  1. you are free to get married. Nothing holding you, just need to find the right partner. Good luck
  2. I hope all works out at the end. Get electronic copies and send electronically and also get certified copies and send via courier. Were any of the previous marriages involved at all with any USCIS immigration processes?
  3. It has been painful, and it really tested our patience, but it made us stronger and more determined. can’t wait for the visa to be issued and to be joined for good
  4. So, After more than 15 months of painful AP, the status of the case changed from "Ready" to "Refused" today, 14-Sep-2023. Shortly after that, the services of the US Consulate in Casablanca called my wife to deliver the long-awaited news: AP is completed and all issues have been resolved. we need an updated medical before the visa can be issued. It has been long, and painful, and long, and painful, but thank God, it is over now.
  5. we actually just got the long-awaited phone call today: AP is complete and we need to update the medical before visa can be issued. Now the Hussle of getting a medical appointment.
  6. Is this the new requirement to check visa status? It seems now that to check, we will have to enter the passport number and first 5 letters of the last name:
  7. She did not yet. The plan is to do all that after the visa. any idea of how long does that process take (I mean to get the kids enrolled in school)?
  8. She moved to Finland seven years ago to live with her husband. She had to turn in her US driver license to get the Finnish driver license. so currently she does not have a valid US ID (besides her passport).
  9. I actually filled the application for them and I am the joint sponsor. the intent is for them to move here and stay with me in my apartment until they get their own. Her husband is a scientist (Ph.D in telecommunications), and they have two kids (US citizens and Finnish citizens).
  10. Help needed for US citizen living abroad: my sister filed an I-130 for her husband. The petition was approved and is now processing at NVC. My sister and her husband and kids live in Finland, but are planning to move back to the USA when her husband’s visa is approved. Today she got the following FE message: Proof of Domicile - XXXXXXmight not have a principal residence or be domiciled in the United States. Please submit proof of domicile. For more information on domicile requirements, visit https://nvc.state.gov/fin. What are her options? Thank you all
  11. Best bet is to stay in a Brooklyn hotel and take the subway in the morning to get to the consulate. They open at 10:00. Watch for the Moroccan holidays.
  12. My wife's immigrant visa (started as CR1, but now is IR1) has been on AP since 17-May-2022 (Day of interview). As of today, we are still under AP after a year and 3 months so far (15 months). How long can AP go for? is 24 months the max? or can AP go longer than that? What are our options right now?
  13. Double check the days: Moroccan holiday November 6
  14. Hello all, My wife had her initial visa interview 17-May-2022 and a subsequent interview 21-Feb-2023 and the visa is still pending AP review in Casablanca consulate (Morocco). I recently changed jobs and relocated to a different state. As the petitioner, do I need to inform the consulate of the new change of address, and will I need to update the Affidavit of Support (I-864) based on the new job? Thank you all for your input.
  15. The process is like a black box: you have no visibility at all until you can see that the money order is cashed and then until you receive the passport back. But, rest assured that it will processed appropriately
  16. One to two weeks mainly it is a “complicated” process for them, just like mokata3a. The money order is giving to a specific person who is in charge of money. They do it in waves, but they will process the passport while waiting. The mail goes to Morocco I guess weekly .
  17. Just my personal opinion: I think it is a good sign. It should change to issued in couple of weeks good luck again, just my prediction
  18. Waste of time you never get to talk to a person stupid answering bot system good for nothing
  19. You are only obligated to attach the most recent tax transcript. The 2nd and 3rd most recent are optional. As long as your Adjusted income in your most recent tax transcript AND the most recent paystubs (3 months) are above the 125% poverty limit by a decent margin, you will be ok
  20. Please keep us posted on how this goes for future reference. Thank you
  21. when they say "Latin", they mean using "Latin" alphabet. English and French use Latin alphabet. For the consulate ID number, leave it blank. They will add it to their database because you are sending them the fee and the application for the Consulate ID card.
  22. For the postage, you can to the post office and ask for an overnight envelope and stamp. It costs around 24 to 30 dollars (flat rate express). It comes with tracking, and is valid until it's used. The six weeks is for processing in Morocco. You want the passport shipped back to you as soon as it is received at the consulate. Express overnight it the only service I would trust with a sensitive document like that.
  23. If he is traveling with the Royal Air Maroc direct from the USA to Casablanca, there will be no issues with an expired Moroccan passport. He will not even need to present his green card during check-in. to be on the safe side, I would recommend to contact the airline e directly and get clarification from them directly. I would not go with what people say. Get your info from the airline directly.
  24. I have been emailing the same email address weekly with no result at all for the last 8 months. i will try the phone numbers next week since they are off Thursday and Friday. thank you for your support ill keep you posted if anything changes
