Lee and I (Sara) were penpals for a year before we agreed to meet as friends a year to the day after he sent his first email.
Well, we traveled over 1000 miles in 5 days, up to 14 hours/day of driving with just the two of us in the car, camping with no tent, no showers, and we loved the trip. While we may have had some flirtation, that trip was really where we fell in love and we both knew at the end of it that we couldn't see life without each other anymore. It's an inconvenient and very expensive relationship, but we keep falling more and more in love with each other.
As Bill Murray says, “If you have someone that you think is 'the one,' don't just sort of think in your ordinary mind, 'Okay, let's pick a date. Let's plan this and make a party and get married.' Take that person and travel around the world. Buy a plane ticket for the two of you to travel all around the world, and go to places that are hard to go to and hard to get out of. And if when you come back to JFK, when you land in JFK, and you're still in love with that person, get married at the airport.”
We aren't getting married at the airport, but we are getting married. Wish us luck on our K1 Visa Application!
