  1. Iranians have the same problem, I have a friend with the exact same scenario

There ain't no US embassy in Iran.

What they really emphasized on was his translated Birth Certificate and they did accept and process the case

My friend said he didn't even need a character/police certificate from his home country which is Iran

He was in AP for 8 months and now he is in the US

If they told you they couldn't verify the docs that's probably a new thing or as you put it it's an indirect NO

  2. I have ton of stuff that I obviously cant take with me in one go, try to cargo your stuff to the US prior to your departure that's what I'm doing

I've cargoed 60kg and I'm sending another 50kg this coming week and I guess I still will be carrying two big suitcases with me

I hate to carry lotta stuff with me to the airport

on top of my baggage I have my little four legged furry friend and her cage

I thought I might throw some of my stuff out to be lighter but when I look at my them I feel I want them aaaaall

So yeah try to cargo your stuff with the airport

  3. We applied for K1 back in 2011 and 3 days ago my status finally said Issued

There wasn't any problem with our case but it took for ever

Just consider the amount of MENA folks running down to the US for varies reasons, I never said WHY they're taking much time or why am I put in AP for 6 months, I'm a Felestini living in Pakistan happened to fall for someone in the US I expected at least a year in AP alone

They're just doing what they gotta do, it's safe to say all the waiting time is fair

  4. Gosh, they've issued a lot lately! Congratulations to all of you who have received that wonderful word-ISSUED!

Mine was issued on February 4. I was talking on the phone with my fiance when he was putting his phone down to get something. All of a sudden, he reports, there was squealing coming through his phone! He listened to my words then immediately went to the site too. ISSUED!

My fiance told me he didn't want to get excited till he had it in his hand, but within an hour he was sending me information about flights to the US. We won't consider purchasing until we see the stamp in the passport, but it's a little exciting to know we can actually start looking at flight info.

    Congrats!!!!!!!!

I remember you answered my question while our status was on Ready

    Mine was issued on 5th

    Mabrooooook

  5. Carolyn I just saw this post and I couldn't believe my eyes cuz I have been seeing you around here and I knew you're stuck since years ago

I'm really really happy to hear such a delightful news, it all worth it init? I wish you and your other half all the best with miles of smiles together

congratulations to you for being so strong, not to mention your answers were always so helpful

    Have a blast girl

  6. Okay so I'm on a K1 visa, my fiancé and I decided to meet in South America, stay there for a week or two and then fly to the US together

I'm gonna be flying out from Pakistan so do you think that's gonna cause any trouble? Like do I have to fly from Pakistan straight to the US?

I don't know where to call and I'm kinda unsure US embassy will assist me over the phone

    Thanks

  7. Hey folks

5th of Feb 2014 CEAC status is changed to Issued!

My interview was on 31st of July 2013 (Islamabad embassy)

at the end of my 5 minutes interview the CO did not tell me I was approved or anything he just said wait we need to do some stuff and gave me a 221G green sheet and retained my passport

I emailed the embassy only 3 times during this 6 months and I never tried to contact my congressman or senator, never made a phone call to NVC or USCIS

They updated my status only 3 times after each email I sent, other than that nothing

The CEAC status went from Administrative Processing to Ready on 30ed of Jan and back to AP yesterday (4th Feb) and today Issued...

So finally after 6 months in limbo I'm gonna be with my one and only

This forum is one of the bestest I have ever come across, it's EXTREMELY helpful and been like a moral support to me I'm so addicted to VJ I spend at least 3 hours here everyday so thanks guys

For those who are stuck in AP I know how this is but just hang in there and BE PATIENT, once your visa's granted it feels like AP never exited

    Good luck everyone

  8. thanks for very usfull information.my question is what is DC abrvtion?i am sure ditrct of colmbia.do u think name clearance w done there?when ever my payment comes from usa it stoped becoz of common muslim name.now i m in AP 20 months.

    Faisal it's Washington, D.C.

Name check is one of them, for DC related clearance or like they call it Security Advisory Opinion, there are several agencies involved

The number of checks to be ticked off completely varies from case to case and country to country but let's say for example if there are 7 agencies and each desk takes 3 months that will be 21 months + they have some heavy backlog

You can never predict "when" "what" would happen

But the good news is you've already waited for 20 months and I have seen many males getting their visas after 2 years so you're almost there
