my wife (K1 visa) and i got married last month (April,2014), she arrived here in US last march,2014. her K1 visa will expire on July 29,2014.
as per USCIS we should apply for AOS before her K1 visa expires.. is this true?
what will happen if we weren't able to apply for her AOS on or before her K1 visa expires?
really looking forward for a helpful advice, ideas and informations. Thank you in advance and very much appreciated.

The CO may or may not ask his BC. Just have it ready in case they will look for it.
thank u :-)
No. The petitioner's birth certificate is not part of the required documents for the K-1, his nationality was handled during the petition process at USCIS.
CFO may has for a copy though.
thank you :-)

Hi everyone...
i really need your help. My fiance' (petitioner) was born in the Philippines but naturalized in the U.S.
He served in the military for almost 19yrs.
My question is, will the consul would still ask for his BIRTH CERTIFICATE during my interview on February at the US Embassy Manila?
Please, please... thank you in advance for the reply.
God bless us all.

1) There is no issue with listing your USC daughter as traveling with you, after all she is traveling with you. No you do NOT need to taker her to the interview.
2) The K2, children from previous marriage, are not traveling with you you so NO you do not list them as traveling with you.
3) YES you should list your children from your previous marriage where the info is asked for (Family Information: Children), but check NO for traveling with you as they will being following later.
thank u very much.

Hi there. i hope you don' t mind me asking you again.
me and my fiance' (petitioner) have a 4yr. old baby girl, she's already a US Citizen (born abroad) and got a US Passport. my questions are:
1.) do i have to take her with me on my interview date/day?
2.) do i need to include her on the DS-160m form as K2? i don't think so hehehe
my fiance' didn't include her in the I129-F petition since she's already is a US citizen..just really wanna ask..
thank u in advance god bless.

please help.
we're on a K1/K2 visa application, interview will be next month.
for filling-out the DS-160 form, there's a question that says " TRAVELLING WITH"
and there's the portion that says K2...
my questions are: 1) i'll be travelling with my 4yr old baby girl ( me and my fiance's daughter/US citizen born abroad w/US passport) do i have to indicate her name since she'll
be travelling with me? Do I have to take her with me on my interview?
2.) what about my 2 kids from my previous marriage, they will just follow within a year do I have to indicate them as travelling with me and explain to the interviewer
that they're "to follow"?( within a year because of school issues)
3.) my 2 kids from my previous marriage should appear under the K2 on DS-160 form? I mean that's where i should indicate their names?
really need your best knowledge. my interview date is due next month. thank u in advance and god bless US ALL.

Embassy suggests to do the medical about 5-7 days before the interview, but for sure don't do it too far in advance as the visa validity is tied to date of the medical.
Interview again? They won't have gone to their interview until the fee is paid and the appointment is scheduled.
Process for the K2 is the same as the K1.
meaning, they will still have an interview like the K1 visa application procedure? Is this some kind of a formality and that they have to be seen by the consul physically? but that this mean chances are they will still be disapproved for a K2 Visa? :-(
please correct me if i'm wrong, this is what i understand: 1.) i'll include my K2 on my DS-160 and indicate "to follow"
2.) before 1 year ends or the date of my K1 visa approved will expire they have to follow me to the states
3.) example if they will follow me after 8mos. that's the time I will start the procedure as follows:
4.) payment for K2 visa and get a schedule for them for interview
5.) schedule a medical for them a week before the interview and the rest will follow like the CFO...
Thank you again for taking the time to reply. such a big help. God bless you.

Here is some more information about K-2 visas from the DOS Nonimmigrant K-1 Visa FAQs:
http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2994.html#4
Agree with Jay-Kay, you should consult with your interviewing consulate/embassy for specific requirements/instructions.
Good luck.
thanks alot for the info and for wishing me good luck...really need it :-)

You only need to pay your visa fee at this time, you can pay for the kids later. Each visa application has to have a separate fee, DO NOT make payment for multiple visa fees with one payment.
Follow the flashing arrow for more details.
thank u so much for that helpful reply, i have one question though :-) when should they have their medical? do they still have to go for an interview again? hope you can help me with this..thanks in advance and God Bless :-)

List them on the DS-160 and mark off that they will follow to join. I believe they will not pay their visa processing fees until it is time for them to actually apply for their K-2 visas. Ask your consulate directly for the exact instructions on follow to join K-2 visa procedures.
Thank you very much. God bless.

Happy new year everyone.
Me and my fiance' are on the process of K1/K2 fiancee visa. I have 2 (two) kids (18yrs/14yrs) from my annulled marriage and won the custody.
My kids will just follow me to the states wihtin a year from the date of my visa (hopefully) approval...i am about to pay for my k1 fiancee visa and schedule for an interview..
MY QUESTION are: 1.)DO I NEED TO PAY FOR K2 visa also??????
2.) DO I HAVE TO SEPARATE THE PAYMENT UPON PAYING TO THE AFFILIATED BANK OF US EMBASSY?
hope somebody can share their ideas. thank you.

SLEC will withdraw blood and they do a series of test to determine what vaccinations you will need. So there is nothing that you have to worry about. Just make your appointment and attend. Follow the wise information that Apple21 gave and you should be good to go. Good luck!
..Thank you very much :-)
yup...don't worry about the medical assessment. Just show up!
..thank you :-)

MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!
Can somebody please tell me what is PASSPORT PHOTOCOPY of Biopage? is it the 1st page of the passport that indicates all your info as passport holder?
thank you in advance. God bless us all.
-
If you don't have the vaccination records (baby book), it's okay. SLEC will determine the vaccines that will be given to you and your kids. Those vaccines are already INCLUSIVE in the medical fee.
You can do the medical exam early as long as you already have your case number. The latest would be a week before the interview.
thank you very much for the reply. very informative. merry christmas. god bless.

a blessed merry christmas everyone!
my fiance' (petitioner) sent our K1 fiancee visa application to USCIS last Nov.1,2013, NOA2 approved, NVC received our application, sent it to the US embassy here in my country (philippines) and they gave us our MCN number ( took 1 and a half month of waiting.....and PRAYING). Now, I'm about to book a schedule for my interview in the US embassy.
What actually worries me is about the immunizations during the medical examinations which will take place a week before the scheduled interview.
can somebody give me an idea anything about the immunizations that are needed during the medical exams? I don't have a record of the history of my immunizations as well as my 2 kids (from previous marriage who'll be on a K2 visa application)
do we have to acquire all the immunizations like the flu vaccine, hepa et.al before going to the medical exams?
really hope to hear helpful ideas from you guys?
god bless us all.

They will be given the necessary vaccines during the medical exam at St Luke's. The cost of the vaccines are already included in the medical fee.
Thank you for the time to reply. if you don't mind if i'll ask what are those vaccines that are included to the fee that we'll be paying?
God bless.

Hi. my fiance'(petitioner) and i are waiting for our K1 fiancee visa application which was already on its way to NVC approved by USCIS.
while waiting for NVC's notice upon receiving our application, I am preparing for required papers/documents for the US embassy interview.
My question is, we are applying for K1 and K2 (2 kids from my previous marriage: 18yrs old/14yrs old), DO WE HAVE TO COMPLETELY ACQUIRE or have the
required IMMUNIZATIONS/VACCINES like Menenggococal,Hepa A/B et.al??????????????????
your helpful reply would be much appreciated. thank you and GOD bless us all.

Hi, just wanted to ask did you end up sending a request to expedite? Any update? I am thinking about doing this too even though it's for K1, I am thinking there is no harm in trying but I am confused as there are mixed opinions on this forum about the expedite request. salamat po

Actually it has to show the date of approval
You have been approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

Hi. I am preparing my requirements for applying AOS/EAD/TRAVEL DOCUMENT. I saw a few tips and ideas on how to assemble the package but now I am confuse.
Some says it should be assembled and divided in 3 categories but to send in ONE package like this cover letter example shown below:
f the requirements and for the Travel Doc/Advance parole its had its own requirements as well.
But some says that they just send one package with the forms I-485/765/131 and the rest of the requirements in one not as compared above.
example of cover letter:
