    Quick update: My sister was able to renew her expired driver license online (State of Pennsylvania) and used the temporary license as proof of domicile. The case was DQ based on that. They are right now awaiting interview scheduling for Helsinki Finland.

    My wife's visa application status changed today from "Refused" to "Administrative Processing". One more step in the right direction. Hoping it follow the trend of approved applications at the Casablanca US Consulate and the visa will be issued Wednesday.

    Male from some African countries and MENA will mostly go through the additional dreaded DS5535 form due to high fraud, especially if any flags are raised in the application. Good luck

    The Consulate services take US and Moroccan holidays as days-off (double dip)

    Today and tomorrow (28 & 29 Sep) are holidays in Morocco. So, no action is anticipated until at least next week. Thank you for the support.

    US Consulate in Morocco is now asking for previous marriage certificates at the interview. I guess they had some complicated cases that they made it a standard for all previous married couples (USC and applicant).

    When the dates get close to July - September, the consulate in Casablanca gives priority to the DV lottery winners. DV visas have to be issued before September 30th. You should expect to be scheduled in three weeks from now, like around the middle of October for a November interview. Good luck

    Medical completed today (21-Sep-2023) and results have already been sent to the Consulate. Case status still shows Refused, with today's date as "Case Last Updated" date. Hopefully visa will be issued within couple of weeks.

    This will make the process simpler. I know of cases where the CO not only asked for divorce certificates, but they also asked for previous marriage certificates, because previous marriage(s) were involved with CR/IR 1 processes.

    I hope all works out at the end. Get electronic copies and send electronically and also get certified copies and send via courier. Were any of the previous marriages involved at all with any USCIS immigration processes?

    It has been painful, and it really tested our patience, but it made us stronger and more determined. can’t wait for the visa to be issued and to be joined for good

    So, After more than 15 months of painful AP, the status of the case changed from "Ready" to "Refused" today, 14-Sep-2023. Shortly after that, the services of the US Consulate in Casablanca called my wife to deliver the long-awaited news: AP is completed and all issues have been resolved. we need an updated medical before the visa can be issued. It has been long, and painful, and long, and painful, but thank God, it is over now.

    we actually just got the long-awaited phone call today: AP is complete and we need to update the medical before visa can be issued. Now the Hussle of getting a medical appointment.

    She did not yet. The plan is to do all that after the visa. any idea of how long does that process take (I mean to get the kids enrolled in school)?

    She moved to Finland seven years ago to live with her husband. She had to turn in her US driver license to get the Finnish driver license. so currently she does not have a valid US ID (besides her passport).

    I actually filled the application for them and I am the joint sponsor. the intent is for them to move here and stay with me in my apartment until they get their own. Her husband is a scientist (Ph.D in telecommunications), and they have two kids (US citizens and Finnish citizens).

    Help needed for US citizen living abroad: my sister filed an I-130 for her husband. The petition was approved and is now processing at NVC. My sister and her husband and kids live in Finland, but are planning to move back to the USA when her husband’s visa is approved. Today she got the following FE message: Proof of Domicile - XXXXXXmight not have a principal residence or be domiciled in the United States. Please submit proof of domicile. For more information on domicile requirements, visit https://nvc.state.gov/fin. What are her options? Thank you all

    Best bet is to stay in a Brooklyn hotel and take the subway in the morning to get to the consulate. They open at 10:00. Watch for the Moroccan holidays.
