Hello, I'm new here and happy to have found this forum. I need help, please.
My father is a US citizen who married an Iranian woman in Iran. She was married before. She went for her visa interview yesterday and was told she needed to submit her original divorce decree.
The issue is that she had to surrender her original divorce decree in Iran when she married my father. She only has the certified document from the issuing office. It has been stamped by the justice administration and ministry of foreign affairs registration and personal status department and and translated.
Has anyone been through this? The interviewing office stated that everyone has their original document, so why doesn't she? But it's possible that those with their original decree have not remarried.
Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Hello,
Dad's wife was told she had some missing documents at interview. She was told she can come back any Monday through Thursday between 10:30am and 12noon with the missing documents.
Can someone tell me - when she comes back, do they take everything along with her passport and keep it? Or do they check off all the required items, return them to her and just keep her passport while processing visa?
She is in Ankara, Turkey. Thanks!!
