  1. Keeping the passport doesn’t mean anything at all. Casablanca consulate kept my wife’s passport since May 17 2022, and we are still waiting for an answer
  2. Casablanca does not allow couple interviews: only the applicant will be allowed to enter the consulate for interview. K1 visa process actually includes marriage (if K1 visa is issued) once the applicant enters the US, and then AoS. I believe that OP is worried about the length of CR1 process and did not explain that clearly, so they decided to go the K1 route (presumably faster), and being together with their fiancée (future spouse) while going through AoS
  3. wet signature and scanned back into the system. otherwise, it will be rejected
  4. Nothing yet, and they are not providing any updates at all. They have kept my wife's passport since 17 May 2022 Ceac still shows Ready (hasn't changed since the initial interview). Case last updated on 16-Mar-2023
  5. based on our experience, you should get your interview letter beginning of April for an Interview Mid May But, this is only one data point, things change all the time
  6. you will get the sealed envelope with your passport at Aramex No need to stress out about anything, just keep waiting for the status in ceac to change to Issued
  7. It is normal to return all the original documents and any evidence presented during the interview. They will keep the copies and translations of all needed documents and will put them in the sealed envelop that the applicant will bring with them to the US. The applicant will have to give that envelop to the immigration officer at the Port of Entry in the US.
  8. Congratulations Just make sure you get everything ready for the medical (passport, pictures and all things). It should be good from there Congrats again
  9. I came from a poor background myself, and for important meetings like this, something that will change your life completely, you’ll do what ever it takes to leave a good impression, including borrowing cloths to make sure you did your best
  10. you will need the passport for the medical exam. Make sure you ask for your passport at the end of the interview (hopefully everything will go well during the interview). If the only thing missing is the medical, it should be couple of weeks of processing after they receive the medical report. Good luck
  11. you should send them an inquiry here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/national-visa-center/ask-nvc.html it takes a week to 10 days now to respond to inquiries
  12. your friend needs to create a USCIS account The verification code is sent everytime they try to log-in to the account. It expires after 15 minutes The code is sent to the phone number associated with the account
  13. The second interview went well (according to my wife). The interviewer went through all normal interview questions from scratch: how did you meet? when did you get married? where does your husband work? chat history, wedding pictures, when was the last visit? last visit pictures, hotel confirmations, ... basically all the staff covered by VJ members for the interviews. My wife said that at the end, the interviewer said that they wanted to ensure the marriage was bona fide. He said everything looked good. He returned the chat history pages to my wife, and he said that everything is good and he would give the information to the CO for the final decision. But until they call my wife for an updated medical, I will remain skeptical, because we never know, the CO might have a different opinion. We remain hopeful, this has been a long AP process, 9 months so far

  15. It is painful to wait and not be informed about anything at all. We were kept in the dark about the process and our lives were on hold. Waiting for the interview once it is scheduled is easier than being on AP: AP does not have a timeline and can take a very long time
  16. Thank you @JeanneAdil. for the money receipts, I, the usc, was sending my wife money on a monthly basis. I don’t need money from her, I make a quarter million a year, and my paystubs and tax returns show that (they have all that already).
  17. That makes me feel good, thank you so much it has been a stressful 9 months in AP. I Hope we got to the end of it now thank you so much
  18. For some odd reasons, Casablanca consulate started asking for previous marriage certificates starting last year, even when final divorce decrees were provided. We were not the first couple to be asked to provide the previous marriage certificate. There were no unusual circumstances in the divorce. we provided 401k evidence and insurance evidence showing here as the beneficiary. Medical insurance started after we got married. Wedding pictures and some personal pictures also. And hundreds of pages of chat history and calls in Whatsup. for this week’s interview, we are providing more pictures of the last visit in December, hotel confirmation and money transfer receipts.
  19. Thank you I am leaning towards that also. They want to see more evidence of a bona fide relationship before making a decision. I really hope all goes well. We provided strong evidence (but I guess it was not enough the first time). They asked for my previous marriage certificate at the interview back in May 2022, and went silent until Thursday this week when they asked my wife to come back and bring any pictures we took during my last visit in December. She is taking pictures with the family back in August and pictures of us in December in three different cities we visited in Morocco, and monthly money transfer receipts. I hope all this will be enough to prove bona fide marriage, because it is.
