Ah ok. For my mom it took 2-3 days. but you can also email and confirm if they got everything. Their acknowledgment and replies to emails are taking longer and longer

I assume it was the DS 5535, in that case it can take 60 days to up to 14+ months. My moms took 12 months to clear without a WOM someone else here, took 14 months but they filed a WOM to get it moving. Without WOM, who knows how long it would’ve taken.

They were told at the interview. It was the worst. My mom has no red flags. She’s retired since 2013 but they issued my dad a visa while my mom was in AP. Weird they won’t give your mom a visa cause your dad is in AP. 14 months. The worst thing ever

The same thing happened with my parents at Montreal embassy October 2021. My dad was approved. Mom didn’t get approved. She got a DS 5535 form and was in AP for 14 months. my dad actually had to immigrate to US without her since his visa has expiry date of march 2021. it was such a hellish process, sorry to hear it’s happening with your parents

Congrats dude! Super happy for you! They asked the exact same things for my moms as well.

I think it’s worth waiting for clarification but if it helps, for my mom it didn’t add any Additional processing time. I had to add and delete trips within 5 years and update that her spouse lived in US. Got her visa within 4 weeks of submitting docs back to them. but I highly suggest you get the RCMP police check again. It’s for sure going to be required and waiting time for that is 2-3 weeks. Get it asap and you’ll save some valuable time

They reopened my moms DS-260 as well. And I just updated whatever needed to be updated. In her case I had to update her trip to US she made in 2022 since that was within 5 years now. I wonder if ds260 is reopened if your case has been pending for a certain period of time. The email I got from embassy pointed out that my moms ds 260 was reopened and I need to submit the confirmation page barcode to them once it’s completed. wonder if their email went to your junk box? but likely scenario is someone forgot to hit send on the email you’re supposed to receive asking for everything but congrats! You’re done with ds5535 and just need to get through this last step! I know it’s hard to be optimistic but I hope you celebrate this victory. Happy for you!

frequent updates are good! my moms case had three unsolicited, it started sept 30 until october 5. we got her passport back and clearance was received sept 30. also apparently now there isnt a packet that you present during your entry into US, its all electronic, you just present your passport with visa. i assume this changed within the last 9 months. wasnt the case when my step dad crossed in march.

it will get cleared but it will take time and no one knows how long. tbh i didnt do anything different. i did talk to my congressperson and actually got a meeting with him. they reached out on my behalf but they just got same response as we do. he did promise to write a letter to embassy directly, but that hadnt happened when my moms DS 5535 got cleared. so i think someone just picked up her file and started to work on it

i waited a year for my mom just to have the DS 5535 clear (without filing a WOM), then it took another 2.5 months for her to get the visa after i provided additional documents. its been very rare for these DS 5535 to have movement without a WOM case, i think only me, and maybe 1-2 more that waited almost a year and got their DS 5535 cleared without WOM @ice-qube is in an unfortunate company of one that has been waiting for more than a year now since he got his DS 5535

OMG my moms visa is issued!!!! I cannot believe I saw those words on CEAC site. 432 days after her interview, it’s been issued. man I’m so happy and thankful for this. on Tuesday my congressperson got a reply from embassy that they didn’t have my documents. I had sent everything and it was received by third party sorting facility on November 10. this Wednesday the date changed. It changed again Thursday. It changed again today. And two later later the status changed from refused to issued! what a hellish process and im really hoping people see issues soon for their cases
