you discussed this with your company? Most companies that send employees on international assignments have a fairly competent legal staff that handles immigration services. As @Lil bear mentioned, she can do the re-entry permit that will maintain her GC for 2 years, then either apply again, or come back to the US six months ahead of you. As both @Lil bear and @Mike E mentioned naturalization would make things even easier for her, and there is the potential she can naturalize from overseas, or start the process now, and if you have a fairly quick field office, she could be done in 6-8 months. Good Luck! -

Daily update on Biden tanking america
Dashinka replied to Nature Boy 2.0's topic in Current Events and Hot Social Topics
I suspect this will be followed as much as people follow any other guidelines deemed "progressive". However, Old Corrupt Joe put this idiot in place. Biden’s alcohol czar warns new guidance could be only 2 beers a week What the ale? Americans could soon be advised to limit themselves to just two drinks a week, a top health official warned Thursday. President Biden’s alcohol czar, Dr. George Koob, told the Daily Mail that the USDA could revise its alcohol recommendations to match Canada’s guidelines. In January, the Great White North began urging residents to limit their alcohol consumption to two drinks per week. Since the 1990s, the US has recommended women limit themselves to one drink per day and men to two drinks per day. https://nypost.com/2023/08/24/bidens-alcohol-czar-warns-new-guidance-could-be-2-beers-a-week/ -
It would seem to me that if a carbon credit certifying company, even the world's leading certifier, certifies a bunch of worthless carbon credits, they really don't have any idea what they are doing. A new study in the journal Science has found that millions of forest carbon credits approved by Verra, the world’s leading certifier, are largely worthless and could make global heating worse if used for offsetting.

VDH has good stuff. Slow, steady and corrupt! The Biden Clan’s Con Is Coming to an End Despite years of Biden family and media disinformation, we are finally learning that President Joe Biden really did fire Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin for looking into state corruption involving the oil company Burisma and Hunter Biden -- and ultimately Joe Biden himself. As vice president, Biden, in his own words, bragged that he had threatened to cancel the deliverance of American foreign aid to Ukraine unless Shokin was dismissed. So what is Congress to do now -- un-impeach and exonerate an innocent impeached Donald Trump, and instead impeach a guilty Biden for essentially the same allegations? https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2023/08/25/the_biden_clans_con_is_coming_to_an_end_149674.html?callback=in&code=MMUZNZBLMZYTMZCYOC0ZODNILWE2ZTGTYWRLYWE2YMQWNZU0&state=5624a364f2d24e8a8a69cfa807cc63fb

I guess parents in Maryland must accept what the government says or else. ‘Not Indoctrination’: Judge Rejects Maryland Parents’ Plea to Restore Opt-Out for LGBTQ Books Atheist, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, and other parents demanded the right to opt out of an LGBTQ book curriculum for pre-K through fifth grades in Montgomery County Public Schools, a Maryland school district just outside the nation’s capital. Although Maryland law requires schools to allow parents to opt their children out of “all sexuality instruction” and to provide advance notice for such lessons, the new policy, adopted in March, excluded any opt-out right. Boardman, an appointee of President Joe Biden, ruled that Montgomery County Public Schools had not violated parents’ right to free exercise of religion under the First Amendment because, under the policy, “teachers will occasionally read one of the handful of books, lead discussions and ask questions about the characters, and respond to questions and comments in ways that encourage tolerance for different views and lifestyles.” “That is not indoctrination,” the judge wrote. https://www.dailysignal.com/2023/08/24/assault-childrens-rights-court-rejects-maryland-parents-plea-restore-opt-out-lgbtq-books/

Thought this was appropriate here as it has more to do with how the US is propping up Ukraine with US taxpayer money. Nattering Neocons of Negativity In the past few days, pro-war media outlets like National Review and “enlightened experts” have expressed outrage at The Heritage Foundation for taking a commonsense position that’s supported by 55% of Americans. (The Daily Signal is Heritage’s news and commentary outlet.) Heritage’s position is straightforward: Congress shouldn’t attach the aid to domestic disaster relief as Biden proposed. Lawmakers shouldn’t appropriate anything more until Biden offers a robust plan to end the war soon. And the American people deserve transparency for how their money is being spent. Regardless of your views on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine—personally, I’m proud of my Ukrainian heritage and remain hopeful that Ukraine ultimately defeats Russia—these are not radical or controversial requirements to expect from the commander in chief and members of Congress. https://www.dailysignal.com/2023/08/24/biden-sends-700-hawaiians-7000-ukrainians/

Don't Impeach Biden … Not Just Yet
Dashinka replied to TBoneTX's topic in Current Events and Hot Social Topics
He is right, the timing needs to be right, but he does not address the Garland Gambit of appointing the special prosecutor to thwart the GOP in the House in getting information (the entire "ongoing investigation" response). If Comer and the GOP in the House believe they have the goods and the story is near or fully complete, they can move forward. They can give Old Corrupt Joe a chance to defend his corruption and bribery, and let the Senate justify how they are not upholding their oath to defend the Constitution by removing an executive officer that received bribes. There is really no convincing quite a few on the Left as we know they are easily gaslighted, believe anything put out by the activist Left/Democrat MSM, and they always keep a bucket of sand with them when in public. In the end, we do not really want Kackling kamala in the top job, and I am sure the Senate will not remove Biden (heck even Mittens will probably vote to keep Old Corrupt Joe around), but unlike Trump, Biden, as a supposedly elder statesman above reproach, cannot wear the scarlet "I" very well. -

I know Canada has no real right to free speech, and of course they are led by the illegitimate offspring Fidel Castro, but this definitely shows Canada must silence anyone that does not talk in an approved "progressive" manner (notice how they frame their re-education/self-criticism session as "training in professionalism). Remember how Trudeau and the Canadian government treated the truckers? No wonder his wife left him. Christine Van Geyn: Jordan Peterson losing free expression case puts us all at risk A brief recap of this sad legal saga: The College of Psychologists of Ontario ordered Dr. Peterson to take mandatory training in professionalism in public statements. The training is for an indeterminate amount of time and is at Dr. Peterson’s own expense. This order came following controversial public statements Dr. Peterson had made on social media that did not relate to the practice of psychology. The complaints were made by members of the public, not by any individuals who Dr. Peterson had ever treated as a patient and not by people who Dr. Peterson was making comments about. The Divisional Court described this case as a “clash” between a regulated clinical psychologists’ right to speak in a certain manner and the regulator’s power to require the member to moderate that speech in the name of professionalism and preventing “harm to the people they are directed at, and to the impacted and other communities more broadly.” https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/christine-van-geyn-jordan-peterson-losing-free-expression-case-puts-us-all-at-risk/ar-AA1fGNAW
