Hi everyone, My name is Mike and my girlfriend Janice and I are beginning to research the opportunities for her to come and work in the US while we continue dating. We met while I was living in Cebu and have been dating 10 months now Janice is a nursing graduate and would be open to jobs as an Au Pair, caregiver, etc. My first thought was that a J1 visa as an Au Pair might be ideal, however the 5-6 agencies that I contacted said they do not recruit to the US, as many applicants have trouble passing their philippines interview (possibly due to financial limitations? not sure) My second thought was that perhaps we could find someone needing a nanny / caregiver to sponsor her. Reading throught the J1 visa application process, it seems this opportunity might be limited given the applicant must be experienced in international transfers ( 1 year +) Any general advice would be wonderful, as well as any specific advise as to agencies that may recruit to the philippines for such positions. She is also open to other ideas/occupations as well assuming they fit her skill set. I am new to this process, unfamiliar with all the visa types (although i'm learning), the timelines to each process etc...so any advice for a newbie is wanted and appreciated. I am open to also persuing other routes as well, such as a tourist visa if that is a better path for us to take. Thanks everyone! Mike
